my best is meh . . . I mean, I was doing OK, two exams - 93% and 85% , something like that. I got basically A and B on first two exams. But last one was just . . . 4Uc|<
kind of want to link the bender meme " your best is an idiot "
@Zacharee1 literally all the carriers had unlimited for years, and then they all dumped unlimited because they "couldn't handle the bandwidth". I see we're back to square 1 again.
@NathanOsman so it's like TMO: you have unlimited data, but it's 2G speeds (so dialup). You pay for an allotment of LTE data, which can include "unlimited"
@Seth oh, yeah. But now we have LTE, which has quite a high bandwidth
T-Mobile is trying to be nice to its customers, not kill net neutrality
it's also interesting, because all streamed video is optimized by default, so it uses less of your data
even if you don't have Binge On (comes with 6GB or more data)
I really like Music Freedom though. It's included on the 2GB plan (which I have). I've streamed about 730MB with Spotify, and none of it is counting against my allotment
I am trying to install hashcat on ubuntu i typed apt-get install hashcat on terminal it is returned no result so i went to packages.ubuntu.com and searched hashcat it is returned zesty as result
Also tryed on synaptics there is no hope what is happening here any help
@Zanna sudo do-release-upgrade Checking for a new Ubuntu release No new release found
/etc/update-manager/release-upgrades and it is set to normal also
@Zanna sudo apt-get dist-upgrade [sudo] password for arun: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these. The following packages have unmet dependencies: libc-dev-bin : Depends: libc6 (> 2.24) but 2.23-0ubuntu4 is installed libc6-dbg : Depends: libc6 (= 2.24-3ubuntu1) but 2.23-0ubuntu4 is installed libc6-dev : Depends: libc6 (= 2.24-3ubuntu1) but 2.23-0ubuntu4 is installed libgdk-pixbuf2.0-dev : Depends: libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 (= 2.34.0-1ubuntu2) but 2.32.2-1ubuntu1.2 is installed
So, a messed up upgrade? Well as i said one possible solution, with no garantuee that it'll work is to download YAkkety ISO, out it on a stick and try a repair installation. But backup your data beforehand please because if this wont work out it might be a full new install needed
Fact is if you want to correct all issues by hand by running apt install or even worse download dep packages from the main repository and install them with dpkg its more hassle free this way
and make a note to self, to never never pause or freeze a distribution upgrade
some programms it my have wanted to delete might have existed still in nodes to make them run, and freezing the prozess may have freed those nodes
@Videonauth :) Now i am trying some commands similar to @Zanna has showed on other post if its not working well i will go for a fresh installation from a cd
@the_velour_fog not necessarily, but yes i tend to do fresh installations instead of upgrades myself for exact that reason, even thou upgrading my laptop back in the days from 15.10 to 16.04 was flawless

If i want to trouble shoot thease errors and do manually what i have to do?
Otherway around where i can start?
I am getting this also from package manager
Check if you are using third party repositories. If so disable them, since they are a common source of problems. Furthermore run the following command in a Terminal: apt-get install -f
Well you begin to install every package it has mentioned by hand, so where apt install -f fails and packages are missing you go to the repository pages of ubuntu here and download them by hand and install them via dpkg -i <packagename>
This involves as well downloading their dependencies by hand and do those beforehand
pretty tedious prozess if you ask me
third party will be more or less hassle free mostly
just for the sake of repairing move the contents of /etc/apt/sources.list.d out of the directory temporarily to prevent confusion
like i said a repair install or even better a clean install is the more suitable and hassle free way
Then you have a fresh clean start and the possibilities given to mess your system up once more :D
But to be honest if you need your machine for work, production, you're better off with the repair install/fresh install time wise. Repairing by hand may take hours if not days, a fresh install including installing your software again a few hours if you're working efficiently
You can use dpkg --get-selections >> program-list.asc to make yourself a list of whats currently installed on your system (sadly includes the system files as well but a good list to work down from on a fresh install never the less).
I have spent today refactoring a - too complicated - shell function which wraps apt-get install. I it use to install about 50 packages whenever I do a new OS install. so once I get a clean install I download and run the shell script and the function installs the packages
like Videonauth says, I have more success just re-install than trying to understand and troubleshoot apt
Hi Greetings, I have a question here askubuntu.com/q/855738/283472 gnome-settings-daemon : Depends: gnome-settings-daemon-schemas (= 3.22.0-1ubuntu1) but 3.22.1-0ubuntu1 is to be installed
Would highly appreciate if someone help me to figure out it
What's your Ubuntu version? Could you add the contents of the /etc/apt/sources.list file on your question? @MYaseen208
what the error is saying is that the package gnome-settings-daemon requires the package gnome-settings-daemon-schemas in an older version than what is available (it requires 3.22.0-1ubuntu1 and the available one is 3.22.1-0ubuntu1)
Please don't do this @MYaseen208. Don't post a stub of a question with no detail on the main site and then give the necessary detail here. That way your question is useless to anyone else. Please go and edit your question and add the information there.
Hello everyone, the following question is important for my job and not for the private used. I hope someone can help me. I try to compile Qt on Ubuntu in my VirtualBox for crosscompiling for raspberry. http://askubuntu.com/q/855697/625763
All tries to keep it working didn't take effect. It's a brandnew installation of Ubuntu and I followoed the tutorial stepbystep.. -.- Thanks!
@terdon is this the new way for questions to be handled ? author posts a question and recieves his answer in a fairly short amount of time via comments and then removes his question? --> askubuntu.com/questions/855749/…
@cl-netbox the new online timesheet system for one of my agencies... let's just say i had some unsatisfactory conversations with the site dev and I'm not optimistic about the interface becoming more useable any time soon...
@Zanna I trashed my last (expensive) canon printer when it died after a short period of (troublesome) usage and never bought any new printer again ! :)
@JourneymanGeek hahaha ... then you were more than very lucky ! :) My multi-functional CANON MP was just the thing I needed and wanted, but ... as I said ... it died after a short period of time once it wasn't covered by warranty anymore. :)
