@GeorgeEdison It looks awesome!

@GeorgeEdison if you're curious of the fix, it was these three lines:
    <Location />
            WSGIProcessGroup [WSGIDaemonProcess Name]
    </Location>
Without that, all the vhosts would just use the last created WSGIDaemonProcess group, resulting in the path collisions you saw

Right. That makes sense.

7:20 PM
Images are uploading...

jrg
@GeorgeEdison OK, so you know about the issue with the site. Good. :-P
I take it you also get all those emails from root@localhost?

@GeorgeEdison nice color schema on bootstrap
<3 me some bootstrap

@jrg Oh... are you getting them too?
Do you want to continue receiving them?

jrg
@GeorgeEdison yeah. They all went to spam, but I'm writing a gmail filter to send them to the 2buntu gmail tag.
Which I check somewhat frequently, so yes, I want to keep getting them.

@MarcoCeppi:
[Errno 13] Permission denied: '/tmp/openid-filestore/temp/tmpB32EsX'

GTFO OF MY TMP
4

I can't seem to write to /tmp now.

Because you don't own it, www-data does. What created this? The Django app?

jrg
On, and one more thing: if you don't mind, I'll write a patch to make it so/RSS doesn't 404, since right now all our subscribers are now invalid.

@Marco: My OpenID provider needs to be able to write to /tmp and has had no trouble doing so before. So that is correct - it would be running under www-data (my app).

jrg
Why are we running an openid provider?

7:31 PM
I am. On my website. Been running one for the last 5-6 months.
What's worse - that's the provider I use to log into Ondina for 2buntu :)

jrg
I'm confused, but OK.

(Probably not the smartest thing I ever did.)

Well nothing's changed there. I can blow away the directory and have your service try to create it again

Actually, it isn't exactly the app that's trying to write there - the app uses Python's tempfile module which tries to write there.
I'll try again.

7:35 PM
@GeorgeEdison go ahead and try again

@GeorgeEdison where are all our posts?

@MarcoCeppi Fixed. Thank you.

@GeorgeEdison I just blew away that dir in the /tmp dir

@Joshua in my belly.

it was owned by www-data, now it's owned by your personal account

7:35 PM
and how do i log in?
/me punches @RolandiXor-TheIceMan

@Joshua One sec..

j/k

Enter your old password to reset.
But please don't write anything yet.
I'm still working on the import procedure.

7:37 PM
@GeorgeEdison thanks... umm... I don't remember what email I used...

@Joshua I can look it up for you.

Q: Switching desktop environment from Unity?

galdikasBasicall I have installed a few desktop environments. And if you are familiar with Unity, you know that the way switching works, is you get this sort of drop-down with all the environments installed, you then high-light the desired option and click "ok". So my problem is that I have quite a few i...

@GeorgeEdison cool...

Can we get some upvotes?
I deleted my question on the issue.

@Joshua joshuapbell AT [some Google place] .com
What is CloudFlare doing???

7:39 PM
@GeorgeEdison I don't get anything in my email :(

hmm that is what I thought... but I never got an email to reset it...

@RolandiXor-TheIceMan Weird.
Check your spam folders.

@GeorgeEdison I did

Hmmm...

@GeorgeEdison just did.

7:42 PM
@MarcoCeppi: One last tiny request... media.2buntu.com doesn't work. I think it's the same thing as static.2buntu.com.
@RolandiXor-TheIceMan Okay. I'll email you guys manually in a few minutes then.

@GeorgeEdison You've exhausted your queries for the year :P

@MarcoCeppi I really am sorry :) I'd fix it myself if there was any way I could.

naw, I'm just kidding

@MarcoCeppi good thing it is almost December...

Can I ask a question?

7:46 PM
nope

@RolandiXor-TheIceMan sure but we won't answer it...

No worries, I already did.
:D

@RolandiXor-TheIceMan I'm going to find you... and ... give you a noogie

Ahhh I see what you did there...

@lazyPower xD gotcha!
@Joshua >:}

7:47 PM
@GeorgeEdison new devolopment: I got the email but it sends me to example.com/accounts/reset/confirm/2/3cu-c158dd55ea1211f23f38

@Joshua Oops. Try replacing example.com with 2buntu.com.
I'll fix that one.

yey mailers

@RolandiXor-TheIceMan Did you get yours finally too?

@GeorgeEdison media fixed

Thanks!

7:49 PM
@GeorgeEdison have to check now lol

Cool I am in :-D
Um... will I get my super user privileges back?
Or have I been demoted to a flunkie?

@Joshua You will. One moment.

Aright cool... @GeorgeEdison your the best!

@Joshua Done. You should have some extra options now.

@MarcoCeppi the "GTFO OUT" is a bit redundant don't you think?

7:53 PM
So is the PIN Number I type in my ATM machine, but I do it anyways :P

wait.. you're ~ 3 hours away from me and they call it ATM down there?
PA is so backwards.. its MAC machine here.
MAC = Money Access Center

What do they call it up there? Magic money machine?

@MarcoCeppi lol
@MarcoCeppi I guess it is...

