Sounds like a really rough situation, unfortunately we can't really tell you what to do. Once you decide what to do, we may be able to help you figure out how to do it. — apaul 35 secs ago

I upvoted this because it's a much better look into the mind of people who do this (again, myself included, although I've gotten much better after years of active practice). — AHamilton 1 min ago

I'm curious to know why the downvotes. Is there anything I can do to improve this answer? — avazula 33 secs ago

Agree with @Davor - introversion is not lack of social skills. This sounds like emotional babysitting rather than including someone in a group. Interacting with a person shouldn't feel like work. — data 1 min ago

I disagree with your assessment @Ian, and a quick Google search would reveal that there's a difference of opinion on when, and how often you should say "please" and "thank you". huffingtonpost.ca/rhonda-scharf/… psychologytoday.com/gb/blog/ambigamy/200902/… In my experience, in the north tone is much more important than the actual words, where in the south we have the importance of the words themselves drilled into us from a young age. — AHamilton 1 min ago

Would like to agree with @Maaark, try not to rely on the kids as a pressure to change the behavior but rather as a positive outcome of the behavior changing; although setting a good example for the kids is an end goal and it's clear that OP (and his wife!) have their hearts set on providing a great environment for them, one must take care not to appear like the kids are a bargaining chip for the behavioral change. This answer has a great point about not passing it off as OP's idea however, which I think is a very good point. +1 from me. — nostalgk 18 secs ago

@IPSCommentBot Wait wut... where did I say to use the kids for bargaining?! Never use kids as currency. Always ends badly.

Q: How to flirt with a cashier

MosesI am living in a small town in Germany, where basically all people know each others. There is a gas station near my house, and I go to refuel there always (2 times i will say per week). Since 4 weeks, a new girl was recruited to work as a cashier (she is around 22 years old and I am 28). I really...

The OP has reason, day after day I start to hate SO because of people just reading the title and then starting by downvoting and commenting and even answering ... if you really read all the description i am wondering if you will really write such a comment — Moslem Ch 1 min ago

I wonder why that got such a low Perspective score.
I am wondering what they mean by 'answering'. I could get the entire comment, if they hadn't mentioned answering.
Also, we may want to take another look at that duplicate closure... would it be a good idea to give it some time to cool down though? OP seemed quite heated/upset :(

I can understand why some people are downvoting, there is a clear conflict in your description on what you want: I like her and it would be nice if we can text or to know more each other vs tHE OTHER GUY LOOKS ABOUT A WAY TO KNOW THE GIRL, WHERE ME I TRY TO FLIRT WITH HER WITHOUT HAVING PROBLEM I honestly think the answers in the other question are relevant to your situation. Working in retail means you have to be nice. Providing unsolicited flirting to someone who's just being friendly will make them feel uncomfortable. — Russ Wilkie 48 secs ago

@Tinkeringbell I can understand OP's struggle, but I'm trying to find the distinct ideas he wants to ask, and I think he doesn't quite equate "get to know her" = "flirting" ...
@ElizB I'm sure things could've been handled a bit more graciously, but I don't think there's any reason for the reactions we've seen, they were way over the top. I'm cleaning up right now ;-)
@Tinkeringbell Yeah, I get it. It was somewhat harsh but clean. (shrugs) I agreed that it was a duplicate, because wording is too similar.
@ElizB I think it's a duplicate as well ;) I don't disagree with y'all there...
