@kos: There will be something in the middle, but for now I would prefer just to figure out this bit, as I can do the rest myself.

Tim
Anyone know what emulator this is:

Q: Ubuntu Touch emulator does not run app

Nuno BatalhaI'm having troubles to run the default project app. It simply shows "Waiting for your emulator to get ready". After it is already running. The emulator is using a kit with 14.04 framework. So does the project. I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

@ByteCommander I went for too broad i think

user136984
@kos: So is there a way to convert it all to binary and then back again?

user136984
:)

kos
@ParanoidPanda Ok so the easiest solution is finding a hex editor which allows you to edit directly in decimal (if you find decimal easier), there really should be one

@Tim Has already 3 votes on unclear.

kos
9:03 PM
@ParanoidPanda Doesn't the convert to dec ->printf -> edit -> convert to hex method work?

user136984
@kos: Yes, but I specifically need to have it converted to binary, as the middle bit will need to work with binary, so at some point I need it in binary, I don't mind how it gets there, or how it reconstructs, but it does need to go to binary.

user136984
Although perhaps I could convert it to decimal instead...

user136984
Actually, that might still work...

user136984
@kos: So how do I convert it to decimal?

kos
@ParanoidPanda I meant hexdump (to convert to hexadecimal) -> printf (to convert to decimal / binary or whatever) -> edit -> convert back to binary if needed
Also there might be an option to read in binary directly, but I don't know it.
Actually let me search for this

user136984
9:08 PM
@kos: I'm not fully clear on how to actually use printf though to achieve this...

@ParanoidPanda It's sterile food for bees...

user136984
@Fabby: Nope, it's there for me to eat it. ;)

But there is this terrible predator that steals the food from them and they're called: humans! :D

kos
@ParanoidPanda For example printf "%d" 0xF will print Fhex in decimal, which is 15

Anyone up for +50 repz on SO?

user136984
9:12 PM
@Fabby: When I say "me" I am not necessarily saying that I am human...

kos
@ParanoidPanda The other way around is printf "%x" 15, which will print 0xF

user136984
@Fabby: Do you really have no idea what I am talking about?

@RPiAwesomeness Always - if it's easy...

@ParanoidPanda The same predator that steals the food of young animals, and eats their flesh, also eats bird embryo's and drinks urine!

9:13 PM
@ByteCommander ... maybe? :D

They just call it meat, eggs and alcohol... ;-)

Q: Gtk3 TextBuffer.serialize() returns text with format tags, even when there is visually none

RPi AwesomenessI'm working with a Gtk TextView/TextBuffer in my project where the user is able to type in rich text (bold/italic/underline) by selecting the correct toggle buttons. The problem is that if I apply the underline or italic Pango flag to text within the TextView, then turn off italic/underline and ...

Python...

Currently reading a tutorial about regexes in Py3
:)

9:14 PM
@ParanoidPanda apparently not...
>:)

@ByteCommander Also, I'm not gonna be able to debate you until some time tomorrow/tuesday. We're leaving to go out of state tomorrow morning and so I'll kinda not have internet :P

sudo shutdown www.inter.net

user136984
@Fabby: I was quoting a bear whose limbs do not touch his body...

My last holidays in my life... :P

>_< so mush dust in me room !
Thank you Serg . It seems it's a real problem in the Ubuntu system. Can I help developers of this system to upload a video I filmed myself to this problem "out source screen capture" ? — Eslam Helaly 39 mins ago
This guy wants to submit video bug report oO

@RPiAwesomeness No idea out of the blue...
I'll look at it later again maybe...

k. I'm seriously stuck on this :(

user136984
@Fabby: Винни-Пух!!!

I've been trying to figure this darn thing out for about a week now :P

9:20 PM
Oh.
That's a lot.
Then don't expect me to find it within an hour...

kos
@ParanoidPanda Try this: dd if=inputfile | od -i, it should print the whole file directly in decimal

I am just reading my first Py tutorials for about a week maybe.

user136984
@kos: And how would I convert that output back into the directory with all of its structure intact?

user136984
@Serg: Do you know Винни-Пух?

