Purging updates the latest stuff from your account :)

@IanC hmm, i don't see your icon change. Will have to wait. As for buffer overflow, nevermind - i misread the code. Seems fine. It's possible to cause it with fgets though, it's not entirely safe, from what i remember. ISO C might be used for portability, but unlink works only on files. remove() works with both. At least that way you can ensure you're removing the right stuff. Like i said, it's also my personal preference

@Zacharee1 My queues are done for now.
Time for bed...

It might take around 6-8 hours
night byte

good night @ByteCommander

besides, remove() underneath the hood calls unlink() , so meh, same thing

2:04 AM
@Serg I'm always a little paranoid when handling strings on C, I actually wrote a personal reference on some functions I use often like strncpy, strncat, and others, to know exactly until where in the buffer they go
funny thing is it's not really standardized, some functions interpret n as the last index, and others interpret n as the string length (so they go up to n-1)
fgets goes up to n-1, which I think is how all the functions should do it

fgets() reads in at most one less than size characters from stream and stores them into
the buffer pointed to by s. Reading stops after an EOF or a newline. If a newline is
read, it is stored into the buffer. A terminating null byte ('\0') is stored after the
last character in the buffer.(from man fgets)
daym . . . this wasabi looks weird, but it's strong
( i'm eating sushi , FYI)

I'm eating something more better

so if we have char buffer[1024];, fgets(buffer, 1024, file);will read at most 1023 chars (index 0 up to 1022), and '\0' goes at index 1023, think it's fine :)
@Serg man, I really like japanese food but I don't really like wasabi

Oil-boiled sushi. :)

@IanC yeah, because strings have to be padded with '\0' . Which is ok. And if newline is encountered, it also goes into the buffer, so you could have something like ['a','\n','n','e','w',\0] array

2:13 AM
but Reading stops after an EOF or a newline, means he would stop at ['a', '\n', '\0'] and then the next fgets would start at ['n', 'e', 'w', '\0'], right?

Swifffffftttt
Immmmaaacoddeeee

@IanC no, reading continues if there's a newline '\n' . It goes into the buffer as any other character
oh, wait

There are two ways to store variable-length strings: (1) store the size with the string (2) use a terminator.

> " Reading stops after an EOF or a newline. If a newline is
read, it is stored into the buffer. "
This is confusing ^

In nearly all languages, '\0' (NUL) is that terminator.

2:15 AM
salmon.

No, "salmon" is not a trigger for the bot.
:D

No, I'm eating salmon.
not bacon. It's breakfast.

@Serg that means that IF it finds a '\n', it stops reading there and include the '\n' in the buffer. But in case it doesn't find a newline, it will read the length specified only including the string terminator in the end ('\0')

@IanC so it is possible to have trailing newline in fgets , stackoverflow.com/a/13443815/3701431 Also, he's using sizeof(buffer) inside fgets , that's better for consistency

@Serg if the newline isn't found, there is the possibility it reaches the EOF, in which case it stops reading too (only adding the NULL character)

Q: indicator-network and related controls not working on Ubuntu phone

Paulo NeselloI'm having a few problems with my Aquaris 4.5 Ubuntu phone. The indicator-network screen shows nothing. Meaning I can't see wi-fi and 3G networks on the "push from top" screens. Also, I can't switch such options on the config scope (The only one that work related to connections is "plane mode"). ...

man, these sushi aren't the best . . . too dry and fall apart easily
meh, i should have gone to actual sushi restaurant for take out instead of local store

yeah, I think I'll use sizeof() in the final function, makes more readable, 1024 was just a magic number for testing

@Serg Should this be closed? It wouldn't really be fair to close though, since the OP can't upgrade. chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/32806252#32806252

@KazWolfe Rooted Android > jailbroken ios

2:40 AM

i know
wanna know the good part edity?

i can't restore my iTunes backup because i can't trust the computer.

the trust popup doesn't come up

You've now downloaded a virus that is destroying your iPhone.
rendering it useless.

@Zacharee1 even the part 4 ? the ending with the scooper room ?

it was a bad idea to jailbreak
why did you jailbreak

@Edity *don't buy iPhones

Semi-untether is the new mode of jailbreak

yeah, buy lg watches!

@KazWolfe how?

2:46 AM
Pangu released a 9.3.3 exploit that's completely userland.

yeah, but that's how they've all been since A5

it doesn't interface with kernel at all, and must be re-applied at every boot, but you don't need a computer to do that.

ohh

it installs an app that exploits something in colord or something

so the definition's been slightly changed

2:47 AM
and then jailbreaks/forces a respring

see, I'd call that a hack for a full jailbreak

and apparently i managed to do something in my jailbroken state that nuked my entire device.

@KazWolfe that happens

oh, i know what went wrong.
i know exactly what went wrong. I uninstalled Substrate and didn't disable stashing.

2:47 AM

then i tried running it again. and everything went to hell.

2:58 AM
