@3nafish You should most definately nominate yourself to be a moderator. You do tremendous work on all review queues, and have a sound judgment. You'd be a fit for the job.
@JonW Sounds like a good reason to increase the number of mods then!
@BennySkogbergMCSA Maybe it's down to close votes? Possibility that they aren't counted as all they do is add to the close review queue. This chap in the Math.se election had it even worse - math.stackexchange.com/election/5#post-1058990
@BennySkogbergMCSA I don't think it will matter as you are already considered 1 of the 2 next mods. The race is for 2nd place in my opinion. I really want to be #2 and was at a disadvantage due to my family issue that took away 3 quarters of my year, but what I did in those first 2 to 3 months plus what I could fit in along the way, I believe should be enough for voters to see what I can do.
@BennySkogbergMCSA Thanks for the mention, I have been giving this some thought. I have enjoyed reviewing posts and the moderator role is very much in the same vein.
@CodeMaverick Thank you for your trust in my ability in this race. But I'm not that sure myself. Every election is a new one, and in the SP.SE election I got ahead of several high rep users, since I didn't have more than 5k while I was elected. The same can be true here since I see at least ten real candidates who are equally qualified to be mod.
Both high rep and new stars. You are among those ten, and so are the one I've pinged for nomination. I want the best mods for this site to follow Jons great work
@BennySkogbergMCSA Yea ... I think I said above some of those same people: Evil Closet Monkey, Charles Wesley, Bart Gijssens, etc.
I'm pretty sure I'll get edged out due to the polarity my highly rated answer gets and got. I am usually on an island it seems always defending my stances. But one thing I DO know is that I'm OCD about cleanliness, organization, and fairness, so Jon's work would definitely be continued if I were elected. I look to the future and see this site climbing the ladder. It goes hand-in-hand with Graphic Design and Stack Overflow as far as the full stack goes. No reason it shouldn't gain popularity!
@JonW True that. I haven't seen any closing flags among my 1k handled flags at SP. And what's worse, I haven't reflected over the fact that I don't see them. :-)
I remember we did a run-down on old questions like "Which icon best represent..." And those where flagged to closed as off topic. It wasn't as many as 160, but I took the time to search the archive for icon questions. That may explain some of the amount, but not all.
Another person I'd nominate is @Franchesca. She was seemingly doing what I was doing, just answering and reviewing everything. Got tons of rep in a short period of time. She left great answers. But it seems as if she disappeared after last August except here and there.
@MervinJohnsingh would be another. His answers are impeccable. I don't know of moderating, but if he gave to moderating what he does to his answers, he'd be a great addition.
