@GeorgeEdison for the lens we want to put it in USC, so everything needs to be self contained in /opt
even the data
@Greg OH, You wanted to match the end path too, so long as it had html or js
I thought you wanted only the path with the exception of the file
ok
today is the day I figure out stacktack
StackTack?

@MarcoCeppi this look correct to you?
Yup
This is what I use on my blog: $(document).stacktack( {site: 'askubuntu.com', onlyShowAcceptedAnswer: true, stylesheet: 'http://marcoceppi.com/wp-content/themes/classica-package/classica/css/stacktack.min.css' } );
00:16
oh
did you make yours orange?
Not yet, I've been meaning to
@JorgeCastro Can the data dump be in a separate package?
I probably won't make it crazy orange all over. Just use some of the font styling and colors from the main site
yeah
@GeorgeEdison for now put it in the same package
like, when we really want to go into the archive we should
or, you can submit both packages I guess
aha! Got it!
00:19
ew, you've got list-styles bleeding over
but at least it's working now!
I'll clean up my css file and publish it for people to use
oh bummer, no way to only show the answer
but whatever, it beats maintaining this crap in my blog
No way...yet

Actually. Work calls - AU StackTack CSS will have to wait until tomorrow morning
I can't get Ubuntu to boot from a USB stick :(
I've used the application on the LiveCD to copy the data from the installation CD to a USB stick...
...but it won't boot.
00:27
I've forked it on bitbucket, I'll just track my changes there
Does the USB stick need a certain filesystem? Does Fat32 not work?
00:38
to install TO it?
I would think you'd need it

What am I doing wrong?

don't you mean social engineering?

Wait.. where?
@FlackBot lookup social engineering (security)
Social engineering may refer to: * Social engineering (political science), efforts to influence society on a large scale * Social engineering (security), the practice of obtaining confidential information by manipulating and/or deceiving people. * "Applied sociology" refers to efforts to fix a sociological problem in a society. For the early history of the term, see * Social engineer

@AmithKK You're mixing up crackers with hackers. Hackers typically aren't people who do illegal things, like you've outlined. Those are crackers. Please see the wiki article for more history on the misuse of this term.
In computer security and everyday language, a hacker is someone who breaks into computers and computer networks. Hackers may be motivated by a multitude of reasons, including profit, protest, or because of the challenge. While other uses of the word hacker exist that are not related to computer security, they are rarely used in mainstream context. They are subject to the long standing hacker definition controversy about the true meaning of the term hacker. In this controversy, the term hacker is reclaimed by computer programmers who argue that someone breaking into computers is better c...

Posted by George Edison on April 9th, 2011

In the last article, I explained how to stream content using VLC. In this article, we’re going to take a look at using VLC to transcode files as well as how to control VLC with any Internet-connected device.

VLC ships with a number of built-in encoders for a wide range of different file formats. According to this page, the list of all of the video formats currently supported includes:

MPEG-1 Part 2

MPEG-2 Part 2

MJPEG (A/B)

Divx (1, 2, 3)

DivX 4, 5, 6 , 3ivx D4, MPEG-4

MPEG-4 Part 2 (AVP), Xvid …

um, it's borked on post pages: 2buntu.com/2011/09/23/…
That's no good :(
Oh no.
StackTack has a bug in it.
We have two choices:
- Fix it and host our own copy of the JS files.
- Contact the author of the plugin.
- Both
(Yes, I realize that's three options.)
jrg
jrg
1 for now, then 3.
19:13
So... what do you want to do?
jrg
jrg
lets fix it, host it, then once it's fixed we'll contact the awesome people over at stacktack.

@jrg: I need to copy http://app.stacktack.com/jquery.stacktack.min.js to the 2buntu server so I can edit it.
I have two lines to add that will fix the image bug.
jrg
jrg
@GeorgeEdison ok, let me get ahold of our host and see if they have A. FTP access or B. ssh.
@MarcoCeppi Don't suppose we have SSH or FTP access for 2buntu by any chance, do we?
As a last resort, we could embed the JS directly onto the page...
...but that's a last resort.
jrg
jrg
Hmm... can we possibly use something like paste.ubuntu.com to host it?
OHOHOHOHOH.
Just use your dropbox public folder.
We could do that, sure.
jrg
jrg
20:05
then once ondina launches with ssh access someone can move it over.

I don't know... I don't think it has to be.
you have to do that when you install linux?! right
20:47
What does the command df return?
I know it's on a seperate partion...
df
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda8 116206012 95229544 15073520 87% /
none 890188 696 889492 1% /dev

/dev/sda1 104857596 94266628 10590968 90% /media/CE005521005511B7
Okay, never mind. That was the wrong command.
xD
if swap is on the same partition then I would add that not the other way around (the normal way)
a mac has for instance swap and then disk space...
I think...
I don't know too much about this.
All I know is what happens when you do run out of disk space.
then I just w8 for the morning to come...
20:52
It happened to me once on Ubuntu... maybe 9.04 I think.
ok?
I have been down at 4 gb soem times
and it's REALLY slow, almost as running on swap..
I couldn't launch Gnome... so I had to free some space without a window manager / desktop environment.
I moved 15gb form the hardrive and it took 30 min
instead of 6
@jrg Not at the moment
