Q: Why didn't Judge Dredd receive any aircraft backup after their 10-24 call?

Dan DascalescuAfter Ma-Ma's clan machine guns Peach Trees so bad that some bullets penetrate the concrete and exit the building, Dredd blows a hole in the wall so he and Rookie Anderson get out of the building, on a high floor (50-something?), near a skating rink. Even though they were aware that the blast shi...

Q: How come Kay doesn't know that a judge's gun is coded to their DNA?

Dan DascalescuWhen Kay tries to shoot Rookie Anderson in Dredd (2012), the gun self-destroys, because Judge guns are coded to their DNA. This fact should be well-known to Ma-Ma's clan, and Kay did mention earlier specifically that he had seen many Judges, and Anderson didn't have what it takes to be one. Ander...

Q: What exactly proved that Midway was the AF?

Nelson BlakeIn Midway (2019), Washington believes that AF is located in the South Pacific But Layton denies it: Layton: I heard that Midway accidentally sent out an unencrypted transmission that their water plant was broken. Nimitz: And is their water plant broken? Layton: Not that I know of, sir. But that ...

Q: Why in the films of era 1917 and before

dmtriWhy in the films of year 1917 and before, the scenes seem to run faster like the normal speed? Does it have to do something with the equipment of that era or that the actors used to act like that?

Q: Etiquette when answering own question?

Moon ChildWhen watching Taxi Driver I noticed that a character named Sport had a long pink fingernail. I didn't know why and thought about asking here. But googling pointed me towards a reddit post. Such a question had not been asked on M&TV before and the reddit post is not that great an answer. So I deci...

Q: Why is Lucifer portrayed with dirty feet?

mattiav27At the end of the movie Constantine, we meet Lucifer: a man wearing an unstained white dress and dirty feet. Why is he depicted like that? In particular: why the dirty feet?

@AnkitSharma No sorry. Crap is crap.
Yes, his criticisms would have died down because of respect for the recently deceased, but killing yourself does not make you a hero.

Q: Why didn't Tessee recognize Watson when he went to the restaurant?

Seishura'One Watson, One Holmes', S03E19 from Elementary. Am I missing something? Because I don't think Tessee wouldn't know both Sherlock and Watson at that point, since he was big in Everyone.

@M.A.R. part of the frustration is also that crap is often also highly regarded and rewarded.
Actors being so over-dramatic, totally ruining the character and then winning the awards for doing that..
Is it just me who doesn't like a lot of unrelated glamour in a movie ?

Q: Identifying an old French movie about poor parents' infant adopted by a rich family

AndreiI would like to identify an old French movie about an infant born into a very poor family. The child is adopted by a rich, childless family and grows up in a well-to-do environment. Many years later, as a young man, he returns to the village where he was born and is rather disgusted with his orig...

@ankii Are you referring to the movie Ankit's Tweet screenshot is referring to?
And you're definitely not wrong not to want that.
Every profession, passion or art has a certain destructive attitude that makes people roll their eyes and think lowly of the entire community of people pursuing that field of interest.
When an artist gets ahead of themselves like that, they make people roll their eyes and say "that's what artists are. Selfish dreamy over-emotional dorks"
When a philosopher keeps throwing Latin jargon around and interrupting every conversation with their logic policing, people roll their eyes and say "philosophers are good-for-nothing introverted weirdos that don't help anything in the society and yet assert their opinions above everyone else"
When doctors . . . You get the idea.
So when someone, for the sake of being different, makes an empty fuss about an unimportant first world problem, they're hurting the entire community they consider themselves part of. That's a huge responsibility
There's something about this chat that makes me go this crazy and ramble about stuff
