In Skyloft, there is bird-like statue with a ruby for its right eye, with nothing in its left. It is located on the top of the rock platforms that traverse the left side of the small lake, on the way up to the waterfall cave. Does this statue have a purpose?

go to the spaceport,
up to the planet's orbital platform,
run to your hanger,
to your ship and get in,
hyperspace to the Fleet,
back out of your ship,

Lanayru Desert is covered with cacti. I realize they hold bombs at a nice height for the beetle to pick them, but do they have another purpose? You can bash on them and get the bark off, but can you destroy them? Do they hide anything valuable?
