And the stupid award for today goes to.... me!
I played with all sorts of settings, completely baffled as to why no audio would come out of my speakers.
kmix, KDE settings, Bluetooth, etc.
Nothing worked.
Until I realized I didn't turn the speakers on.
:|
I love it when you have a problem and nothing fixes it.
Aw, didn't get it out quick enough :P
Well my free roku express arrived today...but the box is a little beat up...
Nothing was broken this time. Just my dumb-ness.
@NathanOsman Happened to me too some days ago. I still had my earphones plugged in, with the cable hanging down from the table...

How do I make KDE only show icons on one desktop?
It shows them on both desktops and in different places...
One is horizontal and one is vertical.
And a different order...
Oh!
You can customize each one independently.
Hey, that is actually pretty cool.

I wished Windows could do that.
Can Unity? I don't think so either.
Nope.
I am amazed.
I can change the icons on each desktop, I can change the wallpaper of each desktop, I can add panels, I can add widgets to panels, etc. There's nothing I haven't been able to do yet :P
these simple joys of life
I could make it look like Unity if I wanted to.
But I don't want to.

On 15 October 2006, it was announced that Mark Shuttleworth had become the first Patron of KDE.[19]
@NathanOsman so you recommend KDE today?
@WinEunuuchs2Unix Without reservation.
I wish I would have switched sooner.
You've got me interested. At first I thought gnome was the no-brainer but their DE looks plain
It is very plain.
You can't even minimize windows.
okies...I'm convinced... I'll stick with 16.04 for the time being as is with Unity but will branch out and try a different DE later.
You could have just installed kubuntu right?
That's what I did.
23:49
So it's still using gnome internals like unity does?
Nope.
KDE uses Qt internally.
There is no Gnome or GTK hiding in here :P
oh wow
looks like KDE really figured itself out huh?
KDE has 1800 devoopers (I think) + 20 new developers each month.
We might be adding Nathan to that list soon.
@NathanOsman You know that you can in fact minimize windows :)
Me I'm learning how to move the cursor in bash tonight :p
