excepting the annoying bichons and not-so-annoying spaniels, german shepherds are a common sight in Romania

they are also known as "caini lup" which means "wolf-dogs"

personally, I have three of these:

:/ I've been thinking about what kind of story (if any) to add to my game, and am having a tough time coming up with any story ideas for a Tower Defence game. Go defend this thing that we need, now defend that. Is your empire fighting a losing battle? Are you behind the front lines providing support? Nothing seems to really click

I have some interesting scenario ideas, but no real way to connect them with a reason

I find it funny how Tower Defense evolved into MOBA.

when you combine counter strike with a generic hack and slash, you get a moba

although I'd like to see a CS-ish take on mobas, with permadeath, short rounds, and economies based on how you did the last round

I chose CS mainly because of the competitiveness

I can't think of an equivalent to CS's popularity in championships other than DoTA

My impression was that the writing scaled well. Kind of like Disney movie writing scales well, except not to the same degree. It's kind of like how TMNT writing scales better than... Beast Wars... I dunno. I don't watch cartoons so that might be kind of a stretch.

watch the first two episodes of the second season

the ponies are turned into their opposites

and they become assholes basically

actually, Discord (the character performing the transformations) is quite an interesting character

for a cartoon, it's almost like Batman's Joker

I remember when I first watched it, I think the official airing was already 10 episodes deep into the first season

I always liked Assassin's Creed for the climbing more

@Gajoo it has a nice elegance to it

AC2 was really amazing from all POVs

I wish the setting of AC1 would have been exploited some more

always had a thing for the crusades ever since Stronghold Crusader

assassin's creed is more parkour-ish. With the exception of a few levels, the climbing was incidental to getting where you needed to go. PoP was more about the climbing itself as a puzzle element.

consoles do set the standard in graphics and gameplay quality, yeah

because games are mostly ported to the PC

can't say i agree with them setting the standard

so that's another thing that screws PC gamers over.

we get games that look really crappy compared to PC-direct games.

I'm grateful that consoles are so closed hardware-wise

GTA 4 was a disaster

both the PS3 and XB1 have AMD chips

this will help them get back on track

and in turn will raise the competitiveness between Intel and AMD

which will result in better hardware and better prices

i just dont understand where $499 for an xbox is coming from i can built a hugely more powerful PC for $600 if i build it myself although not top end it would out perform the xbox one. + they have bulk orders yet still costs laods

the Xbone comes with a Kinect sensor too, right?

although I still can't bring myself to trust AMD drivers on Linux. I had an ATI card where trying to install third-party NVIDIA drivers actually increased the performance over the ATI drivers.

i had terrible luck with ati and drivers

so i been nvidia ever since

@Jimmy I've been a GTX460 owner since my X1600

I remember the default Linux drivers working better with the X1600 back then

that titan card is crazy powerful

the nVidia drivers work well too

plus u get cuda

i could care less for physX though unless im playing Batman

my X1600 paired with 2gigs of ram and a pentium d was running GTA IV at almost max fps on lowest details

GTA 4 was a horrific port

yeah, it was

but all GTAs were ports

since... GTA 1

if you turn off the frame limiter in GTA San Andreas, you can't go below the water surface, and thus you're unable to dive and swim underwater

it also takes a very long time to take off with a water plane

I never turned it off in Vice City, but I suspect it would cause issues sooner or later

w/o the frame limiter in SA you can also see some cars going around with the speed of light only to instantly stop

so yeah, I guess they didn't bother changing anything from the PS2 version which was capped at 29 fps
