What if you turn SIM lock on?

Um . . .not sure how to do that. I would simply go straight to my provider and cancel the sim card

I walked into my old carrier's store and they gave me my account number after giving them my four-year digit PIN.

So four digits is smaller than an account number.

Oh . . . .so . . . once they transfer number to different carrier, my carrier cannot do anything about the sim card , right ?

Well your new carrier will issue a new SIM card.
