Oli got well over 15k in rep from the upvote change :(
So I am back to a 22k difference.
At least now I know who was behind this coupe :+)

@JusticeforMonica I remember once you asked that whether using Pop!_OS's PPA over Ubuntu safe. I think we got an answer from System76's employee. And she mentioned, "We don't recommend adding the Pop! ppa on top of Ubuntu. We apologize for the issues it caused!"

-2 without any explanation, why?
@Rinzwind did no one see the massive banner, saying:

@Kulfy thanks!
However, this person hasn't identified, AFAICT, as a PopOS employee.
She is system76chick :P
I found this.
PS: It's her username on Kubuntu Wiki, launchpad and many other websites.

@damadam A comment below this question which has since been deleted by its author said that Mega requires a token to download files outside of a web browser, however there is also a command-line client for Mega (megatools) in the default Ubuntu repositories.
@karel I wasn't able to read that comment, it seems more like an answer

Hello there
I'm trying to setup the DNS in Ubuntu 18.04 but this has completely changed in the last 5 years
I checked /etc/systemd/resolved.conf
and it's empty
I mean, it has the structure, but the field are all empty
I'm trying to change the DNS because I've noticed I cannot resolve most FQDNs
I believe this problem is related to the proxy
@HéctorÁlvarez better to ask a question ;)
I did, waited for about 5 days, then someone added a comment and downvoted because I didn't answer in less than 24h.
Never again
Also got bashed because I didn't copy-paste the terminal output, but I can't copy it because I can't install vmware tools without making this work
so share the question here
question link*
11:36 AM
@HéctorÁlvarez no you did not get bashed. You got asked to include the text and not an image and the reason is very simple: text is searchable and can be used to copy/paste into google to find similar issues (most questions I answer can be found online with the correct search arguments :P ) and the image you include is not. AU is about sharing, learning about what others faced.
"then someone added a comment and downvoted because I didn't answer in less than 24h. Never again" Hmm sorry but ... that would not be -my- attitude if I want to fix a problem I have.
11:47 AM
@Kulfy maybe someone could ask her to edit the launchpad pages with Pop!OS stuff to include a specific caution about potential issues.
11:57 AM
@Rinzwind Right, but I can't provide that. No VMware tools, no copy to host. Also downvoting someone because they didn't respond immediately is very appalling, and one big reason why every site has to display "New guy here, be kind" because most people answering behave like elitist jerks.
I can't stay blocked for days until someone comes up with a solution, what I did was take an alternative path and keep working, there will be time to revisit the issue and check again.
But I certainly won't give this any priority over my job, this is not a school assignment or something similar that requires me to perform this particular task, I'm working here and my boss wants me to get results, and my solution was to disconnect from that network and try a different one to download stuff until the problem was fixed.
If I come back to a comment like "http://idownvotedbecau.se/beingunresponsive" I simply will try to find help somewhere else.
"Also downvoting someone because they didn't respond immediately is very appalling" You are making an assumption here. We do not know who downvotes. Why can't it have been 2 people? 1 commenting, 1 downvoting?
As a matter of fact i stopped contributing years ago for this very issue. Very straightforward questions marked as "too broad", eventually deleted, person banned for life because he asked a good question but didn't write it as people expect.

Because he left that.
@HéctorÁlvarez where? cuz if I see that I report it. You should stop taking those things personal and ignore them. Trolls are everywhere.
It was a comment on my question
@HéctorÁlvarez please link it into chat
posting something like that will get that user removed from au ;-)
12:09 PM
I deleted the question
No interest in dealing with that from minute 1
let me see if I can send it
I guess the link is still up
but only I can see it
I can too probably (10k+ rep needed iirc)
otherwise we can ask a mod =)
Yep it doesn't really matter
I couldn't even get past the first barrier, today I had a couple hours so I found out this DNS problem
I don't even know if it's the same issue, so I'm going to try
afk :D boss wants to do lunch Back in 30m
12:12 PM
got the linked copied ;-)
On review, this person didn't even provide an answer
just "pinging doesn't work over proxy, use these or those" which helps but doesn't tell me anything new.
but seriously it doesn't matter
I guess he just followed his usual schedule to grab some rep points

@HéctorÁlvarez I flagged the comment for mods.
I love when my supervisor say "do an explanation of something and name it toto"

Q: Is there a way to monitor RAID on ESXi hardware through a VM running Ubuntu?

CrazyHorse019Apologies if this is not the correct place. I am looking to monitor RAID on the 4 ESXi boxes we have at work.
