To be fair though, this battery's pretty puny
Is there a way to set the mac frequency of the CPU in Ubuntu? Windows let's you do it

Man. Etcher is seriously nice.

brb. gonna take out my battery

I think so...
If that helps at all

49Wh sigh
@RPiAwesomeness Opposite of I want and I'm too lazy to figure out how to modify it :p

Well I got maybe 4hrs sleep last night
But I didn't feel tired at all the whole day
Except my brain seemed to just not quite be working
Now, thankfully, I'm feeling tired, but I may see you all at around 1AM EDT

12:15 AM
Eh, all I can smell is bleach. Need to clean overrode geekdom today.

??
You know what's great about having CM13? I can send the middle finger emoji :D

Fun times.

¿wat?

not much

12:19 AM
o/ @Mateo

I got a laptop hd today, a low power one... for the pi. So, now I have to do something that requires storage space for the pi.

I really need to learn Java....
@hbdgaf porn?

hm, intresting
pi 2?
hi @RPiAwesomeness

Yes, old pi2.
I'm thinking about revisiting pistols for pandas and using some of the machine learning stuff i'm studying now.

Anonymous
@hbdgaf I actually liked that movie

12:21 AM
wonder if the owncloud snap will easily hook to a external

@onebree It was pretty great

I need to remember to use Firefox when I'm on battery

@RPiAwesomeness FF uses more resources than Chrome, at least with Windows

Anonymous
@RPiAwesomeness Or just always use Firefox

@onebree Chromium is faster, at least for me :/
So I switched
I tried sticking with Firefox for a while, but Chromium just supports web features better and is faster

12:23 AM
Did anyone else have that problem where FF would always freeze up on any site that had Flash elements?
That's the main reason I went to Chrome

@RPiAwesomeness yeah, I usually just pop it up for gdrive and stuff - chrome seems to freeze up for some reason

@RPiAwesomeness Chrome works. Using a browser is like buying a gun. You get one that will work all the time. The ammo might be expensive or hard to find, but it works... so you use it.

@Zacharee1 dont have that problem - no flash installed ;P

@hbdgaf Yeah

so only open chrome for the one thing I would still use that for

12:25 AM
@Mateo sigh

Firefox isn't that bad though

@Mateo is the purest purist in the forest right now. And that's okay.

@hbdgaf And it may end up going off when you least expect it
@hbdgaf ah, English
@RPiAwesomeness not anymore. It's actually really fast

@Zacharee1 Yeah, it has sped up. There was a while it got quite slow
Chromium is still faster though :P

heh
I remember when FF had that spurt of updates
It was like 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 all in one week

12:27 AM
/me is being amazing and super l337 h4x0r by ethernet SSH-ing to his headless Pi

@RPiAwesomeness scrub

@RPiAwesomeness 10 points. now do something with it for 100 points.

Oh, believe me, I am
Working on a touchscreen raspberry pi project

That was more a sleight to @Zacharee1 than an observation directed at you. I didn't think you wanted to not do anything with it.

Wow...not sure why, but FF just got really laggy
Seriously.
@hbdgaf :)

12:32 AM
@hbdgaf wat

@Zacharee1 You never know about people. It's almost never a good idea to call someone a scrub.

#Scrub

@RPiAwesomeness - you owe me a keyboard

@hbdgaf scrub's turned into a very sarcastic and silly insult

eh, my humor gets dark pretty quick... so it's usually reserved for not here.

12:36 AM
o_O

@hbdgaf Wait...wut

@RPiAwesomeness the keyboard thing is my way of saying that was really funny. in theory, you made me spill random beverage of choice on the keyboard

@hbdgaf Ah, fair enough

subtle humor
to the extreme

Ugh. Why does it take so long to install software on the pi?

12:47 AM
It's not exactly what I'd call powerful

Yeah, but...it's just pip

Maybe it stopped to eat some pie

1:11 AM
I wish I could do that.

Anyone know how to enable a service in systemd on a mounted disk?

systemctl enable SERVICENAME?

@RPiAwesomeness Yes, but I'm enabling it on an SD card for my Pi.
I can't access the Pi, so I need to enable it while the SD card is mounted.

Q: Mic input ignored in Win7 HVD running from Ubuntu 15, 16, but not 14

David M. KarrThe actual symptom I'm seeing is on Windows 7, but I think the root cause is in Ubuntu. Hi, I'm using ubuntu desktop. But the ctrl + alt + F7 freezes. What should I do?

@NathanOsman you just need to train a monkey to climb up the tree, grab your microSD card, put it in your PC and upload the data to your computer then reverse, at a predetermined time....

Er, no.

unfortunately if you didn't hear yesterday, I am color-blind...
Color blindness, or color vision deficiency, is the inability or decreased ability to see color, or perceive color differences, under normal lighting conditions. Color blindness affects a significant percentage of the population. There is no actual blindness but there is a deficiency of color vision. The most usual cause is a fault in the development of one or more sets of retinal cones that perceive color in light and transmit that information to the optic nerve. This type of color blindness is usually a sex-linked condition. The genes that produce photopigments are carried on the X chromosome...
bye then

@Zacharee1 I like your recent answer on gedit. The original question about downgrading was for people who still needed missing plug-ins. For the rest of us, best answer is get used to it or find a new editor.

@Videonauth what did you break?

12:24 PM
i got another ssd today and now want to make my main machine dualboot but ubuntu doesnt play nice :p
im happy i tried this only with aa new hdd so i dont wreck up my windows instalation for now
if everything runs fine i might go on and reinstall windows for being only a gameplay system
but nothing else then
wow at least wifi works out of the box :D

um...I think it is easiest to install windows first, then Ubuntu.
But if you reinstall grub after installing windows Grub should add it...

How can you force update 14.04 to 16.04? sudo do-release-upgrade does not work in one of my systems.
@Videonauth Are you ok?

switch the machine to notify of each update then go via 15.10 to 16.04 or wait for the 16.04.1 release
yes im ok so far, my eye hurts still a little but so far i m fine

indeed
god it seems ubuntu doesnt like logitech radio mouse and keyboard

no ideas there. the only probs i've had with mouse/kb were related to a dirty trackpad
doing anything interesting? i'm reading a field guide to genetic computing (available free CC from lulu) and clever algorithms today

12:46 PM
well im hanging in the geparted screen and cant select my drive because the mouse and keyboard became completely unresponsive

that sucks
thinking about taking the case hinge off my old laptop and turning it in to a 17" smart TV and emulator box

indeed :) ubuntu instalation on my laptop wen so smooth
but well, i dont know what ubuntu wil do if i simply choose install alongside windows
i have only one empty drive in that system

as long as uefi is disabled, it's really straightforward. even with uefi enabled it's doable, but can be trickier

but i not want it to kill any data drives

then don't

12:51 PM
no uefi, im still on legacy
in worst case i burn an install disc of 15.10 and then upgrade to 16.04

you mean to say you don't have a usb keyboard and mouse laying around for emergencies?

i have a keyboard but no mouse :)
this i now connected

1:06 PM
ok if i tell ubuntu to use windows system reserved partition for bootloader install this is like installing alongside windows ?
well ill will see in worst case i have to fix the MBR :D

1:21 PM
installer crashed ....
sighs

1:47 PM
if i remove ubuntu partitions from windows 7 then windows 7 boot loaded will stay?

2:10 PM
@RaviG. depends on how you do it
Backing up's a good idea. Reinstalling the bootloader from windows, then deleting the paritions from there is a good idea IMO

@JourneymanGeek They should but they don't.
