Q: How do I create a shortcut for a script, and run it as a .desktop file?

I have installed Teamspeak onto my Ubuntu 15.10 system. Teamspeak requires a script to be ran in-order to start. How can I create a symbolic link that is a .desktop so I can open the .desktop file, and have it run the script? I have looked at a few methods, but they all seem like hotfixes. Is the...

Mine sleeps mostly with my dad, though occasionally comes to me,too.

Hah. My dad's dog is a new people attention whore, so if/when he shows up or I go there, it sleeps with me instead. It's funny that way. If I'm there for say... two week though... and he has a lady over, I'm no longer the new meat. So, doesn't come near me any more.

For some reason, Sprint only works along the I-95 corridor in my area, same with T-Mobile. If I go a ways south then AT&T is an option.

I'm most likely moving from VZW to Sprint and, if I do, my connection will go from 1bar 2G average to about 4bars 4G LTE

Oh, I have 4G and am not far from a tower, connectivity is great for me. Well, great so long as I'm on Verizon or US Cellular. I guess I could get a "nationwide" roaming plan from another carrier but those seem to be pretty slow on the tower, I think they use a different protocol? I'm not sure.

Or I can just not worry about the cell phone except when I'm out and about - which is what I do. Then, I usually just use it for phone calls and for a little browsing while I'm waiting for something. :D

How expensive is the service?

I dunno? A lot. I pay for more bandwidth than I use. Whatever the 25 GB plan is worth.

@Serg Either C/C++ or Python. 99% of the stuff out there is one of those two.

Sure, a handful of stuff is written in C# (using Mono) and there's a few Java apps (Eclipse). But the big languages are C/C++ and Python.

Most of the big GUI frameworks have Python bindings, so pick whichever you feel most comfortable with.

I am biased towards Qt :)

Other options include wxWidgets, GTK, FLTK, etc.

(There's TkInter, but trust me, you don't want to go there.)

If you do decide to go with C++ and Qt, at least I'll be able to help you get started :)

Once you grasp the class hierarchy, it's pretty easy.
