7:00 PM
@CodeAssasssin are you free? so we can build a game just tonight? (at least it's night for me)

Hmm
I dont know =-= I have lots of schoolwork to do D:

then I won't be bothering

If only I didn't have a day job D:

School is kind of like a job in a sense

My job rocks.
Out of the 14 hour shifts I have, I spend on average 10 of them at home. :P

7:07 PM
since no one is going to participate I'll go play dota2

Someone help Gajet make a TD >_>

but I like the idea of creating a game over one night.
:D
I think we should create such a games more than this...
call me if anyone was available for a one night game creation marathon.

too bad I don't know much code and stuff :(

I'd like to but my night begins in 4-6 hoursish
@Gajet needless to say you and I likely won't be working together :P

7:13 PM
@BluFire every game needs artistic stuff too.
@tylerrrr07 it doesn't really matter if it's my night or your night.
besides we can work trough the day too!

Again - I have a day job :P

if it's not worktime or workday.

I could probably do a Friday / Saturday thing sometime though not this week. I'll keep ya posted

@gajet true but you can always find some stuff online and just change the pic(i.e color shape size)

me2

7:25 PM
Hi all, can any one tell me how i retrieve image from iphone photo gallery to customised photo frame and that image will break after 3 second in different parts, its a puzzel game
i am doing this puzzel game in cocos2d

Sounds like you want us to explain how to make the whole game?

no

i am nt getting idea how to break image

I'm with william on this

7:27 PM
after certain time

@Gamer What do you mean by "break image"? Split it into four equal-sized rectangles?

no in different size 7 peices
like we play puzzel game to arrange photo

Like a jigsaw puzzle?

sorry i didnt play jigsaw puzzel
so i dnt know how it is

vacates the building

7:30 PM
:For the Rolling Stones song, see "Jigsaw Puzzle (song)" A jigsaw puzzle is a tiling puzzle that requires the assembly of numerous small, often oddly shaped, interlocking and tessellating pieces. Each piece usually has a small part of a picture on it; when complete, a jigsaw puzzle produces a complete picture. In some cases more advanced types have appeared on the market, such as spherical jigsaws and puzzles showing optical illusions. Jigsaw puzzles were originally created by painting a picture on a flat, rectangular piece of wood, and then cutting that picture into small pieces with a ...

@TreDubZedd yes like that, in my game player will select image and that image will break in 6 different parts and then player have to arrange that parts to make it original shape, i am not getting idea how to break the images

well GL on your game.
just split the image by making columns and rows
then arrange those images in a random order

@gamer you can also use this
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentomino

yes after breaking we have to arrange but the breaking of image is nt in column and row the shape of breaking parts is zig-zag
@Gajet my main issue is how to break the image in cocos2d?

7:45 PM
do it jsut like pentomino
create textures of 1x1 tiles, then attach those textures into some nodes and you'll get pentomino shapes

8:10 PM
@Gajet From now on, i have like 12 hours of free time :o Or even more, that's just the time im planning to go to sleep.

@Gajet i am nt using tiles i have predefined break image boundary i have to break the image in that that shape only and i have to use cocos2d only.

@Gajet, You around kiddo?

not really,

Too bad, you need to test something.

I've just started a game

8:13 PM
So drop what you're doing.

I think I can

:D

should I download your latest build from legeria?

8:14 PM
Nah.
But create an account here first: legeria.net/registration.php
Remember to use a unique password and all that yadda.

it's not unique.

@Gamer: Usually, you'll do something like a pixel-by-pixel copy from the source image into each of your six destination images, using some sort of mask data or image to determine whether to leave the destination pixel blank.

but it doesn't match most of my accounts

Doesn't really matter, it's md5 + salted.
Alright, @Gajet, can you download the latest debug?

i guess
but later

8:19 PM
Whaa?
You can't just leave now!
BAD IRANIAN YOU!
Or is it Iraq?
I don't remember.

iran
now let's see what you've got there
:d
@william dropbox, filtered!