What? It's an Automated Teller

I understand that, but PNC says its a MAC
blame them, i didnt name it :|
personally i'd call it "Annoyance machine, with fees"

7:54 PM
Oh, PNC. We have them down here but no one listens to them

lol, fair enough :)

Personally guys I call it "my bookie" because it just keeps giving me money...

your bookie huh? Does it ever get lippy and receive bats to the knees?
or get shot for misappropriated funds?

Well I did take a bat to its knees once... but then I got arrested for "armed robbery"

8:13 PM
beat*

8:26 PM
@GeorgeEdison is there a way in Qt to switch the recognizing of a click - to be a "Command + Click" on the widget/window?

I'm not sure.

might not work like I think... but I was taking a last shot at keeping the share box on bottom, Cmd clicking things keeps them as background windows

8:43 PM
hm, is this close @GeorgeEdison stackoverflow.com/questions/2035310/… just switch the key being simulated?

\o
@GeorgeEdison I didn't get an email :(

Hello, all. I have a question about bumping questions that end in "Triaged -> Wishlist"
In particular, how long is long enough, to bump a stale thread with an indeterminate "wishlist" requet as a non-answer

hm, do you mean on Launchpad?

Yes. Re: lightdm pre-logout logout scripts.
The thread was on Ubuntu-Questions
No resolution except LP triage.
er
Ask-Ubuntu, scuse.

9:05 PM
Link, please.

I didn't think we had "wishlist" on AU?

back
@mateo_salta we don't.

Sorry. So many sites have the same color schemes! ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1918649

@GeorgeEdison you there?

Sorry - unable to regoogle... The launchpad is...

9:15 PM
@GeorgeEdison ping me when you get back.
I'll be in Urban Terror to see how my drivers perform.

Oh dear, was that it? Hold on...

I think I got @GeorgeEdison thinking in a logic loop...

@mateo_salta I appologize for the wron link!
I'm still hunting the Launchpad Bug Link down.

@RolandiXor-TheIceMan Back now.

He is a robot!

9:20 PM
Life is simpler that way.

Q: Is Jorge Castro a Robot?

Luis Alvarado - The WolverineBefore reading see the following links I noticed today http://askubuntu.com/users/235/jorge-castro http://askubuntu.com/users?tab=voters&filter=all http://about.me/jorge.castro http://askubuntu.com/users?tab=editors&filter=all After that, how can a human have time for all of that....

Awesome link, funny stuff

:D

The Jorgebot link =D

I'm going to step away for a few minutes and then try asking my question more clearly. I know I failed this time.

9:28 PM
Okay, some articles will slowly start showing up on 2buntu again.
Please do not edit them yet.
But feel free to begin writing new articles now.

Hello, all. I have a question which I found has led other users on other question boards to lightdm, and specifically, to a bug posting marked "Triaged -> Wishlist." Would it be appropriate to bump a question last updated over 3 months ago, if the clearest answer appears to be "keep waiting?"
(bug posting on Launchpad bugs.launchpad.net/lightdm/+bug/876284)
It's like a 'meta' question that determines whether I ask a question. So I'm trying here in chat.

The link to the question is much more important than the launchpad link. ;)

Which version from which forum?
They are all orange-and-white.

The askubuntu one would be nice, since that's where you're asking.

OK, here's one that is almost at the punchline...

Q: Where do I place a logout script for Lightdm?

Kevin DalyPreviously in Karmic, we created a logout script that does some work in the background on backing up a users home directory, this script was put in the /etc/GDM/PostSession directory. I can't figure out where to put a script that I want to run during a logout in LightDM. I've googled and have ...

Usually, bumping an old question that is pretty much answered with "It's a bug, wait for its fix.", is considered bad - simply because the question effectively doesn't even belong here.
You could however, add a link to the bug - as a comment, or an edit.

It's also a "How Do I..." question.
That may or may not have a different solution.
And that link isn't quite it

Well, the bug is already linked on the question and the question has been answered in varying ways.
If you still believe it doesn't work as intended and the bug itself isn't the solution - update it with your further information.

Yes. It seems ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1969822 is not the same as ask-ubuntu.

That is true indeed. ubuntuforums.org and askubuntu.com have few to do with each other.

Oh dear! I'll try there. Sorry for the confusion. As to the bug thing - I don't know whether there's an answer to the question that bypasses lightdm, etc. altogether.
Ciao, and thanks again!

9:46 PM
Uhm, any time ... I guess.

10:29 PM
Articles are up. Most images should be up now.

@GeorgeEdison how come I can only see "Pages" under Site administration?

What's wrong with that? :P
The only other stuff is (for the most part) highly technical.

@GeorgeEdison a bit limiting isn't it?
@GeorgeEdison that is okay, I am sure I can find something to break...
Don't make me park my domain somewhere else :=P

I'll show you what else there is...
See? Only technical stuff.

10:46 PM
Looks about like what I had before... :-(

You can upload images and create articles without using the admin interface.

I realize that... but I use to do so much more then just write articles...

What else?

ummm... like everything...
I was a top level administrator
just sayin....

Well let me know if there is anything you need access to.

10:51 PM
Do Roland, and JRG have all that stuff?

No.
Nobody but me at the moment.
2

I see...
I do like the speed :-D

And that's without any compression or minification of the CSS/JS.
Wait until I implement that.

I might have to convert... haha
