I am having some strange networking problems with Ubuntu 11.10.
This is a fresh install but this same machine worked fine with 11.10 before. I actually reinstalled with the very same CD and there has been no hardware changes to my computer.

I have this flickering issue in Minecraft - sometimes it doesn't flicker so much but has black patches that pop up on the screen at random intervals, every couple of seconds.

You can hide the Bluetooth icon from the top panel rather easily.
To do that, search for Bluetooth in the dash. Then, untick the check box next to the 'Show Bluetooth status in the menu bar'.
This was quite a new feature added in as a result of this bug report.
Check hostname of your system in /etc/hostname. Then modify it in /etc/hosts file. This will solve your problem :-)
