I know that windows 8 and encryption aren't exactly the best of friends, one of my co-workers is experiencing growing pains with his VPN. Apparently windows 8 keeps dropping his connection. Completely unrelated to your situation - but somewhat applicable since windows 8 sucks.

I run Visual Studio in Paralells 8 on my air just fine

but in VMWare it was less than savvy this time last year, so I can only imagine how crappy it still is.

Now the interesting part is the GTX 650 card is from PNY and was on sale for $99 at Best Buy... its a great card for that price. However, the new HDMI cable I bought just happened to be from PNY also... this one - www3.pny.com/category_buymulti.aspx?Category_ID=440 All I can say is that I returned it got a diff. HDMI cable and that also came up immediately and worked. Next stop will be PNY's Customer Service/Support group to let them know their own cable doesn't work with their own GTX 650 video card. — bmullan Jan 28 at 19:39
