Had the funniest conversation the first time I met one of them. Told them how I was being used (fix this fix that, no set position). First words out of their mouth "So, you're going in to management?"
:D :D :D
@hbdgaf Of course you answered that no, you actually fix stuff :)
@terdon >:)
@terdon Well, I think grunts should run their daily routines and run the business. In the context of retail, I think managers should be fixing problems and making sure everyone is actually running their routines. I neglected to answer.
00:07
So, I would like to go to sleep: Have you got tox up-and-running yet??? @terdon
Nope. His from AUR build is doing this:
@Fabby Yup, just
@hbdgaf pfft, it works fine. Apparently
@terdon here's my ID:
Was just funning with you @terdon
@hbdgaf :D :D :D :D
It just restarted!

@hbdgaf lol :) I thought you'd just posted an infinite loading gif.

No, it's my windows gaming experience gif
I hope to see linux without file permissions one day. But this means rewriting everything from the most basic stuff, so nope, not gonna happen.
@terdon You're a chat mod so I shouldn't be asking "Did you get my ID in time?"
@Fabby Thanks, but, umm, the tox client I installed just segfaulted. It's too late for this crap, I'll ask you again tomorrow if you don't mind.
00:11
Good!
@Fabby Indeed :)
That's not going to change much anyway.
And good night!
whatever.
Good night!
00:12
Good night.
Sleep is good.
Oh, yeah, sleep.
@hbdgaf here's one for your collection if you haven't seen it:
Won't onebox for some reason.
You're a chat mod so I shouldn't be asking "Did you get my ID in time?"
It ends in v. The system doesn't pick it up as a gif.
I have such nice things to show you.
And it's 25MB! Eeeek!

That might infinite load, but... it's trying to onebox.
@hbdgaf Changing the URL to .gif seems to work
How is it higher quality in gifv?
Yes derp. I just posted that derp. Thanks, Herpina.

Q: who is http://viyals.com/, and why did I get routed through them to askubuntu.com?

@Seth found it online when I had KDE. My RAM would go to like 6/8 GB after 5 hours. I don't have time to find it right now, but it shouldn't be hard
No, no it wasn't. It did go down slightly if I closed Chrome, but it always steadily increased no matter what. I switched to GNOME and it disappeared. Never had the problem in Unity

joepeacock001I hope this is the right place for this. If not, let me know where would be more appropriate. Paranoid PandaWell, the schemas for that section are in the package libgtk-3-dev so make sure that that is installed with: sudo apt-get install libgtk-3-dev And then if that is already installed, or installing that does not help you will need to manually load the schemas with: sudo glib-compile-schemas /us...

DougAll you have to do is open Nautilus and all will be back.

I've created proposal for LibreOffice assuming it may be helpful. But one says it is also on-topic on SuperUser. Then I also checked AskUbuntu and found that: 41 followers, 1.1k questions. So, What should I do? Delete proposal ; or leave exist? If you've suggestion for improving site description then also ask me.
user136984
@Fabby: I figured out my problem by the way! :)
well done @ParanoidPanda
Was my decision/idea of proposal wrong? Help me to decide. If there is no problem with proposal of LibreOffice, then welcome to join if interested.
As I thought - looks like a bug. Just make sure that info is added to your bug report

10:54
@fossfreedom Are you using LibreOffice? what do you think about chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/26026610#26026610 ?
11:11
@Pandya I do use libreoffice - but in a very basic way - and yes - I tend to use superuser when I need to find out something specific.
I'm not convinced a dedicated SE site will help here - superuser has all of this stuff covered. What specifically do you think a dedicated SE site will help with here over and above what superuser has?
user136984
I've only got 4 close votes remaining! :D
user136984
Should I use them up or wait? :D
@fossfreedom OK. I have not much idea currently and I also asked for suggestion for improving site description. I think I should look at superuser.com/help/on-topic first before proposal but as I said...... should delete? or.... now?
I wouldnt delete - proposals come and go - you never know when something like this is just what the wider world is after
Thanks.

@ParanoidPanda It says Disc burning utility will also be removed. Do you've any idea why?
user136984
@Pandya: I think that they are going to make new ones instead of using third-party ones.
@ParanoidPanda which?
I mean any link/information about new ones?
@Pandya that's because no one burns DVDs anymore ... all to save space on the main ISO
user136984

There are some others which are being replaced though... But I can't remember where I read that... You should try just DDGing it...
... i didnt say I agreed with the proposal ... that's just one of the reasons why it was dropped.
@fossfreedom Are you talking about LibreOffice proposal?
no - the proposal to drop the "deemed obsolete" disc burning utility from the 14.04 image
OK. that was mine misunderstanding. thanks ; I also agree that it is better to use USB live site than Disc

I'm actually getting that film out soon to see what it's like without the music... :D
16:31
Dunno. Any RegEx experts here at the moment?
I need to match the pattern {(.*?)}, but not {{(.*?)}}. How can this be done?
@kos: -----^ ???
I thought of [^{]?{{(.*?)}}[^}]?, but that doesn't work.
kos
kos
@ByteCommander {[^{}]*}
No wait, post an example of the input and the text to match
@ByteCommander On what input and using what tool, what regex flavor?
match {this group} but not {{that one}} for example.
I'm using Python's re module:
16:35
That's PCRE, I think. This should work:
{[^{}]*}
re.findall(pattern, string)
user136984
Does anyone know of a GUI for firewalld?
Should return a list of the inner groups:
You might need to escape the outer { } though: \{[^{}]*\}
$ echo "match {this group} but not {{that one}} for example." | grep -oP '{[^{}]*}'
{this group}
{that one}
["this group"]
16:38
@ByteCommander Yes, did you try the one I gave you?
kos
kos
@ByteCommander {[^{}]*} should be fine.
>>> string="match {this group} but not {{that one}} for example."
>>> pattern="{[^{}]*}"
>>> re.findall(pattern, string)
['{this group}', '{that one}']
But I need the output ['this group']
@kos It is not, as you can see.
kos
kos
@ByteCommander I know, I thought terdon's message was yours.
@ByteCommander Can there be multiple nested braces? Like {{{foo}}}
@ByteCommander Ah, OK, then you'll need a lookbehind. Or just capture it, let me see how Python does that.
Yeah, capturing works:
pattern="{([^{}]*)}"
>>> re.findall(pattern, string)
['this group', 'that one']
@kos Usually only 2 should be allowed.
kos
kos
16:43
@ByteCommander Hold on maybe it doesn't matter. [^{]\{.*?\}[^}]
Wasn't that what I initially had?
>>> re.findall('[^{]\{.*?\}[^}]', string)
[' {this group} ', ' {{that one}} ']
@kos Nope.
I need to eliminate "that one". :P
kos
kos
@ByteCommander Right, [^{]\{[^{}]*\}[^}]
@ByteCommander try the last one I gave you. You need to capture the part of the string you want.
kos
kos
@terdon I understand he doesn't want the inner group if it's surrounded by braces
>>> string="match {this group} but not {{that one}} for example."
>>> pattern="{([^{}]*)}"
>>> re.findall(pattern, string)
['this group', 'that one']
16:46
@terdon Yours did not eliminate "that one".
Oh. I hadn't realized you needed it to. Sorry.
@kos Correct. Now I only need to add the group braces...
kos
kos
@ByteCommander Hm? What's wrong with that one?
Here you go:
>>> pattern="(?<!{){([^{}]+)}"
>>> re.findall(pattern, string)
['this group']
user136984
@A.B.: Do you get the same with this? :)
16:54
