@SeverusTux excellent here thanks, good weather came back, everything is going well, feeling good :)
nice to see this :)
@Zanna Now we got your clods all here...
*clouds
@Zanna coconut cream sounds kinda good.
That probably works with tiramisu
I'm not at all envious :<
I am having a little problem with my GNOME, How to make bookmarks remember the mountpoint and automatically mount the required partition when clicked on. Any ideas ?
@StefanoPalazzo I have made it myself using coconut cream :)
13:04
Currently, this is the situation.
13:24
@edwinksl Thanks for that q link. got accepted :)
Meta's done now
@Anwar nice work :)
@Zacharee1 ??
theme
13:49
OK, now Meta is actually done
batteries can be split into 2 ? :D
a battery by definition is more than one cell I think? so by definition in theory yes? haha but in actual fact, depends what is being described by "battery"
Phone batteries are just bricks of Lithium

Q: Ubuntu detects two batteries when I only have one

G ViaudI have a computer on which was spilled water. Following the incident, the battery duration was reduced to ~30 minutes and two batteries were detected by Ubuntu: one completely discharged, and another with the real state of the battery. The autonomy percentage displayed by Ubuntu was the mean of t...

now you again >:-D
"I have a computer on which was spilled water" the glorious flexibility of our strange language be praised...

@Zanna feels like an ESL/literal translation
It sounds to me like use-of-the-passive-to-deny-responsibility XD
oh that too

Q: Can motherboard rust?

Rema VI spilled shampoo on my laptop recently. gave it to the tech guys, they cleaned it and it was working fine. After a month suddenly the control alt and shift buttons were not working when pressed together. Now the shift key is not working. The tech guys say the mother board has rusted after the sh...

How does one get shampoo on a laptop...
14:20
o.o
@JourneymanGeek take it with you into the bath?
this, I'm sure, is likely to be warranty voiding. And I don't mean in the satisfying sense. Like dropping a little stinker into the fires of mordor...
@JourneymanGeek anything could happen with me, I'm extremely clumsy
@Zanna so am I. Shampoo tho
Hehehe
14:39
@JourneymanGeek i know several people who have done this :P
@ThomasWard water? sure. soap... maybe...
what next, conditioner?
@JourneymanGeek At least it's something that can be cleaned :P
@JourneymanGeek you've gotta make sure you scrub all the malware out
i know someone who spilled paint on their laptop once.
14:44
on mine I've spilled cocoa powder, nail polish, hand cream, sunscreen, yogurt...
... printer toner...
someone I know was working with a printer, and made a very very stupid mistake. They opened the wrong part on a printer toner cartridge for a laser printer, and spilled the entire toner cartridge everywhere, including over their computer.
that system was... not usable... after that....
Ugh printer ink is nasty
@Anwar heh, no problem
@Zanna Not really. Gotta keep'm in the cartridge though :-D
Ink is bad, but toner is truly evil. I think it has to disposed of as hazardous waste, at least once used.
15:01
It is carcinogenic
@Rinzwind yup... apparently it's the most expensive liquid in the world
@edwinksl I was saying a shorter form of 我应该去睡觉. Was it the missing qu?
@Zanna If you believe some newspapers, everything is!
@Arronical i would still rather deal with toner... best case is to not deal with printers at all :p
@chaskes no i was saying you shouldn't sleep that much and should hang around here instead :p
@edwinksl Printer hatred always makes me think of the video of the cat that hates the printer, always strange as the cat's voice sounds exactly like my friend Steve.
@edwinksl Ohhh. That would have been fun, I have to admit. (But you can see I'm self-conscious about my bad Chinese)
15:17
How can we help this OP? The question has been DV'd pretty quickly, I agree it's not great, but they seem to lack some basic understanding askubuntu.com/questions/826989/…

@edwinksl agreed
hi! @IanC
@Arronical Hehe yeah
how are you doing?
15:47
@Anwar suspended user
o_O. now or already suspended?
user136984
@chaskes: Nightmare! Now I've got to deal with race conditions! :D
Hang on, @edwinksl are you Chinese? If so, your English is impressive! Unless you've cheated and were raised a bilingual :P.
@ParanoidPanda Good luck with that. :(

> New York bombings suspect Ahmad Rahami in custody after shooting police officer in Linden, New Jersey - US media -- NY bomb suspect 'held after shooting'
user136984
Seems he made lots of bombs but most of them failed to explode luckily.
@ParanoidPanda most of them didn't have detonators

