wow 265 rep on one simple answer o_o seems people are desperate for that
On which answer?

A: How do I use C++11 with g++?

VideonauthThis you can do by using the -std=c++11 flag. Here's an example: g++ -std=c++11 -Wall -Wextra -Werror main.cpp -o main This mode can be selected with the -std=c++11 command-line flag, or -std=gnu++11 to enable GNU extensions as well.(source) See the explanation of the other flags below. I dee...

+1, excellent answer videonauth
yeah normaly those question mostly get closed or migrated and i thought well i can as well answer it
15:18
@Videonauth It probably made the hot network questions list. In general, if LightnessRacesInOrbit left a comment, it's HNQ. He seems to feel it is his duty to share his views on all HNQ questions.
surprises like this make answering questions worthwhile
lol
typically these days, if you get more than 50 upvotes its a HNQ I suspect
there's exceptions, of course
for me it took only 26 upvotes to make i there
erm sorry 27 upvotes within 23 hours
funny thing i more likely expected this question to become closed on AU :)

Q: Editor Privelege?

David Cole - Grammar PoliceI speak this from experience, but waiting for a suggested edit to be approved (before 2000 rep.) can be tiring and annoying. So what I want to know is if you guys think the following is a good idea. For those of us (me) who are avid editors, after ~100-150 approved edits, we get a privilege on th...

@AskUbuntuMeta 100 edits is too little. Make it 1000.
well 1000 aproved edits result in having 2000 rep
you are catching on
@jokerdino I like it. Oh wait...
huh, I only ever submitted 180 suggested edits.
79 here.
maybe we need some deputies on the suggested edit queue.
16:15
??
how can i see how many i submitted ?
> Videonauth had 119 edit suggestions approved, and 12 edit suggestions rejected
ah ok :)
no need for deputies on the suggested que, a simple raise of daily aprrovements in that sector lets say by 10 per person would cut it already
that is a reasonable suggestion.
from my experience i can say i use up my approvements in that sector daily and see the numbers still raise
this way you would as well prevent the people from gaining badges to fast but would alow for the que to clear more

Q: How to create a virtual systemd service to stop/start several instances together?

Mark StosbergI plan to host several instances of the same web app for customers using systemd. I would like to be able to stop and start each customer instance using systemd, as well as treating the whole collection of customer instances as a single service that can be stopped and started together. systemd ...

when i think more of it raising by 10 would possible be overkill already, te highest amount on open edit suggestion was 30 so to give everyone a chance to use this up per day a raise of 5 might be enough

Q: ( test -n $st ) != ( test -z $st ) right?

Severus TuxAs I read, test -n $string ==> Exit status is 0 if $string is not null, 1 otherwise and test -z $string ==> Exit status is 0 if $string is null, 1 otherwise But in this particular example, (I tried to create a null string) it seems I am missing some thing. #!/bin/sh str="" test -n $str echo...

Q: start load vino-server in Ubuntu 16.04 lts

alejcI'm trying to raise vino-server in Ubuntu 16.04 but I could not. I am using this script and let me start by terminal (root account: /etc/init.d/vino-server.sh start), but not as a cronjob (@reboot /etc/init.d/vino-server.sh start), And neither begins with rc (update-rc.d vino-server.sh defaults) ...

Deep Web StackExchange has just started private beta. Anyone interested?
@ByteCommander sure why not
Well, I have access to it because I subscribed to the proposal on Area51. If you want to join the site before it reaches public beta in a few weeks, you need an invitation.
And the online form only allows to send invitations to email addresses.
Still interested?

user139252
18:03
got it
user139252
Alright, I sent you a file. Save it to your home directory
user139252
Then run sudo apt-get install openvpn and sudo openvpn /home/YOU/Naboo.conf. Then just try to visit any old site and let me know if you have internet connectivity. To undo everything OpenVPN does, just press CTRL+C in the terminal you launched it in.
Saved.
"old site"?
user139252
"any old" is a figure of speech here, sorry :P
user139252
It just means "anything will do"
18:06
Ah, okay. :)

Q: Ubuntu 16.04: How is the bonding kernel module gettting loaded automatically?

