in your http client, submit a list of previous redirects for redirect handling, and if it's an even number with len(S) <= 2 (s = set(redirects)) you haven an infinite loop. Say after the list is longer than 20 iterms or something
I want use hybrid image to create an USB Ubuntu installer. All I know at this point is that I need to paste the contents of the ISO directly into the USB's partition, but will it work without boot flag?

I just discovered Ubuntu a few days ago and now upgraded to 11.10.
For the battery, I don't need it at all. I have no reason to give and does not want people to tell me "that's usefull", I think we should be able to remove it easily.

You can install it via the following:
First, add the PPA. The exact instructions are here, the PPA you need to add is this:
ppa:lubuntu-desktop/ppa
Then, you need to update your package list:
sudo apt-get update
Then, you'll need to install the lubuntu software center:
sudo apt-get install ...
and it's more complicated, with couchdb and everything. so I want to be sure it will run before I frustrate people by giving them code that doesn't work like they expect
one of the modules is licensed under some weird permissive license that isn't gpl compatible, and I think I might have annoyed the author by questioning the quality of their code on stackoverflow

I've you're well versed in your framework, urllib and it's friends, implementing this will still take a bit of time. It's not trivial.
The openid2rp code doesn't look all that, uhm, ready.

The problem I have is, Faenza doesn't have a good battery icon for darker and darkest. I don't mind it being there since it's my netbook, I just need to find a suitable icon replacement

While the titleof this isn't subjective, the contents of the question are. "I was wondering if it's worth to upgrade to 11.10 if I have 10.04 as a server." - is it worthwhile to upgrade? Depends on your usage.
@JorgeCastro First: don't go looking if you don't remember off the top of your head. Second, do you recall if it was discussed having a ubuntu power users PPA with Unity/Ubuntu tweakin' tool, or if it was just supposed to get submitted to the main repositories?
The thing about ruby stuff is it's horrible to get packaged properly, so the only "safe and proper way" to do it is via dpkg-deb --build <dir-name>shudders
I updated my perfectly running laptop from 11.04 to 11.10. after the upgrade graphics started to act weird.
It was a heavily modified system, so I thought that was probably the issue.. so I reinstalled. I'm using the xorg-edgers ppa for updates.
