11:00
:D
@Amithkk What a bummer, you should definitely get good at After Effects. :)
@Amithkk yes,I am a software developer also
you are Cool!
I think I should start with Ubuntu again :)
Oh that is something you definitely should!
11:01
@ManjotSingh you got best actor award?
yes in 2009
We got a famous person in our room!
I gotta install the Oneiric A1. Never got around to do it lately.
@OctavianDamiean wait for A2
@Amithkk that is not an issue
11:04
Nah, I'll install A2 when it is out next week. ;)
@OctavianDamiean but that too would require some knowledge.I am almost beginner
@ManjotSingh Nah not any .Its easy peasy!
Don't worry, you are on the right site for that.
What will happen with Android,iPhone and Blackberry app development?
it will be there
11:06
Should I leave all mobile app development?
You mean if you can develop for them on Ubuntu?
I am working Mac OSX
@ManjotSingh you are good in android right?
@Amithkk I am not good in any of them.I am just having basic knowledge of all but not expert not in single technology :(
You can certainly develop for Android on Ubuntu and probably even BlackBerry (not sure about that) but you can't develop for iOS.
11:07
@ManjotSingh start with vm!
@Amithkk I'd installed ubuntu in mac for blackberry but that too don't have emulator,so I shifted to Windows
Ah yes I can remember.
For BlackBerry App development on Ubuntu need real device having 6 OS
I started with Python but left in between because of less time :(
The question is, is it wise to do all of those platforms and not concentrate on one?
For survival, sometime you have to do things which you don't like to do.
It still would be more efficient in my opinion.
^updated
I am iPhone Software Developer but I started with Android because my Boss wont be hiring any new Android Software developer and then I started Blackberry Development
So you actually never wanted to develop for Android or BlackBerry.
Yes,I didn't want to develop Android and Blackberry but there is no harm in learning new technologies.I think if one can do development of Android or Blackberry then I can also do :)
11:15
Oh definitely, on the contrary it is very good to explore other fields however I think one should keep focused on one area at a time.
I was having an interest in developing Mac OSX apps.
That was my thinking also but if you don't have any other option then you would have to choose other technologies :)
Oh definitely I do understand your position. If you have to pay checks and there is no other way than doing something that you actually don't really want to then you still do it.
interesting
Like you are also studying Python because you like it.
11:18
If one day your Boss come and request you,Can you please develop some Python apps then how would you react?
same here
@ManjotSingh you have been an actor and a SD!
same here
@ManjotSingh id learn python completely
@Amithkk yes Actor by interest/chance/luck and SD because of pressure
@Amithkk great.I too want to learn Python but don't know when and how?
I too have link of book of Python but as I told you I don't have time.
So you know Python @Amithkk

Amith kkI want a script that dumps the log and starts logging on it as soon as a usb mass storage is plugged (with the file 'OKdump' on it).And if anything abnormal(Like a error that is visually present) is detected i want it to take a screenshot and save it on the same drive.

Q: Unable to Install VirtualBox Due to Missing Kernel Module

SoftTimurI am trying to install VirtualBox on my Ubuntu. I first tried to sudo apt-get install virtualbox-ose in a terminal, but after the configuration step, it fails with an error: No suitable module for running kernel found When proceeding with starting virtualbox, I get this error: WARNING: ...

A bit of searching and voilà.
Wish I'd found that last week. :P
(dad needed that answer for his VM machine)
Also, this is officially bugging me to no end - bugs.launchpad.net/gwibber/+bug/789851
Hi - back from break
13:06

aah mah eyes
no comp boot from a graphic card - how did you brick the driver?
i was using ubuntu when it went into standby and refused to start
Suspend to RAM or hibernate to disk?
13:10

anybody installed google earth?
Hi @Achu: good question! I gave up on that some months ago and never tried again :P
@Achu me did!
13:13
it may need 32-bit... but I'm not sure how things are today
no 64 dosent works
so could you try this destination?
cd /usr/lib/googleearth/
i didnt say i have it now
@Amithkk go to cd /usr/lib/googleearth/
and ls
i had it in my epic Lynx install which was deleted
13:15
ohh
I am fully happy with maps.google atm but miss the flights...
@Takkat cold you tell me the list of /usr/lib/googleearth/ ?
checking
Thanks
i don't have installed google earth
downloading
13:17
is not there - I may have purged it
removed it with all it's remnants
@Amithkk finished?
3 secs
amith@amith-desktop:~$ cd /usr/lib/googleearth/
-bash: cd: /usr/lib/googleearth/: No such file or directory
amith@amith-desktop:~$
deam
/usr/lib64/googleearth ?
@Takkat are you finished scavenging cornflour :P
im not on 64
@Amithkk could you run locate libQt
@Amithkk never mind
13:28
@Amithkk family is still shopping :P where comes the chocolate in?
bye guys
cya @Achu
13:43
i found that 'sudo mv /opt/google/earth/free/libQt* /tmp' makes google earth use GTK+ but it always crashes on startup
and moving the libraries back make it run normally without the gtk+ theme
13:55
does that still work?
@Rinzwind no
the file location has chagne
it is now sudo mv /opt/google/earth/free/libQt* /tmp
add that to your q otherwise ppl will close it as a dupe >:=D
I know
looks like they also removed the -style option
so... the answer is probably "no you can not"...
@Rinzwind there must be a way
why? I think there not being a way is more logical >:-D
13:59
that is the old version. Old version don't count >:-D
it is the current version
from my desktop