pgoetzI recently set up an Ubuntu 16.04 system with a bonded ethernet configuration. 18:15
@ByteCommander do you use IPv6?
I think so... Did not disable it and it's a clean install, only two weeks or so old.
@TheBrownOne this is nice if you only have 1-2 sites to go what im looking for is creating this in an offline e-book for myself bash.cyberciti.biz/guide/Main_Page
and the download lik provided there is dead
user139252
Like I said, just a quick search :P. Sorry
Also, it should never have connected if that was the problem, right?
user139252
Oh yeah, it did connect once
user139252
18:18
What's the output of ip route show?
user139252
I don't need the whole output if you don't want to share, I just need to know if it says "tun0" somewhere in there
Nope, it only lists my wifi device.
Or did you mean that I should check while openvpn is trying to connect?
user139252
While it's trying to connect
Would be the same.
$ ip route show

user139252
Hm... I wouldn't think so, but it might be the fact that we have the same local subnet and OpenVPN tries rerouting yours to mine...
user139252
18:22
Thanks for trying, you can uninstall openvpn if you want. I'll try doing more debugging on my end.
user139252
Alright, yeah, it's an issue with my TLS certificate...

Thank you @jokerdino big hugs, was a tough year but I am back
Great to hear~
How are you doing, how has everything being
I am doing fine.
user139252
Grrrrr... TLS auth is being annoying.
user139252
18:56
I can get it to connect exactly once each time I generate a new key.
user139252
if I connect, then disconnect, it tells me that the TLS handshake failed
user139252
Even though I disabled the TLS handshake
user139252
Got it! It's my router's firewall. It didn't like the connections coming in that quickly. Everything is functional.
Shall I test again?
(Btw. what exactly am I connecting to then?)
user139252
The key I sent you is no longer valid, let me create a new one.
user139252
19:08
It's my VPN. I never got it back up and running after that one mishap a couple months back.
user139252
It would be good to test from another region
user139252
@ByteCommander Sent you a new key.
@TheBrownOne Same error again. :/

user139252
I think I need a different port
Killing the process again then.
19:26
so first time im baffled i have the same happening to me, i cant change my profile picture
in ubuntu i mean
@Videonauth Change to one of the preinstalled pictures, or to a custom one?
custom one
it lets me do it when i log in my second sudoer account
then i can change my main accounts profile picture
Oha! Same here!
and vice versa
But it worked the first time.
19:31
i never had one set yet lol
I have set my wolf as user image a few weeks ago.
Back then it worked flawlessly.
Maybe it's a bug in one of the recent updates?
yeah i dont know where to report that tho
funny is like i said if i log over to my other user account i can chancge the profile for this one lol
@Videonauth Should be the package 'unity-control-center' I think...

Does anybody know how to synchronize two copies of the originally same thunderbird profile containing POP3 mail accounts? askubuntu.com/questions/773860/…
20:36
@Videonauth Confirmed and commented your bug report. You should post an answer to that question describing that you wrote a bug report and sharing the link, asking people to confirm it as well if it affects them.
i comented on that question
not sure if that justifies writing an answer conaining the link as well

Q: How do I use imagemagik with URL locations?

not dollars

I need to know!
onamazon
amazon
user139252
36 euro is approximately 40 USD.
user139252
I don't want to be stingy... but I can't see myself shelling out an extra $3.38/month right now for Scaleway D=
23:51
wazzat
ah ok 39,99 didnt look that close
user139252
@Zacharee1 Scaleway is a VPS solution. Unmetered 200Mb/s bandwidth, 50GB storage, 2GB RAM
That's still only $45
@TheBrownOne sounds interesting. what for?
user139252
Ewwwww... Adata
yeah why not i already have one of those and it did good work here
23:52
what's eww?
and for only $37 :p
That's suspiciously cheap
well no VAT
@Zacharee1 @Videonauth link only should be NAA.
ad 19% on top of it
ah
I thought maybe
it's not a super big deal which you use, but NAA is better.
user139252
23:54
I had a few Adata flash drives that all failed within a week.
None of the descriptions really fit @Seth
user139252
Maybe they've gotten better, though.
@Videonauth I don't know what that is
Value added tax
so multiply your 37$ with 1.19
yes they do :)
23:55
I mean in the flag menu
"does not attempt to answer the question"
but it does
@Videonauth "+$0.00 estimated tax"
ah, the text. Sure, not perfect.
well with value added tax your 37$ would be 44.03 $
But is that the same in the US as DE?
so no need for me to import it because i would have to tax my import then
no its 39.99 euros
which is when you calculate it around 44 $
Apparently I've already flagged this? askubuntu.com/review/late-answers/566015
23:57
44 45 not sure
But I mean the VAT
nope us has no VAT
as far i know
its a EU thingy
so it's just $37 then :p
user139252
@Zacharee1 I've been meaning to ask... Did you want an actual mail-server associated with your site?
499 First Posts and 499 Close Votes O_o
23:59
lol
@TheBrownOne I don't need it, and it'll probably just end up costing you more money. Thanks though :)
