Yes, I know about it... not very used to, and in a chat this feels so... wrong

Also, if you click the arrow icon that shows up at the right end of a chat line when hovering your mouse over it, you can mark the message you're responding to. Very helpful in long discussions.

it's a chat. a spoken word is a spoken word. Can't "edit" it. Or shouldn't :P

That's why you get a few minutes to edit out a typo, nothing else. :P

And if I'm watching, funny typos get called out and people can look it up in the edit history.

Sure, but this is weak to the point where the first arch of m is barely visible at lower font sizes. w is a bit more robust. DejaVu Mono and especially Ubuntu Mono do these two a lot better.

I'd never really focussed on Ubuntu Mono before writing that... It's actually quite elegantly done

Ok. I didn't particularly agree that you need more than 1080p. I think if you need to see more than 50 emails without scrolling it's a workflow problem not a screen resolution problem.

I've never regretted investing in two 1920x1200 monitors

I liked my 3 monitor 1600x900x3 setup...but it's gone now.

well, came home from the park with the fam and my set top ubuntu box was a black screen.... tried rebooting and couldn't even get to the command prompt

tried booting from a usb stick, no luck

tried burning a ubuntu cd and booting from that, no luck

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

is there any way to fix errors in ram? I remember that macs can do this by holding down a button at boot up

it looks like the screen you get when you run "sudo shutdown now"

it doesn't completely shut down .... it does but leaves the screen running with black and some text telling you it has shutdown
