@GeorgeEdison are you using a library?
Not sure yet.
I did write a JavaScript library.
I might resurrect that.
Man... watching Star Trek is so much easier then this...
Star Trek FTW!
@GeorgeEdison Whoa, what did you write that in?
Or is that just a picture.

Dear Customer

Thank you for joining the Raspberry Pi revolution and registering your interest in Raspberry Pi’s Model B board from RS Components.

We have received extraordinary levels of demand for this product. To help ensure as many people as possible can experience the Raspberry Pi concept, we are limiting boards to one per customer, and we will send you further information on your request in the next seven days. I can't say what the problem is with your particular installation, but why not try a regular ubuntu or its variants install and install myth...

@ThomasWard so is /bin/sh a link to the shell you're using?

@GeorgeEdison Perl? :S
Apparently so.
Hey... I can compile StackApplet for ARM? Cool!
@OctavianDamiean o_o
@GeorgeEdison Yep
@AmithKK Are you using StackApplet 1.6?
06:37
@GeorgeEdison Actually.. I wiped all my indicator applets hours ago
It's not technically an indicator applet.
It uses a special translation layer to create an indicator on Unity.
@GeorgeEdison Actually.. Here's what you can do
Make us a SE dash that works on the Raspberry Pi
Its ARM6, so ubuntu(lubuntu) doesn't support it
Can you run XFCE on it?
I dont have one.. But technically you can
With Openbox of course
@GeorgeEdison Link to 1.6 please
One sec.
Got it
LOL
@GeorgeEdison That logo is a bit non-mono (Stack Applet)
Heya @bodhizazen
@jokerdino sure , what about membership ?
I thought I said good night to you @bodhi.
'lo Amith KK
Yea, but always willing to help people with membership questions
06:55
Well, I just wanted to know how long the contribution needs to be and how valid my application would be and so on.
wiki.ubuntu.com/jokerdino <-- my not so up to date wiki page
I tried membership :D I failed :D
Nice wiki page =)
In general, they like to see at least 6 months, activity on launchpad is (bug reports) always helpful, and they also like to see you are promoting Ubuntu - Loco ? LUG ?
be specific in your promotion / community activities
@jokerdino Aha.. I thought I was the only one who burned lubuntu on cd's for that reason :D
@AmithKK I understand, it is, IMO, stressful to apply for membership, but they should have given your advice / direction
i started blogging about Ubuntu in my personal blog, does it also count?
06:58
jokerdino - Never hurts
I see.
I only got two people to try Ubuntu so far. :/
IMO the two most important factors seem to be - sustained contributions (6-12 months) + community promotion (again is there a LoCo near you ? LUG ? ) - be active , promote Ubuntu to new users in your community
@bodhizazen Ubuntu-sg is pretty inactive. They haven't approved my application to the Loco team yet.
And I tried to join the team last year.
Make it more active =)
I am not familiar with that LoCo
I suggested a track on askubuntu similar to the forums track
Which got turned down. :(
I would like to have a Ask Ubuntu way of getting membership. :D
07:03
I posted a suggestion on meta a few weeks back
What was this feature called again?

Q: Has there been any suggestion to encourage AU members to become Ubuntu Members?

bodhi.zazenI noticed there are a number of dedicated and helpful members on askubuntu. Has there been any suggestion to encourage such members to become Ubuntu Members as a recognition of their contributions here (similar to forums) ? https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Membership https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Forums/Membe...

That's it @jokerdino
I hope it works out.
To be honest, it is fairly new on the forums, and it took a while to develop, and I would imagine it would take some time and effort here too
07:06
hmm yeah.
Now, it is time for you to go to bed and I will work on updating my wiki page.
Good luck to you , just keep on contributing, membership will come in time
Thanks. :)
It is not easy, but it is not impossible either, you just have to take the process seriously and on your wiki page practice shameless self-promotion - list your contributions
zzzzzz ....
07:10
It won't compile :(
NMAKE : fatal error U1077: '"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\VC\BIN\x86_amd64\cl.EXE"' : return code '0x2'

I wonder when someone will respond to that bug.
I was using dodge windows in unity mainly because it make the launcher go out of the way on maximized apps (like Kdenlive who is benefiting a lot from unity's capability of making the most space usable). But I was never hiding the launcher when I use "windowed" apps (like firefox on the left and openoffice on the righ part of the screen) because it helped me a lot switching with something else rapidly (like thunderbird, pidgin, etc) What I think to be a good third behavior of the launcher is to hide itself when one app or more are fullscreen and if they are not, being always there. There is some corner cases like if one app is full screen and the focused app is not. But I think this will not bring some crazy bugs like dodging windows did in the past.

@jokerdino This is really odd. It should have been expired from your allocation in February. It's since been allocated (and expired) from somebody else's account.

A. not vim, B. can't do metro dev in it.
@OctavianDamiean it is classified as wishlist because it is not really a bug, it is working the way it is intended.
Hello all
Hey..
@jrg Why couldn't you do metro dev in it?
11:46
What happened to the font?
jrg
jrg
@OctavianDamiean Supposedly the build system doesn't integrate.
So i'd still need VS open.
Oh wine
@jrg I'm sure you could write a script to integrate it.
Sublime is extremely extensible.
But it takes effort.
Wait.. When did @jrg become a Metro Dev....

Q: How to remove ttf-mscorefonts completely?

Kevin MaghuyopI tried remove the installer itself, but the fonts are still there..Is there away to COMPLETELY REMOVE the fonts?

I need the fonts
But not on chromium
Change them in Chromium then.
11:54
Oli
Oli
@AmithKK That's slightly harder. Chromium just pulls its fonts from the systems font cache. If a stylesheet requests a certain font that is installed, it's going to be available and it's going to show on the page. The quickest fix for that is to write a script that dynamically edits the CSS to make sure no style can use one of those fonts... But I don't think that's as simple as it might sound.
Awesome ... Mozilla doesn't know background-clip: text
Webdesign can be a major PITA even if IE is not involved.
@OctavianDamiean Wait... It doesent?
It doesn't really look like it does.
And I'm talking about FF 10, not 3.6 or something like that.
12:00
Wait.. It only works on webkit
Oli
Oli
@OctavianDamiean Nope. And I'm slightly glad it doesn't. On one "simple" example with a scrolling background, Chrome was using 20% CPU. Clipping is seriously heavy work, it seems.
jrg
jrg
Is it considered part of the "HTML5" CSS3 spec?

A: How do I enable auto-login with LightDM?

htorqueAn alternative to Alin's answer is to create a file /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf and add the following content: [SeatDefaults] autologin-user=<YOUR USER> autologin-user-timeout=0 user-session=ubuntu greeter-session=unity-greeter Next time you start, auto-login should work like expected.
