Well, every time I run 16.04 in a VM... It commits suicide... So I'm not sure about the upgrade... I guess that is only the Unity version I've tried, I've not tried to see what happens on GNOME... Hope it's not the same... :D

A: How to remove the Unity Amazon package in 16.04?

Thats pretty easy now, press windows/superkey. In bash enter amazon to find the amazon software. Right click it and see the detailed information, where you shalt find an incredible remove button :) Have fun.
