@Zacharee1 Nope, no posting your help services! They have to be "community" ads...
;-)
@Fabby that wasn't what I was thinking ◔_◔

@Fabby Don't know if you noticed, but the ad looks stretched since the last revision: meta.askubuntu.com/posts/14960/revisions
@Fabby I was wondering about the Darktable thing
@Zacharee1 Yeah, that's what she said!
@kos I saw that

@Zacharee1
You might promote the following things:

* cool Ubuntu applications
* the site's Twitter account
* Ubuntu scripts or power tools
* cool events or conferences
* anything else your community would genuinely be interested in
(I put a smiley underneath my snide remark: interprete it as a joke)

Well, goodnight guys! :)
@Fabby your avatar is a very accurate explanation for what I am feeling
@GeoMint ah thanks
@ParanoidPanda byebyebyebyebyebyebyebyebyebye
@kos Yeah, that was the easiest way of getting it into 600*500 without too much work!

I'm horrible at GNUchess
@Zacharee1 It's community-driven...
@Zacharee1 :D :D :D
@Fabby I didn't know the expectations, gawd
@ParanoidPanda Pumpkin!
OVERLOAD
TOO MANY MESSAGES
AGHGHGHGHGH
I'll shut up a bit and go work the review queue
Ping me only if the chat room is burning down!
23:12
haha ok :)
I just see a message pop-up integrated with the Ubuntu notify system, which I can click away as I've got a custom-built one... (just if you were wondering whether it annoys me you doing this, and the answer is: no, it doesn't) @Zacharee1
stahp
@Fabby that's it, closing the tab

@Fabby But... But... It looks bad now, and it looked nice before.
I'm like 0°K vacuum: eventually I'll drain all the warmth from anyone...
@kos You're the only one that noticed... and only because you compared...

Q: How can I protect an answer?

FabbyI just saw this and edited it to this to allow the next user in the review queue to see that it really is an answer, but I'm fearing that the answer (though off-topic as custom kernel) might be lost to GNU herd mentality. How do I protect an answer?

23:18
(and maybe because you're the only one here that's got any taste and style... It's probably genetic) ;-)

@Fabby I did not compare it though, I was like "Hey, let's look at all the ads again" and noticed it looked stretched. Then I compared it to the previous revision and had the confirm I didn't upvote that before! :P
If you really want, you can download the original and add whitespace to the left and right instead of stretching it...
... and then uploading it again and changing the link...
(or take your vote away)
I'm not bothered putting in more work: I just wanted to race SchizoPanda to have something in before he could...
>:-)
i hope you recognize me with my new pic

Does @ByteCommander have a .xcf for that? It will be cleaner if we edit that one maybe.

Let's encrypt is too easy D=
@seth: good one, my friend. Please keep me thinking! Good against brain-rot! ;-)
@HeatherBrown too easy?
@HeatherBrown Can you take a look at the new header and tell me what you think?
oh hang on
user139252
Looks good
The alignment's way off :p
user139252
23:53
I figured you wanted it off to the left :P
@HeatherBrown adorable kid ;p
kos

@HeatherBrown You mixed some stuff with Python: you can't do [ "$currenttemp" > "$targettemp" ] in Bash, you have to use [ "$currenttemp" -gt "$targettemp" ] or (("$currenttemp" > "targettemp")), and in any case that doesn't work for floats. You'll have to use bc or anyway an external tool.
@HeatherBrown no, I'm just editing in half and half, so the site looks different
@Fabby just being brutally honest, no harm meant :)
@Seth And absolutely true!
user139252

@Kos Then I will delete my awful answer :P
:-)
Just in case I needed another reason to dislike Gnome:
kos
kos
@HeatherBrown It's not awful, but as of now it doesn't work, you could just fix that and it would be a good answer.
user139252
@NathanOsman Vivid?
23:58
I tried to run do-release-upgrade and Gnome started continuously writing data to the hard drive.
Vivid => Wily
user139252
Ah
if @Serg is listening... those noodles were totally hotter than I expected. proceed with caution.
gotta love gnome. not.

I finally had to pause the VM since (1) it was becoming unresponsive (2) it wasn't stopping.
It had written 8 GB of "something" to the disk at that point.
No idea what.
@NathanOsman never had that with my GNOME
