Kodos JohnsonIn one episode of the classic sitcom I Love Lucy, Lucy's mother-in-law arrives from Cuba to visit Lucy and Ricky. In one scene, Lucy is alone with her mother-in-law. Unfortunately, Lucy can't speak Spanish and her mother-in-law can't speak English. Lucy tries to communicate by using gestures. At ...

A J
@Vishwa Yes.

5:54 AM
@AJ why?

A J
@Vishwa Cause they were chatty.

6:36 AM
@AJ so? they were related to answer as I recall. do you always delete comments just because they're interactive? im curious

1 hour later…
8:04 AM
@Vishwa Being chatty is one of the main reasons for a chain of comments to be deleted.
If the list of comments gets longer than the answer . . . It's high time the useful ones are incorporated into the answer and the rest deleted.

8:56 AM
@MovieReel This was the first video result on YouTube. I didn't specifically check for mythbusters

@AJ @NogShine have you guys seen Ram Teri Ganga Maili? I man how it passed from censor board

A J
2:55 PM
@AnkitSharma I have watched it. There's nipple flash in a couple of scenes. Maybe at that time they didn't bother about it much.

@AJ flashing is in a whole song and then breastfeeding. Anyways didn't know it was on YouTube youtube.com/watch?v=QmVzbgtw2Vk

A J
Not sure but maybe people who were able to watch cinemas were from rich families at that time.

I mean that scene was not necessary
And censor has been evolved/devolved a lot it seems

A J
@AnkitSharma It wasn't supposed to take it as sexually but have you ever seen Satyam Shivam Sundaram?

@AJ yes and Joker

A J

Q: Were the women of Travancore, India, taxed for covering their breasts by breast size?

Jayadevan VijayanThere are some claims regarding a weird tax which existed just over a century ago in a part of India. Several articles say that this tax existed. For example, the Economic Times: State of Travancore imposed a breast tax on women belonging to disadvantaged sections of society. Women from lowe...

Q: If Hugh was not given back to the Borg, what did the Borg scout ship plan to do?

Rob JacksonI always felt this episode was more a sequel to "Q Who" than "Best of Both Worlds" (and as a result creepy) simply because I always got the intention that the Borg were going to destroy the Enterprise if they had not handed Hugh back to the Collective. Assimilation is creepy, but in the episodes ...

@AJ wait let me dig

A J
Ok

I can't find proof maybe someone told me the wrong story ritsin.com/why-when-sita-cursed.html this story is similar but no breast covering related curse involved

Q: How did Walt poisoned Brock? Does the little boy knew that Mr. Walt pisioned him?

Saksham1.Walt poisoned the little boy Brock using Lily Of The Valley but its not clarified how and when he did that. 2. I was wondering because Brock's behaviour around Mr. Walt was bit odd after he comes back from hospital. Please throw some light.

4:39 PM
@MovieReel I thought we were over this poision quest

Q: How did Walter White poison that character?

ashveliI've seen Breaking Bad complete series 2-3 times, but I never found out how Walter White was able to poison Brock. I mean did he himself directly feed the Valley of the Lilly berries to Brock or did he let Saul do the work? I can't figure it out.

If anyone cares to comment, I doubt its meta-worthy. I fail to understand again why someone asks a question and answers it on same minute with very thorough answer. Seems it was planned all long?movies.stackexchange.com/questions/32486/…

@Paharet to answer some common questions?

How are "common questions" determined?

@AnkitSharma hurray, I once considered watching it, no longer
@Paharet everyone can use the site, thus everyone can determine.
rep indicates some active participation. So yeah I am not surprised.

Q: How can I download an older version of OS X/macOS?

TetsujinAs older versions of macOS & OS X no longer appear on the App Store search, how can I get any older version of a Mac OS to be able to run as a VM, or to reinstall on my Mac? Q: What is Apple Card and how do I get one?

Nimesh NeemaApple released Apple Card this month (August 2019). What is it and how is it different from other similar cards? How do I apply for it? How do I know if it's available in my country?

@Paharet but it was discussed on Ask diff meta. so a community wiki is maintained to list all such canonical questions
hi @M.A.R.

5:54 PM
\o

well I was just passing by... gotta go.

That would have been my second thought, if that has been asked so many times over, why isn´t it Community Q&A, like other S.E. communities do it?

@Paharet well rep is one factor

@Paharet self-answers are pretty okay if it's content we're okay with.
When you try to post something, there's even the button to post an answer simultaneously

I am not against self-answering. But posting Q&A on same minute, especially if the Q is deemed often asked, it kinda begs to be Community

5:58 PM
CW is for when it's truly a community effort. Being a common question is not enough criteria. Think 30 edits and the original author did around 30 of the recent version of the post.

@ankii first season is good, second not necesasry but not bad mayeb a little disturbing (some prts), seaosn 3 utter waste

Sadly, I was afraid it would come to "rep farming" ... at least its said out here

@AnkitSharma I know that, and the part its encouraged, I always saw that as, if I figure it out later and yet no good answer has been posted. But this kinda begs farm rep, although I can´t see why that is necessary here

@Paharet instant self answer can be helful. Let's imagine I want to know why X did Y and I got answer but but it's not easy to found on internet, not properly answered or spread out on multiple sources and I can make proper answer then why not
@Paharet SE give you option to post answer with question too, so tehre is no rule to wait for X amount of time

6:02 PM
@Paharet It ultimately boils down to people seeing it and upvoting it. Do not confuse rep farming with gaining rep. It's OK if someone gains rep as long as the rep is legit. Why should they refrain from sharing their knowledge because they already know the answer?

But many people do have issue with self answer and many tim they get downvotes for same

@AnkitSharma good point, the issue is much clearer now for me

I've more or less known the answer to all of the few M&TV questions I asked. But if it can benefit someone else, and if it helps them see things from another perspective, adding to their enjoyment of the film, why not ask it.
@AnkitSharma One of my biggest pet peeves

@M.A.R. lol

Even that Pfarrer thing, I could spend some time and come up with a pretty good answer.
Downvoting self-answers is not righteous. It's petty jealousy, and people mistake it or excuse it as being righteous.

6:05 PM
I have many self answer too, when within a day I got free enough and dig proper or a tiwtter reply to my own question from officila people etc

Downvoting answers to off-topic questions to try and prevent rep farming is righteous (and helpful), because it stops harmful behavior.

Agreed'

Well, I have one self-answered question I'm proud of. On chem.

Is there a query to get a list of self answers O.o

In your mind
But I guess there would be

6:07 PM
Or should I ask mods @aj stop being lazy

No, pretty sure it's done by SEDE if it's doable
@AJ stop being lazy anyway

Off-topic is one-issue, but I remember from old times I saw loads of questions that lead to (even with their own questions title) to right answer in any search engine, mostly reddit or other forum..

I though AJ came but it was random user

@Paharet And that is a perfectly good reason to downvote a question most of the time. Lack of research.
If you think a post will not be useful as part of the "repository of knowledge" that the SE site aims to be, that's a perfectly good reason to downvote it.
Of course, you can also downvote or upvote for trivial reasons. Some people do. Votes are ours to do with them as we see fit. We can only explain how they can be utilized to the benefit of more people, and good (and bad) conventions in using them.

Q: In "Descent" why did the renegade Borg retrieve their dead the first time, but in the second attack, they didn't?

Rob JacksonIn the beginning of the episode "Descent" from Star Trek: The Next Generation, when they fight the Federation on their (Federation's) outpost, they did what Borg usually do with their dead, but in the second fight they had with the Federation, against Captain Picard, on his ship, and against his ...

Q: Sentenced to the Army- does this ever happen in real life?