Damn you!
Just a sec then...
Alright, @Gajet, does this work: legeria.net/legeria-latest-debug.zip

yep downloaded

:3 Clicks

8:28 PM
Alright.
It's very badly networked.
Just want to see your reaction. :P
Right now all it does is WASD to move the camera around.

how can I change the username and password?

I wanna plaaaay >_>

Oh, it defaults to my username.
Silly me, I should remove that.
@CodeAssasssin, Nothing to play really. :P

trying to connect

8:29 PM
>:/\ Fail

Implementing networking is all baby steps.

it started downloading lots of stuff

and I can only see some crossed dirts

I see you've connected and got accepted.

8:31 PM
uploading umage

Yeah, you should only see the crossed dirts.
How smooth is the camera movement?
Very not smooth at all? :P

My camera is better than your camera :)

Yeah, that's all there is at the moment.
Ripped out the rendering system for testing. :P

I can't move at all

8:32 PM
Lol

Nothing happens if you hit WASD?

@CodeAssasssin Your camera is a copy of this camera david-amador.com/2009/10/xna-camera-2d-with-zoom-and-rotation lol

nope

Ohh, server crashed. :D

8:33 PM
maybe caused by my bad internet connection

Awesome.
That's perfect. Need to see what went wrong. I knew your poor iranian connection would be useful.

:D

... My log is blank... How did that happen? :(

handleing my connection will be last boss to defeat!

8:35 PM
It's a hard boss if it eats my logs.

all caused by iranian power!

Last log I have
[22:13:05] --------------------------------------------------------------------

I remember something about... Assembly or Domain containing a catch all event.
I should use it, and make sure shit's logged properly.
Here it is: AppDomain.CurrentDomain.FirstChanceException

I think I've logged in with my own email
so that log from 22:13:11 should not be me

8:54 PM
Cave Generation Fail

:D imgur filtered!
I guess i have to activate my proxy
@CodeAssasssin it's becomming more and more like legeria

mindy was like that at his very first steps

Notice how terraria and minecraft do tha' same thing :)

MindworX will sue you!

8:57 PM
=-="
too much media. Must flee
@Gajet Why hasn't the Stack Exchange sued u for your avatar :3

why should it?
did you see my avatar somewhere else?

Hm yes, I think its the help button on the gd.se site
Seems like you just flipped it :D

beside my steam account? and my Google account
now you mention it it's kinda similar, but my color scheme is a bit different

Where is this help button that i never came across? lol

?
Lol, when you post answers
There's Like a help button lol

9:03 PM
ah, now i see it, it's very tiny lol
its a bit different lol

1 hour later…
10:17 PM
@WilliamMindWorXMariager any luck finding out what was the problem?

10:33 PM
morning

it's 3AM here, so I can't really call it morning
but good time.

:P
i work best at those hours hehe

it was these hour that I finished A* last night

guna try implement that js fiddle tonight
did u say u cld do multiple start points aswell as multiple ends or only ends

10:52 PM
it was these hours that I finished A* last night
did you brag about it anywhere?

no?
i went to bed when u finished

:D
isn't this your morning now?

well its 5 to midnight :P

you mean 11:55pm?

same thing
@gajet - what do you do if the building covers more than one tile (say 2 by 2 tiles) thus there could be 8 starting points
is that already taken into account

11:02 PM
i didn't get what you meant

well say a building connects to another by a path
one building may be larger than one tile thus having more than one starting point

I think I've added that thing into that A* code

ok

just flag multiple tiles for starting point and everything will be done

ill get it working first :P
where do you return "path" result?
@Gajet u seem to echo it half way through the function

11:11 PM
i echo it as soon as I find the shortest path

so before drawing the table i just do return(path);

when I return I only find the shortest path from one of the start point to one of the end points, but it doesn't matter which one
yep

ok
damn
@Gajet just noticed it creates the path array in the wrong format

@Gajet Like I said, the log wasn't saved. :(

@Dave why

11:25 PM
i was hoping it the format of the path would be similiar to sdata's style

@WilliamMindWorXMariager would you like me to join again?

