So
I agreed to replace someone's iPhone 5s screen
But
The replacement kit which showed up today says, "iPhone 5s screen replacement and Replar kit"
:\
Hopefully it works....

vote fuzzing is so confusing
I also think it's weird that /r/Windows hides vote counts for 7 hours

Q: Suggestion for changing the vote/accept icons

heynnemaI'm not sure that most (new) users know how to properly use the vote and accept icons that appear in answers. I know that I didn't for quite some time. I'd like to propose a minor change in the vote and accept icons... ^ vote V and checkmark icon (as it is now) Accept

@ThomasWard : I went back over a few months of tcpdump data from my Ubuntu server (one sub-net). I don't see it using (in my case) 192.168.111.255 for dhcp lease requests. I see potential clients using 255.255.255.255. I know we configure the dhcp server as to which interfaces to listen to, however, we never tell specifically it which subnet is for which interface (at least that I could see). So my point was, I guess it figures it out somehow, which it what I thought was cool.

Q: Too little Edit quota

CynplytholowazyRecently I am able to start doing First Post reviews, but while I am doing so, I had to edit a lot of posts that are of low quality. However, when I started my 6th edit, I repeatedly click on the "Edit" button and nothing happens and nothing pop up. Only going back to the question and clicking t...

I just found out that all my flags are not being reviewed. What to do?
wait
what type of flag was it and how long ago did you raise it?
1 is "not an answer" and it is 53 mins ago
and some "off-topic" , "not an answer" and "rude and abusive" at arround 15 mins ago
Now that I mentioned that, one of the flag is primarily opinion-based and I raised it at Sep 10 at 6:15 and it is STILL pending....
11:03
Close votes/flags can take while, the review queues for those are quite long.
~200 items normally
Also to close a question, 5 positive reviews are needed.
NAA should be quicker, but it can also take several hours until it's through.
I know, but even though there is 1 vote, in the "flagged post" page I will see "helpful" already.
Now most of them are still pending.
Red flags (spam/rude) should be fairly quick, but I am not sure if they also get into the normal low-quality queue or only into the moderator queue.
Could you link the post(s) you red-flagged?
ok
This one to me is the most concerned.
11:08
Ok, the comment is gone and the answer should follow soon.
BTW that one also contains a flag "Not an answer", can you help?
As I said, the answer will be deleted soon too.
I just can't do this alone.
How about you flagging that post as well?
11:12
I did.
And I casted a delete vote. Still one more needed though.
OK, thank you very much.
np
Just also keep in mind that it's the weekend and that the site is a bit more quiet then than on labour days.
Oh, I didn't realize that...

Q: Receiving "suggested edits" on yr(s) old posted answers

xtrchessrealReceiving "suggested edits" on yr(s) old posted answers. Is there a new effort or policy to clean up posts? Or Is Askubuntu being infiltrated by bots or spam hackers in recent weeks? My concern is twofold: Am I being randomly or intentionally targeted? I ask that because these suggested edi...

On 17 September 1991, the first version of the Linux kernel (0.01) was released. So raise your cups of coffee in memory of the first step on the road that would lead to where we are today. :)
eh...
He just made the question much worse...
?? Is no one onto the suggested edit queue?
Patience you must have, my young padawan.
Sorry for having no patience.
LOL
BTW this is the fifth time the same edit suggest @ByteCommander
Possible to disable anonymous edit on that post?
12:21
I can't do anything but repeatedly rejecting the suggestions.
I mean, it actually comes from 3 different users,....
Maybe some secret mod powers might be able to do something, idk.
If possible.
because this community is actually getting lots of spams and destructive things recently...
It gets dealt with accordingly.
Spam normally doesn't last a minute.
I know.
What I can do is just flag them.
And let the spam removal take place automatically

Q: Should Old Questions be answered or commented?

George MathioudakisI've seen old questions pop up (like 3 years old) because some newbies/users answer or comment. What should I do when I see these old questions? Ignore them? Is there any rule saying "Do not comment on old questions"? Should I answer/comment on old questions if they pop up or not?

Q: How to disable password expiry without chage?

MarcusI have an ubuntu linux image, which I use for my single board computer. When I write it the media (it's an sdcard), then boot and log in, it asks me to change the password. Where's Zanna by the way ?

@Seth Think we could merge this question that has nothing accepted with this where there's accepted answer from Zanzan ?
or maybe I should just dupe-nukem with my gold-badge powers
Unless I'm missing something, those questions are not the same at all.
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy exiled
@EliahKagan Search for files, grep them, print filename if match exists - seems same ?
She decided to mainly stay in the Downboat room only.
Heh. Well I should pay a visit there some time. Seems like more and more people are going into "exiles"
18:51
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy One of them is recursive and the other is not. Also, in one of them the filename is always the same but may be anywhere in the directory hierarchy and traditional (non-extended) globbing can't be used to list all the files, while in the other the filenames are different and traditional globbing can be trivially used to list all the files.
Eh . . . yeah, that's slightly different
I'll reopen

Q: Extended partition problem

Alvaromr7I made a mistake introducing a tar command over the /home that made all Ubuntu logical partitions to be out of the extended partition. I had an NTFS partition for Windows 10, and then an Ubuntu one separated in 3 partitions: /, /boot & /home. Here's the fdisk output Disk /dev/sda: 500.1 GB, 500...

Q: Backtick not typing on ubuntu 17.04 macbook pro

JoshOrndorffI've installed Ubuntu 17.04 (64-bit) on my macbook pro alongside both OSX and Windows ten (via bootcamp).
