> In the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris, CBS says it will pull new episodes of “Supergirl” and “NCIS: Los Angeles” on Monday night. The network didn’t specify the reason, but the descriptions of both ring similar to the horrific killings in France that left 129 people dead.
@phantom42 I hate it when networks do things like this, for a number of reasons - the main one being that if we start to alter our behavior after attacks like the one in Paris, then they win.
B&B is ending this season but it's not really a fall show anymore.
last season CW renewed all of their shows, and they picked up Legends
looks like they'll have a few opening up though. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is definitely out and Reign isn't doing so hot. And their top two shows are DC properties.
> Ultron did make unauthorized monetary transfers to Ulysses Klaus' account which is an example of controlling the internet and it is quite different than only being able to access it.
TIL: being able to make an unauthorized money transfers means you control the internet
they shouldn't be. they are. I don't think this should surprise anyone anymore. We only get to use that "i didn't think it was that bad" excuse so many times before we really should know better.
@Himarm don't get me wrong. I agree that things are way too restrictive in that room. But they have been that way for months. Anyone who hasn't figured that out and adapted their behavior to match, frankly, gets what they deserve.
i still dont understand how we differentiate between works like gothem, and stuff like james bond and MI its boggles my mind we have like double standards >.<
I suggest the following guidelines (improvements welcome):
If it's marketed as SF, it's on-topic.
If magic, futuristic science or technology, alternate history, or other sf-nal concept is an important part of the overall plot, it's on-topic. (Alice in Wonderland, Clockwork Orange, etc.)
If the ...
i think himarm's question should be fleshed out into "does one piece of a franchise being on topic make the whole franchise on topic?" or something similar
it's something we've brought up in chat before, but has never been properly hashed out
if its something realistic, imo within 5 years, offtopic. but if its something that has pieces that are possible but some major underlying tech is currently not real, then ontopic
if its a smash and grab of a crime organization off topic, if its a giant lazer satellite, or world wide computer observation, ontopic.
if anyone wants to write any of these up on meta, feel free to steal any ideas i may have contributed, im not very elegant with words. not a high level wordsmith.
