Rumor: Moon Knight is being planned for Netflix. i've tried reading some MK issues, and i've been bored to tears every time. may have been the writer's fault though
@phantom42 I'd take any rumours about new Netflix shows with a large pinch of salt at the moment. Between Daredevil season two, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, the issues they are having finding a direction for Iron Fist and the logistical nightmare that will be The Defenders I doubt that Netflix want to take on any other projects right now. It's why I'm so skeptical about the also rumored Blade TV show.
Agent Sitwell (Hydra) mentions Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, and Stephen Strange by name. We know Stark and Banner are Iron Man and the Hulk. Most comics fans will also recognize the name Stephen Strange as Dr. Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme.
Sitwell also mentions "an honor student in Iowa City" and ...
@phantom42 Any information about this deal comes from just the one source, Den of Geek (a site I visit every single day). It's worth noting that although a respectable site, Den of Geek have never been the first people to report on something like this before, and they are the only people in the industry (as far as I can find at least) reporting that FF might be back with Marvel.
Even sites like Latino Review and Birth.Movies.Death haven't touched it yet, and they are usually amongst the first to know about Marvel news. I'm just saying that I don't buy into this at all yet.
@MikeEdenfield That's legit, those are in development. But the details of the deal that allowed Fox to do that are, as far as I am concerned, pure speculation and rumour at the moment.
@MikeEdenfield They were just talking about how the idea of the space race and the scientific optimism of the 60's is why FF works. Have those character accidentally transport themselves from the mid 60's into present day time, an experiment gone wrong (all this happens after they get powers though). Gives Marvel a character from every era - The Greatest Generation, the 60's, the 80's (Quill is stuck in the past) and the modern heroes.
@DrRDizzle I guess to me what would be odd is that Reed Richards is the absolute smartest human being on the planet. Newton/Einstein/Hawking-level smart.
if he was already active in science, you'd expect other super-smart people to name drop him.
the way they've started doing with Pym
it would just make it wierd for this absolutely worldwide genius to show up and everyone would have to be like "omg its you you're so super smart and famous that we've literally never mentioned your name before"
@MikeEdenfield If Reed disappeared nearly 10 years before Tony was even born, I doubt he'd come up in conversation all that often. All they need is Hank Pym talking about a scientist that managed to kill himself and 3 friends in an accident in Ant-Man and The Wasp and you've got your set-up.
"He had a great mind, but not very flexible. His wife was a babe, but he always acted like she wasn't there. Her brother was a bit of a hot-head but nice enough.Never managed to get to know the other guy though- like talking to a brick wall." Awful dialogue that would never, ever be in a film, but you get the point.
He could be trying to warn off Scott from experimenting too much with the suit, and use the disappearance of the Richards family as an example of knowing your limits. It would be cool.
@RogueJedi Sokovia was quite obviously a Latveria replacement. I would imagine that if Marvel Studios have got FF back, we'll soon find out about a disgruntled Sokovian nation supporting the rise of an anti-Western dictator who quite literally rules with an iron fist.
It was Latveria in the 60's, when F4 would take place. Then, post Cold War it got renamed Slovakia. Ultron lifting up the city awoke it's magical dictator, Victor Von Doom, who takes it back to it's original name
" the topic of this room is "General discussion for scifi.stackexchange.com" - conversation should be limited to that topic." <--- that's what we were doing!
@WadCheber According to a CM, if you follow the letter of the law but are deemed not to follow the spirit, you can still get ridiculous-length suspensions for it.
I honestly think there's a whole bunch of people who sit around watching us talk in there about everything that's not sci-fi and they think if they make life hard enough we'll all go away.
Um, I know everyone has big fun here, but could we please refrain from calling all Germans nazis? There are lines we might not want to cross in some weird anti-flag whatever endeavours.
@phantom42 also, I'm 100000000000% positive Napoleon lurks in our transcript because every time anyone mentions M&TV he runs in to defend it, even if we weren't actually being insulting.
By the way, guys, we'll probably all be tarred with the same brush as Thorsten S.; they may well call us ALL a bunch of calling-all-Germans-Nazis types.
I speak from experience on Puzzling. There were a bunch of us more or less agreeing with each other in a discussion; some people were offensive and the room got shut down; and we all got the blame.