@Dave it can't be like that

because its ton easier to check
why not

since you might pass through same column twice, but in different times

11:26 PM
Also just fixed a bug where you could log in multiple times.
Now it'll disconnect the current login if you try to login with another client.

what you mean gajet

for example this case :

Still can't move around @Gajet?
Now it crashed. :P

`S#####`
`.#E...`
`.####.`
`......`
@WilliamMindWorXMariager seems it crashes when I forcefully close the client
(I mean via alt+f4)

11:29 PM
but I still couldn't move

Really odd. :P

is server your pc right now?
@dave did you get the example?

no lol :P
looks like some code to decrypt :P

I don't know why it didn't format it correctly :(

I guess the reason you can't move is because it's streaming 60 TCP packets per second. Assuming your connection is horrid, this create a backlog that'll at some point burst or in some other way cause issues.

11:30 PM
use paste.to
or to save time this is what im doing
				if( i in astar && j in astar[i] ){
					ctx2.fillStyle = "#000";
					ctx2.fillRect (abposx,abposy,10,10);
				}
astar is:

return(path);
its not json stringyfied
because then i can't do the in check

@WilliamMindWorXMariager wrong password will result in client crash

Oh, that's cause the server wasn't running. :P
I'm not checking that yet. Silly me. :P
Anyways, it's running now, please try again.

@dave check this: codepaste.net/m6m6x9

Heh, I should remove the default account name. :P

yeh but if i wanted to draw the path from loops - my "in && in" method doesn't work

11:34 PM
Lets see how long it takes before it dies. :P
Try and close it right away.

@WilliamMindWorXMariager now it moves,

I have to keep a key pressed for at least one second to see it's effect

What about if you press it for like half a second, does it move a bit after?

I don't think it's cause entirely by my connection since not even 1% of my connection is used
@WilliamMindWorXMariager no
@Dave then try some old fashion method

11:36 PM
This is round-back movement, which means when you press, the server is told, and then the server moves you. So before you move, the data has to reach me and back to you.
Try and close it.
See what happens

hmm
ill ask in js chat see if they have the best idea

alt+f4 or other way?

efficientcy is important at this point :P

Just alt+f4
@Dave, Efficiency is only ever important if you have performance issues.
@Gajet, Hey, you disconnected without issues. :D

:D

11:37 PM
not really cos i dont have a working mobile to test my engine
so i dont wana back track at a later date

@WilliamMindWorXMariager ant changes in server code?
@WilliamMindWorXMariager you didn't tell me I could change default username via xml configuration!

Hehe
I found the issue, now I need to figure out why it happens. It seems when you disconnect, it doesn't fire the required event. I'll see what is the cause.

but seriously where does server.legeria.com point to?

Just my local computer.

as I suspected.

11:40 PM
back in a bit guys :)

It's just easier to remember server.legeria.com. :P

I want a server!
:D
to upload my nighties

Hehe
Could you connect, and just close right away again?
Invalid password? :P

first time yeah

I accidentally closed the server I think. :P
Alright, it's running. :P

11:44 PM
hah?
two times?
exactly when I closed the client?

?
The server is running as it should right now.
Haven't gotten any login attempts from you yet.

I mistype my password, every time I try to be careful

Hehe
This is weird.

logged in and closed, before all the contents arrive

That's fine. :)
So, the event is triggered, which should cause this:
    private void Users_UserLeaves(User user)
    {
        this.states.Remove(user.NetworkClient);
    }
However, even so, you're not removed from the states collection. :s
Causing an error later, when looping over the collection.

11:50 PM
I guess that's because you are not receiving proper close connection event

I'm also handling all exceptions, and treating them as a close event.

and later you just get "connection forcefully closed by peer" or equivalent error in C#

It seems that the NetworkClient is somehow modified, so it doesn't match the one in the collection anymore. :s
In any case, I've switched to User as key now.
Lets see if it works properly.
Could you try reconnecting and closing again?

did it

Perfect
Now that part works properly.
Now something else is going nuts. :P
I think it has a lot to do with whatever is morphing that class.
I'll make some food and be back soon.
Then it's time to find out what's causing this bitch!

11:53 PM
I won't be here by that time
I've just managed to reduce my game client size to 8MB
good night everyone
though it will increase again over time