@ParanoidPanda yeah ^_^

user136984
9:23 PM
:D

user136984
He is great!

user136984

user136984

meh, i like them all

@hbdgaf: shall I just tell him I talked to you and that your life has taken you in another direction and that therefore you're not interested?
Good night again. REALLY shutting down now!

@Fabby hi and bye o/

9:27 PM

You guys are really discussing Winnie the pooh?

Hi @Fabby @Serg o/

user136984

What do you guys think of my prompt ?

@ParanoidPanda Looking into this

user136984
@kos: You are looking into Винни-Пух?

9:28 PM
This is not the crusader cross, is it?

yeah, also known as iron cross
Just thought to add something cool
<.< hope it is not racist or anything

Hmm... Don't know.

It is used for motorcycles and stuff in USA

Last night I was just looking through different utf characters

It's much older than Nazi...

kos
9:29 PM
@A.B. Thanks for the control panel suggestion by the way, I have been off for some days and i didn't tell you but for some reasons I don't have that option in the control panel. Thanks tough, I'll figure this out somehow (referring to my pink/purple colors in place of the light orange)

But outside of that... Not sure

>_< oh gawd, hope i won't be mistaken for nazi

kos
@ParanoidPanda What is that?

@kos whinnie the poo, russian edition
not
not poo, pooh

Well, theoretically even the swastika is the buddhist (?) symbol for the sun...

9:30 PM
oh gawd

But nobody thinks of that today when they see it.

@ByteCommander yeah, but nowadays people don't look at what things meant 1000 years ago, symbols are hardcoded into our modern culture

True and bad.

kos
@Serg Oh gosh I know I have the sense of humor of a 4 years old but I'm dying at Winnie the poo

user136984
@ByteCommander: It is also an Indian peace symbol I seem to recall... I know some Indian shops which still have it on table mats they sell...

kos
9:31 PM
Lol

@kos >_< that's why i am an engineering major, i can't spell yo !

Tim
The swastika is the Hindu Peace symbol rotated by 45 degrees.

Hindu. Not Buddhist. Might also be true...

user136984
I love xkill!

user136984
I can kill any process with a GUI even if it is run as root and I don't run xkill as root!

user136984
9:34 PM
>:)

so what symbols would be cool and non-offensive (if it is even possible in out modern society)
@ParanoidPanda itz one of my favs

user136984
Anyway...

Hrm... List to chose from?

☢ ?
This is a list of Unicode characters. == Character reference overview == An HTML or XML numeric character reference refers to a character by its Universal Character Set/Unicode code point, and uses the format &#nnnn; or &#xhhhh; where nnnn is the code point in decimal form, and hhhh is the code point in hexadecimal form. The x must be lowercase in XML documents. The nnnn or hhhh may be any number of digits and may include leading zeros. The hhhh may mix uppercase and lowercase, though uppercase is the usual style. In contrast, a character entity reference refers to a character by the name of an...

Goodnight and may Винни-Пух be with you! ;)

@Serg A political party. What's your country?

Well, I am in US and am US citizen, but originally from Ukraine. ex-USSR

Yes, good night o/

9:38 PM
The Green Party of the United States (GPUS) is a green political party in the United States founded in 1984 as a federation of state green parties. With its founding, the Green Party of the United States became the primary national Green organization in that country, eclipsing the Greens/Green Party USA, which emphasized non-electoral movement building. The Association of State Green Parties (ASGP), a forerunner organization, first gained widespread public attention during Ralph Nader's Presidential run. At the state legislature level the party has several members elected, including in California...
They're actually called "The Greens" there too...

What does this Python raw String regex stand for? r"Python\.$"
So the regex is only Python\.$
$ means it has to be at the end of the String.
But why \. ?
And what does [0-9][0-9] .* do?

Id guess a string with number from 00 to 99 there

The tutorial says it is a String containing at least once a number 0-9 and finishes with a space.
But I don't understand why?
