so whatever computer this runs on, it should find whatever jdk is there

each can collect what ever color they want, when fighting, they use which ever value that is higher

if both have same amount, they tie, otherwise, the one who collected more, wins

I've used it as a desktop mostly but it's convenient and the price was very close to a similarly spec-ed desktop.

But I'll probably build a desktop next and keep the laptop for whenever I need something portable.
Can't get laptops with faster CPUs. Looks like they plateau-d.

I've tried distcc with another laptop with similar CPU but it only gave me a 25% increase for more than double the CPU power (2.4Ghz i7 plus my 2.2Ghz i7). Direct Gigabit ethernet between them.

so distcc sends 8 files, build them, then download them, then sends 8 more..
So the extra machine is only used 12~25% of the time.

I tried telling distcc the other machine has 32 CPUs but it just takes longer to compile all 32 files at once and send them at once. no improvement in usage.

I've had that laptop for almost 6 years now. I'm due for an upgrade (before it dies)
6 years for a laptop that i've been carrying everywhere is pretty amazing durability IMHO, I'm amazed it still works perfectly.

I think the disk drive in that old thing is getting ready to go finally, last time I used it it was really slowing down

every port still works, the CPU doesn't overheat, the GTX 560M is still decent enough for gaming... haven't had to open it to clean it. just give it a air can blow every while...

Best laptop I ever had and it's still kicking.

We got the devs macbook pros at work that only last 2-3 years before croacking and they got no visible damage. My guess its the thermal stress that kills them.

They're not really intended to handle doing Unity builds and train OpenCV cascades every day :P

I think it should be considered false advertising to sell a machine that technically has whatever 3GHz CPU, but will die if you actually load it 100%

The money from the stocks sortof diverts away from the company and flows around between investors instead, basically the stocks only really help to start the company, and then makes it worse because now they must do every dirty trick for profit or else face criminal charges for ripping off the investors.

I'd probably play a game oriented around tactical food fighting set in a kitchen

I already see the mechanic where you can microwave an item for 2 minutes to give it super damage power turning into a meta-game where you try to put something in there without getting killed and then try to do a lap and come back to be the first one to get it when it's ready

And I'd go put an egg in there instead so when someone thinks they get to steal the super item, it pops and I get the points
