Q: Add a Linux distro from another without USB

Allan SmitheeI'm currently dual-booting Win 10 and Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. I used my last flash drive for Ubuntu and I'd like to keep it. I'd also like to try some other Linux distros such as Manjaro and Mint Cinnamon. Can I simply install one Linux distro from another? Seems straightforward, but is it more trouble...

@jokerdino Can you help me please?

user435118
My temperature is: Core 0 is 87 C Core 1 is 92 C

user435118
Is that ok or is that too high?

user435118
I am doing quite a lot of stuff on it but is it ok to run it at that for 8 more hours?

user435118
CPU usage is 98%

10:35 AM
I don't usually track temperature but I do feel it is on the higher side.
@Daniil what kind of stuff? On old hardware, I would suggest to take it slow

10:59 AM
Most processors will shut the computer down after reaching around 100C
Which is to say, 87 and 92 are way too high.

hi there @DavidCarlisle

@jokerdino just passing by:-)

@Daniil Is this happening just with Ubuntu? Is it not running hot on another OS (such as Windows)?

@DavidCarlisle you are most welcome

@jokerdino coincidentally that latex tutorial is running the examples on ubuntu (amazon ec2 instance)

@DavidCarlisle :D
@EliahKagan I have so far used not so easy way to learn LaTeX -- strongly recommend it and been linked to learnlatex.org by the TeX.SE chatroom folks. Second one looks very useful as well.

Q: How to add item to Favorites *silently*?

Zachary TurnerI know how to create a desktop entry for a custom program. I also know how to pin it to my Favorites by right clicking and selecting Add to Favorites. I want to do that last step in silent mode, from a shell script as part of a larger automation process. Is this possible?
