Hello

4:23 AM
Hey.

9 hours later…
1:46 PM
Today's the day I do deb packaging from scratch. Hopefully it won't be that painful.

from scratch? you mean with a hex editor? :)

haha - no I mean from start to finish (the process)

Still hoping for some info on the network connection issue... ubuntu.stackexchange.com/questions/2071
No idea how to do the nice embedded link.

It has to be on it's own line:

Q: Dropbox reconnect on network connection established.

Dmitriy LikhtenI am running UNR (but using the regular gnome launcher) and have DropBox installed. Since I use my laptop on the train, there is no network connectivity. However once I reconnect to a network, dropbox seems to be completely unresponsive to the fact that there is a network connection and has to be...

All min-windows has to be on their own line by themselves
I have to say @DmitriyLikhten I was just looking at it again. I really wish I had a better solution than just "Script it"

Yea, wish I had a better one too... The question is... why is it working on your machine. Seriously, a question in configuration.
What makes it work in your machine.
and I will check my config and figure out what is different maybe?

@DmitriyLikhten what's in your /etc/network/interfaces?

how do i do multi-line? just send a few lines 1 at a time?

yeah

3:49 PM
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

that's it?
oh, jk

thats it

you can send multiple lines in one post.

This is multipled!
that's your problem.
I'll post the answer to your question.

how, every enter = send

Shift+Enter

3:50 PM
SHIFT?!@#?!@# omg bad key config
all im clients alt + enter
facepalm

is next line
Okay - I don't know about your Dropbox thing - but I know the answer to your network on boot and wakeup

alrighty.... so im guessing problem in the interfaces config?
cool, thanks!!!

yeah - you need this line:
iface eth0 inet dhcp

the dropbox i'm marking as a bug in dropbox, not ubuntu issue. Since ubuntu has no problem with services like skype.
thanks Marco! Wish I could give you more than 1 up vote :)

You can accept the answer as a minimum :P

3:54 PM
=)...

Sorry I been linking the wrong issue (the dropbox one) and just realized it... lets see if dis works

Q: Network not starting up on boot.

Dmitriy LikhtenBasically my network won't start. Can't use wired connections. To make it a further brain-scratcher, when booting into recovery, and using the network console, the network comes up and works. Outside of recovery nothing. As far as I can tell no settings changed between powering off and on since...

ah tehre we go for linking :)
post your answer, i'll test this once I have time to reboot this computer (or put it to sleep).

A: Network not starting up on boot.

Marco CeppiYou are likely missing the line for this in the interfaces file. Open /etc/network/interfaces and check if there is a line for eth0 If not add the following: auto eth0 iface eth0 inet dhcp This will add the eth0 interface - and use DHCP on boot and wakeup. If you're still not getting DHCP res...

Images also get resolved

Boy, Linux's ELF executable format is sure complicated.

never messed with it

Don't.
It's pretty ugly.

I just told another system admin about rsync

It's even worse than Win32 PE files - ELF files have segments and sections... with different meanings, etc.

> i love rsync, much better than nsync

4:42 PM
WebApps launches later today.

Exciting!

I found the icon URL
Shhhhhh.....

nice

5:02 PM
This may pertain your interests
It's been added sometime in the last 24 hours. :)

Huh.
Interesting.

OMGUbuntu reports it's been available since the 28th though
Yeah, the changelog is timestamped on the 28th. Oh well.

nice! finally the font is out

5:44 PM
when it'll be the time, point @Jin to fonttest.design.canonical.com, it's a webapp tailored to debug the font when rendered via font-face

@Jin isn't doing the design

okay.

Someone from the Canonical team is (but working with Jin for guidelines stuff)

I'm starting submitting bugs, however I doubt they'll be impressed about bug reports on how ClearType renders the font at 7 pt :)
(which actually is perfect save the y and W)

every little bit help!

5:48 PM
Yeah, and then Launchpad gives up on me :/
I guess I'm not sexy enough to report bugs through it.

hah
Guess they really don't care about 7pt fontsize :P

2 hours later…
7:50 PM
WebApps is live now!

1 hour later…
8:57 PM
Here it is: the complete ASM code for an ELF executable that prints "Hello, world!":

9:11 PM
@GeorgeEdison I'm so sorry :P

9:58 PM
Don't be.
