Bleh... why can't we have it easy like the US and Canada?

Hello all, I was reviewing askubuntu.com/review/first-posts/54174 and saw that it had error messages poorly formatted. I tried fixing that with four spaces in front of each line, but was greeted with message similar to "you need to change at least 6 non white-space characters". What is the rationale behind this limitation? I felt my edits greatly enhanced the legibility of the question ;)
from the version it looks like 11.10 - should be ok for the next few months. I would suggest marco needs to move to 12.04 - then relax for the next 5 years.

A small question. Can I always use sudo apt-get dist-upgrade instead of sudo apt-get upgrade because the first command actually installs all the available updates => does the equivalent of the gui software updater?
Every morning at 5:30 am sharp: "Catch Mouse": The humans would have you believe that those lumps under the covers are their feet and hands. They are lying. They are actually Bed Mice, rumored to be the most delicious of all the mice in the world, though no cat has ever been able to catch one. Rumor also has it that only the most ferocious attack can stun them long enough for you to dive under the covers to get them. Maybe YOU can be the first to taste the Bed Mouse!
One time my cat got a plastic bag stuck around her...not sure where she found it... but she was going ballistic... literally jumping off the walls... I had to use the end of a broom stick to get the bag off her... after the incident I didn't see her for another 2 days...
