Q: Why does Brigitte Mohnhaupt deliberately destroy the execution myth and how accurate is her closing dialogue?

Napoleon WilsonAt the very end of The Baader Meinhof Complex, after the efforts for pressing the RAF leaders free have failed and they thus commited suicide in Stammheim prison, Brigitte Mohnhaupt speaks to the next generation of RAF members, who are enraged that the government allegedly pulled through with the...

Q: The Hateful Eight: Why does Chris Mannix hate Joe Gage?

Thai Le'TysterThis is my favorite movie of Western genre in recent years. I've watched the theater cut and the deleted scenes many times and my question above has always stumped me. There was no interaction between Chris and Joe save for when Chris went to get Joe to share his Brandy, which Joe did, in the de...

@AnkitSharma I dunno an atom about that bloke, but I like him. he's nice and always ready to help. never actually get the chance to meet Walt (he's rarely here now :( ) but I've seen this one in action. nice guy
@AnkitSharma if he comes back, that'd take only few hours (days at most)

DC's Legends of Tomorrow, or simply Legends of Tomorrow, is an American superhero television series developed by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, and Phil Klemmer, who are also executive producers along with Sarah Schechter and Chris Fedak; Klemmer and Fedak serve as showrunners. The series, based on the characters of DC Comics, airs on The CW and is a spin-off featuring characters introduced in Arrow and The Flash along with new characters, set in the Arrowverse, the same fictional universe. It is the fourth series in the Arrowverse, after Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl. The...
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ didn't rememeber him from that
@Vishwa yep
@AnkitSharma no idea, i assumed Snyder was like snide because we make fun of DC/WB being crap in making the DCEU where marvel succeeded
@Vishwa well i think CW did Krypton which might explain the speculated universe ending shitstorn Adam Strange thinks me might have sparked when he went to try and save Superman's past
and Krypton is ok, though they already introduced a new story twist involving Jor-El which might mean a third season
assuming that to stop speculated universe ending shitstorn doesn't just erase that twist and restore the timeline properly. ie Adam goes back to before he went back in time and yells in his face "DON'T FUCK WITH TIME, SUPERMAN IS GOING TO BE OK!"
07:38
@Memor-X all this time I thought otherwise, apologies :)
How gentlemanly.
Marvel succeeded only because they had a **plan** and they followed it with improvements. while DC didn't even had a plan and they just wildly,blindly torching every branch they could find, wishing it'd burn up the world, Aquaman did(a little) and JLU eats the crap.

I always think, if DC had a plan and if they follow it with improvements on the way, like Marvel did, then DC characters can easily go for the higher box-office and/or ratings.

