You can use NetBalancer for this. It is a 30 day trial, but that should be enough to find out which process is using all the bandwidth and to take appropriate action: As you can see here, you can see how much bandwidth a process uses and even limit the bandwidth for each process.

why have an OS only to just be able to run a certain app. This is overkill IMO. I do not see why we need a dedicated gaming OS where I can play games bought from the makers of this very OS. If I'd make a game I'd make sure it will run on every machine to be able to sell it a lot.
