@TheLittleNaruto I prefer to stay in the dark on Muru's suspension. It's comfortable and quiet in here. Everyone can agree he's an accomplished computer expert and Lord knows he has helped me out many times. Yet on a few occasions he's been short with me and what one might call condescending (the good far outweighs the bad in my case). I would speculate a case of the God Delusion that affects many gifted programmers was the root cause but as @terdon states you have to ask Muru.
@Rinzwind chatroom is auto started in my Firefox too and the tab is muted as well because @Fabby likes to ping people to death. I notice he complains when people do it to him though :P
@HardikSharma My 2 cents worth don't install or delete anything starting with Python because it'll kick you in the butt just like so many others I've seen. Just accept what comes with your distro and if you want newer install a newer distro. But that advice is coming from a guy who just learned to spell bash and doesn't know how to spell pithon yet!
@dessert "I am very glad a user’s rep count does not matter at all when it comes to behaviour which justifies a suspension" that is definitely worth a star! We should all be created equal on the internet of anonymity.

@TheLittleNaruto Sorry I made a typo. "God Complex" is what some programmers suffer from. "God Delusion" is what an author named Richard Dawkins or something like that suffers from. Sometimes there seems like there are 7 billion different definitions of God so 6 billion 999 million must be wrong....

@dessert Agree
@Bahamut Shippuden is good. Which episode you're at ?
@WinEunuuchs2Unix what's "God complex" problem?

@TheLittleNaruto "God Complex" = gifted programmer who thinks he's God.

Q: xrdp to ubuntu with Gnome

flashburnI'm running Ubuntu 19.04. Want to xrdp from Windows 10 to Ubuntu with Gnome. Looked everywhere for a guide on how to do it but couldn't find it. There are plenty on how to do it with xfce4 but nothing on how to do it with Gnome. So the question is how do I xrdp to Ubuntu with Gnome? EDIT I found...

@tendon but I am actually in real urgent right now and I do need to ask questions.
@WinEunuuchs2Unix hey there ! I install python3.7 manually by compiling its files and installing its dependencies. But the problem I encountered is that it is installed in usr/local/bin and want it to be in usr/bin. besides when I try sudo update-alternatives --config python3 it says there is no alternative for python3. any help is appreciated.
@WinEunuuchs2Unix I actually want python3 to point to python3.7

Q: Why does changing my home directory in WSL break my PATH but only in the second window in tmux?

leeand00A bit ago, I found it necessary to set my home directory to my One Drive in WSL. Thanks to this post I was even able to get my permissions working correctly within WSL (Ubuntu 16.04 LTS). However, when I use tmux the second /bin/sh pseudoterminal I open gives me an error about the path...but ...

Q: Testing whether an executable can be run on Linux?

Alexis WilkeIn my Ubuntu packages, I install a hook with a one liner script: if test -x /usr/bin/snapsignal then /usr/bin/snapsignal "snapmanagerdaemon/DPKGUPDATE hook_action=\"$DPKG_HOOK_ACTION\"" fi (broken original line on multiple lines so it's easier to read here) The problem is that /usr/bin/sn...

Q: Tmux not setting $HOME

TacoVI noticed a difference in tmux behavior switching from Debian to Ubuntu. Expected / old behavior set the $HOME (and all kind of related settings) according to the user starting the tmux instance: $ echo $HOME /home/tacov $ sudo tmux # echo $HOME /root # exit $ sudo -unachov tmux $ echo $HOME ...

Q: Feature for showing last visited file system locations

sequenceI'm transitioning from MacOS to Linux. In MacOS, there a program called Default Folder X, which embeds itself into Finder (the system file browser) by adding the feature which allows one to navigate through the history of previously browser. It is useful because it saves time by removing the need...
