Can I get a mod to delete the link in my previous comment. The Yay before that was in response to Fabby's comment and not to the Link. I am not trying to show that I am a cold hearted SOB. Thank you!

Q: On one 16.04 system, apache never restarts automatically after apache update -- other systems are fine

Apache UserAmong a cluster of servers all running 16.04 and apache, on one system apache never restarts automatically after it has been upgraded via apt. It restarts fine manually, and at boot. All of the other systems at the same OS and app levels don't have this problem -- apache always restarts automatic...

Q: How to find posts with tag

ubashuI keep finding things with the code tag or the pre tag instead of four spaces or inline code formatting. I want to find these and fix them, replacing them with the better code formatting of the um well formatting. I want to be able to search for this. How can I do this?

WinEunuuchs2UnixA user deleted his question after 1 close vote: https://askubuntu.com/questions/940541/sh-file-not-executing-on-startup-via-crontab Only 10k users can see this main-board question I think. Hence the title for this question on meta. I was given the option to "un-delete" this question and my quic...

Q: How are private keys in /etc/ssl/private supposed to be used?

HilikusI have installed a certificate and its private key in a server: the certs (root self signed and intermediate) in /usr/local/share/ca-certificates and the private key in /etc/ssl/private (is this ok? the certs get moved by update-ca-certificates but the key was installed directly in /etc/ssl). But...

Q: Docker filesystem has no open files but cannot unmount

RichVelI have an ext4 filesystem mounted on /var/lib/docker, using Ubuntu 14.04. I ran umount /var/lib/docker and got: umount: /var/lib/docker: device is busy. I had already shut down docker with service docker stop and ps aux showed no processes. The strange thing is that both fuser -M /var/lib/...

@cl-netbox: Good afternoon! :)

@ParanoidPanda Hi my friend ! :) Good afternoon to you ! :) How are you doing today ?

user136984
@cl-netbox: I am much better now, how are you? :)

@ParanoidPanda Great news :) I'm fine, thank you ... just read an article about Tilix -> opensource.com/article/17/7/tilix-extreme-terminal-emulation :)

user136984
@cl-netbox: Sounds interesting!

@ParanoidPanda maybe I install it later -> gnunn1.github.io/tilix-web Info : Tilix is available in Arch Linux via the Arch User Repository (AUR) as the AUR Tilix Package ... For Fedora 26 and newer, Tilix is available in the default repository. :)

5:20 PM
@cl-netbox: Maybe I'll have a look at it sometime then! :)

@ParanoidPanda seems to be an interesting project ... something similar to Dustin Kirkland's byobu.co in ubuntu :)

5:34 PM
@cl-netbox good news, except the providers kind of made me of fool, stating they couldn't offer lower speeds just to sell a higher one, when they actually could, but I'm seeing what I can do about it :p

@IanC how high is the speed they sold you ? normally, the higher the speed, the better - or am I wrong ? :)

6:09 PM
How do you convince someone that there is only one keyring file?

6:29 PM
You have to be the Lord of the rings to do that.
Lord of the keyrings that is.

Christ

@cl-netbox 100mbps theoretical (they hardly deliver exactly the speed they sell, because of the laws that allow them to deliver a percentage of it)
But I don't need much speed since I'll do basic navegation, no gaming or anything, and I could use the cheaper fees of smaller speed packages..

6:47 PM
"Lord of the keyrings" LOL =)

Guys, can we VTC this one pls ?askubuntu.com/q/279686/295286 The voted duplicate is 1) has accepted answer that actually shows the steps and not just gives couple links. and 2) the duplicate has 73 upvotes, far above the given question - only 12
Also in other news . . . I'm starting to love markup more and more @_@ I'm probably going to be making use of it in my personal notes

Q: Syntax highlighting in <pre> block?

Sergiy KolodyazhnyySo I've discovered that I can make code blocks with <pre> tag. Great ! Now I can write markup in vim and copy the resulting text into answer text box (instead of pasting answer and script separately, and running a script on a script which indents the scrip...you get the idea). Problem is it lacks ...

What is it with people and omitting <title> tags on pages?
You have no idea how ugly a URL looks in the tab.

General laziness, I suppose

I mean, look how ugly it is.

user136984
It's normally text based websites that they haven't put that much work into.

Q: Did JFK call himself a jelly donut in his famous Berlin speech?

medicaThis morning, in an attempt to find inspiration for a name for my new puppy (who is a great talker), I googled "great orators". The second hit took me here, where JFK is again listed as one of history's great orators. However, I was surprised to read, Perhaps President’s Kennedy’s finest orat...

AAAAAArgv . . . .There's basically 5 people working today, which means I cannot find anyone to cover my lunch

Mmmmmmm Cupbop for my lunch today. Didn't need to find someone to cover my shift. ;)

user136984
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy: You could use some cardboard. ;P

One guy I worked with took a pic of him sitting at his desk, then printed it out and taped the top of his pic to the top of his monitor and it was eerily close to looking like him there all the time. :)

@SergiyKolodyazhnyy I think he meant cardboard as replacement for you, not your food

8:27 PM
LOL

Can I make a cardboard replacement for my partner who's not here today ?

These guys actually look pretty real on first sight.

user136984
@ByteCommander @SergiyKolodyazhnyy: No, what I meant is to cover the lunch with it: "I cannot find anyone to cover my lunch"! :D

If you ignore the white portion of the paper at their feet - yeah

user136984
As in to put it on top of the lunch.

user136984
8:30 PM
Never mind, it was a strange joke! :D

@ParanoidPanda No, I understood what you were saying, and I get the humor. And well, my lunch is physically covered. What I mean, though, is that I need someone to come and replace me for 30 minutes.

Cardboard = More Fiber for your diet. Right?

OK, you actually made me lol

user136984
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy: I get what you're saying too! :P

user136984
Although at first I did think you meant physically until I read the next message! :D

8:34 PM
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy You could quickly create a holographic projector that makes it look like you are still there. ;)

user136984
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy: Put a Baguette or two up your sleeves and then eat at your desk!

user136984
;D

@Terrance now that's a nice idea for a project !

Powered by Raspberry Pi. :)

@ParanoidPanda My ethics don't allow me to do so. I'm the one who's supposed to be yelling at students for having food and drink out in the lab

8:37 PM
Here that is grounds for getting you fired without warning.

Luckly a coworker of mine agreed to cover me in an hour

user136984
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy: Exactly! So yell at them while you are very obviously 'secretly' eating! ;P

Nice!!
I really don't think OP's question is answerable because of the term 'Default' appeared some where. What would you use to VTC the question?

An old guy places the phone into charging locker, and says the passcode out loud for pretty much the whole lab to hear. face palm of the day

@SergiyKolodyazhnyy: Maybe you should let him know.

I could but I don't think he'll listen and I'm risking being overly annoying.

9:03 PM
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy: Then go and hack his phone! >:P

user136984
This is really quite interesting:

this LG WifiOffDelayIfNotUsed wakelock is literally the worst
I can't use WakeBlock to block it because then system_server crashes when I turn off the screen
so now I've just had to modify a framework jar so it's never acquired
and now it's time to test
