Nice thing ... I installed the krita snap on my wife's notebook ... works great ... krita is a KDE application, so I don't have to mess up the system with all those KDE dependencies

@AbhiAdr It could be a hundred different things. You can try installing the cpufrequtils package. Open up the Terminal app and type sudo apt-get install cpufrequtils, then hit "Y" when it prompts you. That might help

Q: How to use lm-sensors?

I wanted to install a package to monitor the temperature of my CPU called lm-sensors. According to Synaptic, it's already installed. Can someone give me some simple step-by-step instructions on how I can actually run it from the command line or otherwise?

A friend of me once edited his YT cookies and then got recommendations and ads for farming machines, straw, etc. xD

Probably that poor farmer then was surprised by getting Techno music recommendations.

@Zacharee1 Dangerous mix. But YouTube ads are based on everything Google sees you doing. That includes visiting content about cars and/or booze that has Google Analytics or Adsense code running on it.

Even more than that, some publishers (eg Amazon, Ebay) are allowed to influence the whole network behaviour based on your activity on that third party site. Not just for their ads.

I installed Windows 7, which ate Ubuntu's boot file. When starting up the computer, it now goes straight to Windows, without giving me the option of booting Ubuntu. How can I get Ubuntu back?

For example, you're on Facebook and a friend links to an article about cheese on hats4dogs.com. You click that. Their analytics code links your session back to you and Google can file you under in the "interested in dog hats" pigeon hole.

Otherwise, I am okay with marking as dupes, because source questions usually contains very good answers.

And I would like to mention one thing. Its is not offensive to the users if we close their questions as Duplicate. If one of my question is marked as dupe, I would thank the close voters for pointing me in the right direction. Marking as Duplicates is a good way of helping people. @cl-netbox

It won't be possible with regexes unless we limit the possibilities somehow. If someone decides to spell Ubuntu as Akundo, it's going to be pretty hard to catch.
