Hi, I was in the middle of writing an answer when the question, which was useful and answerable IMHO, got deleted. Can it be reopened? Or should I repost the question myself and self-answer it?

@Melebius It wasn't closed. The OP self-deleted it. I don't know why they did. Undelete votes could be cast on it. I don't know how well received answers would be, though, since this is a case of voluntary deletion without closure rather than closure followed by deletion.
If you think you may still want to post your answer on it, I'm willing to cast an undelete vote.

@EliahKagan Thanks for your reply. Yes, I meant undeleted, not reopened. First I wanted to post my answer even if OP was no more interested in it but since my answer is not fully ready yet, I’ll probably just keep the draft for potential later usage.

@Melebius If you think you'll probably want to post an answer on that question, I'll vote to undelete it. You can ping me whenever, and when I see the ping I'll cast my vote. (The answer doesn't really have to be finished first--especially since it would probably take some time for two more users to cast their undelete votes--but if you think you'd probably rather save the answer for another question altogether, then I won't bother voting to undelete the question.)

@Melebius You could also post a self-answered question tailored after the deleted question. @EliahKagan The OP may have realized the solution was deadly simple, overwrote Windows with Ubuntu and deleted the question. He may be embarrassed to have such a simple problem be brought back from the dead.
