Unity-2D has always been using the old style application switcher. Only Unity has the newly styled application switcher. The behaviour you are currently experiencing is intended and is not a bug. So, you don't need to fret too much about it.

I have a 2008 white 13.3 inch macbook that now solely runs ubuntu. However, I cannot get wifi or cable to work on it. Regarding the cable, it atleast tries to connect but eventually disconnects from the wired network.

sudo apt-get autoremove --purge [package name]
to packages that are no longer on the system.

I kind of like the categories vs tags distinction. It could thin out something like "development","rant","products_i_like" without tagging anything as "rant". I like it, but it seems I am in the minority. /end

And on any of those (except the last) allow multiple tag|category=.../ appendices eg /2012/02/tag=pies/category=food/
That's fairly safe as URL structures go (safer than allowing /slug/) and lets people easily browse around only using the URL.

I installed an Ubuntu alpha or beta and have been keeping it up to date.
So, Should I presume that my system has automatically updated to the next alpha or beta, and will be running the official release when it's finished?
Are the daily development builds of Ubuntu (Known as Ubuntu+1) stable and mature enough for general desktop usage?
Also, if I install the latest daily build today, will it notify for the update of the stable release when Ubuntu+1 is officially announced?
@rlemon Sorry having said I was here, I promptly vanished. No. In terms of storing it, just use a timestamp. Almost every database ever made is optimised for date-filtering.
Is there any interest in video recording solutions to some of the things that I see popping up in multiple places(UL/AU/other forums...I know shame on me for that last one;) ).

Every six months a new Ubuntu version will be released. Does anyone know at which time this will be?