1 hour later…
17:08
@terdon bilingual :p
@edwinksl Cheater!
:P
journeymangeek is my fellow countryman
Although, as another bilingual child, I'm not really in any position to point any fingers :)
it is awesome to be bilingual :D
That it is.
17:10
@terdon Aren't you trilingual?
Especially if you're a lucky bastard and one of your native languages is English, the global lingua franca. The only thing better would be if the other were Chinese, the one spoken by the largest minority. You win!
@chaskes I speak 5, but I'm a native speaker of 2
The other 3 are of varying levels of proficiency.
@terdon Greek, French, English, and...?
Spanish and bit of Catalan.
I spent 7 years in Barcelona
> I'm a native speaker.
@terdon that was a consequence of singapore's history (chinese-dominated british colony), so i guess we got lucky
17:12
@jokerdino I never said I was a native typer :P
@terdon but do you support barca or real
@edwinksl That's an interesting definition of "lucky". Let's just call it a silver lining.
@edwinksl Neither, I'm afraid. I never could muster the slightest interest in watching sports.
British mostly had a positive impact on Singapore.
Oh?
Compared to other colonies, of course.
17:14
Good then. I know absolutely nothing about the history of the region, I'm afraid.
@jokerdino yeah i would agree with that assessment, esp when comparing to what they did to india
Yes, India was what I had in mind.
Still, if nothing else, it left you speaking what are probably the two most useful languages in the world.
In terms of the number of people you can communicate with.
@Serg tried to give him an answer, but this doubt was more related to the linux device input handling then C itself, had to do some research to find something about it :p
by the way, does anybody knows why xmodmap keycodes have an offset related to the sudo dumpkeys keycodes?
I took a wild guess on my answer (askubuntu.com/questions/826719/…), but I'm not sure about it
@terdon i also write tons of greek for work. does that make me somewhat an honorary greek? :p
@edwinksl Sure, if you like. Although most people are trying to become anything but Greek these days.
Why do you write Greek anyway? Do you speak it?
17:25
Alpha, beta, gamma symbols in research papers?
Argh, OK, yeah. Just looked at your profile. No, writing letters doesn't count. It has to be words at least. We may be Greek but we do have some standards!
@terdon :( :(
Sorry dude, that's just the way it is.
@terdon πάει μακριά και να πολλαπλασιάζονται
:P
See? He gets it!
17:27
no not :P
heh
17:40
I get a segfault when I attempt "British + positive impact" XD

Q: Copy files remotely without bringing locally

Jeffrey Kevin PryI wasn't really certain how to phrase this, but I have a headless Ubuntu server with multiple hard drives. Q: How to uninstall NetBeans 8.1's Tomcat and GlassFish?

Paranoid PandaI am running Ubuntu GNOME 16.04.1 with GNOME 3.20 (though I was running 15.10 when I installed it) and when I installed NetBeans 8.1 I selected to install Tomcat and GlassFish as well which seem to be located in /usr/local as far as I can tell along with NetBeans. NetBeans also seems to be quite ...

@ParanoidPanda George's next video is in production.
I estimate it is 65% complete.

@NathanOsman: Great news! :)
Oh... math SE is fast , 6 comments in 2 mins after posting a question
18:33
:D
@terdon Remember that I can read Attic (though I'm a little (a lot) rusty). We read the apology in college.
18:59
@NathanOsman small question, do you know anything about github.io ? Does it cost ?
19:15
Nope, GitHub pages is free.
19:25
@chaskes if you still have my script installed, you should reinstall it
hey @NathanOsman
have a python question for you
i have a bunch of modules in a folder i want to reload.
But the reload() thing doesn't work.
I have no idea how to reload modules.
Django and Flask both do it though.
huh.
oh, @ByteCommander, CE6 is great.
I'd like more moderative commands, though... But I don't know if we have any of that data.
Hey. Mark here.
@Zacharee1 Tried your AU script this morning, seemed to work fine.
I changed it
and the name of the CSS file
Hmm... let me see if I can try it now.
Restarting browser, back in a minute.
@KazWolfe Hey, uhm... Thanks. But the main project is ChatExchange from Manishearth, he did all the work. I just made it Python 3 compatible.
well, it works well, so :D
Good job
19:47
:)
what's this?
SO is finished
@Zacharee1 ?????
@grooveplex my SE Dark script
Need advice about an edit suggestion for a tag wiki - someone proposes a tag eric (a python IDE). The suggestion itself looks good, but do we really need that tag?
@Zacharee1 URL of script please??
19:51
I'm about to add SE chat to it
@guntbert are there enough questions about eric?
@guntbert why not python-ide?
@guntbert I'm the one who made that edit. I don't think we really need it
@Zacharee1 Waiting for permission to proceed.
@KazWolfe exactly 1 (one) - thats one reason why I ask
19:52
@guntbert i'd say find another tag to stick it in
and maybe?
@MarkYisri OK, chat.se added in
@KazWolfe good tag suggestion.
Alright, trying it now @Zacharee1...
@grooveplex does that sound good to you?
Refreshing page...
@Zacharee1 No difference on chat.
:(
I haven't actually done anything th chat yet
just AU and SO
I was just adding the referral for the chat CSS into the script
19:55
Is actually useful?
The tag? No.
i say no, so bye.
Waves goodbye to tag...
Yeah, I'd say replace with
actually on that post, is not needed
@KazWolfe agreed.
19:57
So I've done all this stuff in cloud9: new files, edited files, etc. How do I push that to Github?
@Zacharee1 git push
doesn't do anything
permission to nuke?
@Zacharee1 errors?
It just says everything is up to date
but none of the files have actually changed
19:59
then it is up to date
um
@Zacharee1 have you added all files and committed all stuff locally?
This is now officially the scariest answer on Stack Overflow:
have you commited
@ByteCommander idk
No changes to commit
@NathanOsman GAH
19:59
git status
@Zacharee1 git add .
