Q: PHPStorm changes group when saving file

ToastWhen editing a file with PHPStorm, the group is changed from www-data to my local user. I've added my local user to the www-data group, and if I edit the file with gedit/vim/etc the group stays as www-data. I suspect PHPStorm must be running as a different user, but when I check ps, it shows as ...

now the ui file for pystockcharts is almost done... converting it to dynamically generated now that i have a general idea of what hooks in where should be easy. i really don't like using .ui files...anyway, it's fleshed in mostly. no charting yet, but it's all making scaffolding and filling in bits at a time right?
that's the beat anyways ;)

SethThis can be changed, but the toggle is really well hidden. Right click on the panel, select "Panel" then "Panel Preferences". Switch to the "Items" tab, select the "Window Buttons" item in the list and click the wrench icon. Then uncheck "Switch windows using the mouse wheel" ...

^ anyone want to test for me
Yo @JasperLoy
So right now I am back to Debian.
I am using GNOME, and hopefully MATE will enter the Debian repositories in the next release.
Because like I mentioned, GNOME 3.8 and 3.10 both pixellates on my computer.
Yeah that's what people are saying
It will be interesting to see if CentOS 7 gives me the pixellation problem as well.
01:04
@JasperLoy if it's a driver problem with gnome it will be the same
(providing CentOS uses gnome)
@Seth Ah, which is why I asked about drivers that day!
Did you see my answer?
@Seth Yes, I did!
Okay good.
01:25
meh. i don't get in to distro wars beyond what works for me the last time i tried it... and ubuntu wins by being the last iso that i had to change to in order for it to work. if something is woefully broken on xubuntu that works on opensuse, i'ld switch without thinking.
wouldn't even register on my decision radar.

@AvinashRaj did you installed git?
@Braiam no
did git-config --global user.email "[email protected]" command correct?
there is your problem ;), btw, there isn't git-config but git config as far I remember

Q: Modify correct answer when OP was wrong

grmIs there a policy to modify the answer of an OP, when he obviously picked the wrong answer. Or will the correct answer get to the top when it gets enough votes?

I'll try it, and just install the xfce4-panel
@Seth ok it is in 4.10, but some of the panel items need updated to work together, so add the ppa - apt-get update apt-get upgrade

@karel is that qq international a malware
08:42
@AvinashRaj You can search the web about QQ for more info, especially the Wikipedia article. Most of the disputes center around claims that QQ is a easy to exploit by hackers, both the whole program and also pieces of it. QQ's side of the story is that they didn't do it, and they are therefore not responsible for any malware that targets QQ,
can i delete my answer for this question.
@karel ask clarification about this to our mods
@AvinashRaj People choose to install dodgy software all the time, but if they have a little bit of information about the software in advance, that gives them a choice. They can install the program, or not install it or try installing the program inside a virtual machine.

@Dew hi
@Mateo - the undecorated settings window/closure/bork problem is fixed now... and it's decorated. looks like we're getting another dependency that isn't in repo (has to be installed with pip - the python v4l2 wrapper here pypi.python.org/pypi/v4l2) for getting and possibly setting the video capture resolution.

@Dew :-)
@Aditya It supports https, but it doesn't default to it. SE certificates don't exactly map to the site name so you get a warning icon anyway. Unless you installed https-everywhere (probable) maybe firefox is starting to default to trying to see if https exists and using it if it does. try it on another site that has both.
@hbdgaf I don't know... It just defaulted to https:// for me on its own... I am not using any such add-ons

Update: we ultimately put this to a vote on each community.

You may have noticed that two similar Area 51 site proposals have reached commitment and launched betas:

You might well ask: aren’t these the very same thing? Why have two communities on the same topic? What, then, is the difference between unix and ubuntu? The answer to this question cuts to the very heart of what community is.

I sometimes wonder what Stack Exchange would look like in an alternate universe; one where we, as Evil Stack Overflow Inc., bypassed the community-process of Area 51 and came up with our own site ideas; a series of logical subjects, neatly organized into their own Q&A sites. …
