@Zacky I think I saw you claiming that an answer can only be undeleted by the OP in a discussion on meta. I will point out that 20k+ users can actually vote to deleted/undelete answers.
Although I agree that in the particular case that was brought up, it seems rather unlikely that somebody would vote to undelete that answer. (IIRC it was by a user called George.)
Since it seems that you plan to be more involved in discussions around deletions and undeletions, it is useful that you have correct information about how they work. That's the only reason why I'm mentioning this.
It's no a big deal, but I think the correct terminology is to ping. Tag/tagging is something different. (At least in the context of SE network, but probably also in the meanings used outside of the SE network.)
Oh, thanks then! Usually when I want to mention someone in a post (on a social-network site for example) then I say that I "tag" him to see that. I have no problem to use "ping" here.
@Zacky Just to clarify, by "this question" you mean explanation what was the point of posting a self-answered question? (In the other words: why the question can be considered useful, what is the context, ...)
If this all tag vs. ping talk is distracting from the topic of the room, feel free to move messages elsewhere. (As a RO you have possibility to do that. I will not object if you move that into my room: chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/19138 )
@Zacky It seems to me that the explanation given in comments was more about "creating interesting integrals" in general than about this specific post.
> this is one way of sharing some experience and see how others would solve it.
> I believe in creating interesting integrals, summations, etc which are doable in one or more ways. In the year 2002, I created an integral and I am really overwhelmed that it has been being called "Ahmed's Integral one may see it in Google." Mathematics is free from sources and references that is why it is well ahead of Sciences when it comes to solving problems faced by scientists.
> thanks for this info', I did not know it at MSE. I feel that mathematical results which can be done by hand and which are not be easily available or doable may have application(s) now, later or never, nevertheless they should be allowed to appear, to be discussed and solved.
(I wasn't sure whether to copy here also your comments.)
I am not really sure whether you really wanted to move the whole block (both messages related to ping/tag terminology and the messages related this specific question).
In any case, I'll just point out that it is possible to move not only a block of consecutive messages, but you can also select just some of them.
