@JohnDuffield By the way, @JohnDuffield. I've never suspended anyone (except some obvious spammers on HSM).
@Danu : yeah yeah. I got suspended by ArtofCode when I don't know him from Adam. I got suspended by Qmechanic when I've never spoken to the guy. What is it, phone a friend?
@JohnDuffield Actually, I wasn't involved in either of those. I didn't even know who the moderators that suspended you were.
You can continue to cry wolf at any chance, but be sure that this will not make people take you more seriously.
@Shog9 : the first problem with stack exchange is that the rules do not cater for insincere / dishonest posters. The second problem with stack exchange is that stack exchange doesn't want anybody to know there's a problem.
The first rule of stack exchange is: You do not talk about the problems. The second rule of stack exchange is: You do not talk about the problems.
Your recent moderator chat flag was inappropriate and declined.
@JohnDuffield ...why should the rules cater to the dishonest?
...why should anyone cater to the dishonest?
It always is.
21:25
also, have you been to... Any meta site? ALL WE DO is talk about the problems.
I keep meaning to make a post about how awesome people are, but then I get sucked into writing an answer about a problem instead.
@Shog9 : comments get deleted.
yup
the nature of comments encourages this
easy come, easy go
want something to last? Write an answer.
@Shog9 : posters collude to downvote answers that are better than theirs. They collude to upvote their own answers. They also know that they should get in fast, because they know that some people have a tendency to upvote the question with the most votes, and not read the answer with the downvotes. And so I see correct answers form expert posters languishing. And expert posters who are ex posters.
What were some examples of those again, @JohnDuffield? Experts who went away because of the downvotes on their answers?
@Danu I wasn't expecting much, it was more of a formality.
21:31
@JohnDuffield those are some strong allegations
@Shog9 You haven't seen them before? :P
I see it all the time, and when folks email us about it some of them go on to me to investigate
Just hang around the h bar---it's a regular thing.
occasionally there's even merit to it
often, it's just talk
the proverbial sour grapes
If you search for JD saying "collude" or similar terms in the h bar, you'll have some fun
Actually, "carping" has more hits.
Also "robust"
in The h Bar, Dec 27 '15 at 13:36, by John Duffield
@JoshuaLin : I get downvoted so much because I give solid answers with robust references.
and such
In any case, I'll stop wasting your time
Have a nice day/evening/night @Shog9
21:34
well, I suppose the robust coffee gets ground
cheers, Danu
@Shog9 lol
@Shog9 : chatroom owner Chris White called for downvote collusion in the h-bar, got a day's suspension, then threw his toys out of his pram in outrage and asked to be deleted.
that... Doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement of vote collusion

@Shog9 : there were previous incidents, and he was too blatant. Danu is also a chatroom owner. You might want to check out his previous.
@Shog9 : and when I look at some of the highly upvoted answers, I wonder if some posters with a high rep have made a lot of friends here on stack exchange. If you catch my drift:
@JohnDuffield Now this is not alright by me---completely baseless accusations of some serious stuff.

21:49
@Danu : baseless? Do you deny that as a chatroom owner, you tried to get people not to talk physics? To me?
1) I responded to your accusations of sockpuppeting. The other accusations are not so interesting because everything is out in the open anyways, and everybody can see that nothing bad was going on.

2) I told people to stop engaging in *discussions* with you. That's not the same as talking physics: You know very well that discussions with you have a tendency to turn nasty, and I was trying to stop that from happening. It ruins the atmosphere in the room.
Or sneer at my downvote ratio when you and your friends were responsible for it? I'd give a lengthy answer to a question, and within seconds, before anybody had time to read it, here come the downvotes.
Anyways, I'll leave it to @Shog9 to hear you out---cya!
@Danu : I'm a civil poster. You can't point to me turning nasty. So if it isn't me turning nasty Danu, who is?
Why do you think I volunteered to be a moderator?
Ah, I can't resist...
in The h Bar, Dec 27 '15 at 13:34, by John Duffield
@0celo7 : I never skirt the issue. I give solid answers with robust references, only you ignore it all because you think you're smarter than Einstein. But in truth your ignorance is only exceeded by your arrogance.
Now I'm really leaving.
22:01
@Danu : that was addressed to 0celo7, the 18-year-old student nuclear engineer who says he's smarter than Einstein and Einstein was a crackpot. I try to talk physics and tell you about relativity, and you say things like can you just stop trying to convince people of your theories.
When they're Einstein's theories.
OK, I'm off to bed. Night all.