lil example: tv series like |Swamp thing, Titans, Boys and even Vertigos like Lucifer, and Preacher
I might be in the minority here, but I think Shazam was incoherent.
It started promising. With all the cool quotes and stuff.
@Memor-X well, tryth be told, I wouldn't know anything about krypton. I was bored with the first few episodes and never ever went back for it again. was done with CW long ago, that made me even dun wanna look at CW anymore.
It lost focus right when Billy got his powers.
07:44
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ well, that came with DNA. sorry about that too :P
Are you Canadian
The final fight was very unevenly paced, or that's how I felt it.
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ yeah, final scenes are just dumb. I mean, yes we get to see the family and all, but I'm like 'nah.. not good' while watching it. I only enjoyed the scenes with billy turning Shazam and had no clue what to do.
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ bloody'el.. no no!!
It just felt like DC can't make a movie I'd like a lot, by the time I was finished with the movie.
I'm a multi-racial dude who looks like a dude with completely different race and act like a dude from different different race and talk like different different different race. born in Irelend, have genes from irish, british, japanese.. complicated enough?
@Memor-X I though Krypton is SyFy
07:49
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ DCEU? yes you're right. Aquaman was somewhat promising until the some end scenes.
@AnkitSharma watched it?
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ watch and learn :p
@Vishwa no as I can't watch anotehr show with another same characters
@Vishwa The Boys is not DC
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ I loved Shazam but they never promoted it properly and early screening were way to early to kill the buzz
Krypton is an American television series developed by David S. Goyer for Syfy. Focusing on Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe), the grandfather of DC Comics superhero Kal-El/Superman, the series is set approximately 200 years before the birth of Superman and takes place on the eponymous fictional planet. Krypton premiered on March 21, 2018. Its first season consists of ten episodes. In May 2018, Syfy renewed Krypton for a second season of ten episodes, which premiered on June 12, 2019. == Premise == Krypton follows Superman's grandfather, Seg-El, whose family, the House of El, has been ostracized and shamed...
It's SyFy only not CW @Memor-X @Vishwa @M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ
It's not even arrowverse
@Vishwa I am bored of CW stuff and that's why skipped Black Lightning too but Batwoman I want to check
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ I disagree
Only shazam issue I had is 7 sins were booooring, in comics they are more lively
@Vishwa wow
@Vishwa I will still debate Men fo Steel was really good, WOnder woman was best except the last CGI fuckfest
08:09
@AnkitSharma I couldn't care less about such TV shows Ankit. Sorry
@AnkitSharma Wasn't the final fight really unevenly paced? It couldn't keep me interested at all. They're all chasing each other and fighting, suddenly they stop to talk, then there's another fight, so on.
I really liked how it began, and the awesome quotes were really promising in the beginning. A couple of scenes before he meets his blood mother they suddenly stop.
Shazam holds a 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, but Iron Man 3 holds an 80 percent. But I find the character development in the two really incomparable.
Billy's being this hypocritical loser of a hero, and suddenly "OMG now you just messed with a family I hated two days ago"?
It was a poor execution of him realizing how to be a hero, if it was one.
Almost like the director incorporated all of the cool scenes about Billy's character and the corporate morons just edited them out for being boring.
Either way, I hadn't even fully watched Wonder Woman first, but now I'm not going to. DCEU has been a letdown, and unless something fundamentally changes, they will not ever make something I'd fully enjoy.
Was Shazam a good movie? Sure. Was it something I'd recommend anyone else to watch? No way. Not the slightest chance. Except maybe the first 20–30 minutes.
Hi @Cat! We're in the middle of a meeting.
"Critical consensus of The Screening Room on quality of the recent DCEU motion picture under constant temperature and pressure—A case study"
08:39
There was shazam dleeted scene about why seven seats in the hall
when we are 6
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Iron man 3 was bleh
@AnkitSharma Agree to disagree. You haven't watched enough Shane Black, maybe.
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ he directed 5 films with IM3 being 2nd
And his last movie The Predator nobody gave a flying fuck except when the actress did some #MeToo I guess
@AnkitSharma Have you watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Nice Guys?
And if so, have you tried to get why they're funny?
Look into the deeper meaning, as they'd put
@AnkitSharma He was trying to make a movie about a doomed (IMO) franchise funny. He wasn't enough.
*as they'd put it
I heard a lot of Shane Black enthusiasts say the Predator film failed, too, though, especially because of the odd humour.
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ no
08:49
Maybe don't make the Predator funny? Rethink your premise before trying to find someone who can make it funny.
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ I am not into funny stuff but can try someday
@AnkitSharma Do it! Good movies
@NapoleonWilson I haven't watched it, and I would have only if it got a good rating.
@NapoleonWilson or just stop rebooting remaking Alien and Predator
Both franchise failed in last rebooteish sequels
To me, it seemed like trying to make a Transformers 6 . . . if the previous five didn't even have a bright box office success to back the franchise.
But we need the Alien remake with Bradley Cooper as Ripley.
08:51
Only 100th time rebooted franchises I have trust in are Batman and Terminator as both look promising
@NapoleonWilson There are very few franchises that come to mind that are more screwed up than AVP.
Batman, dunno. But I believe in Matt Reeves.
I'd need to see Tenet so I could decide whether I could get myself to like him
But Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Nice Guys are indeed excellent films.
Actually, he has a good 2018 (?) movie which seems to be the reason Nolan and Reeves and God-knows-who are after him
As are classics like Lethal Weapon and The Last Boy Scout, the latter of which features some of the best one-liners ever written.
@NapoleonWilson I wouldn't doubt for a second you'd say that. The 2018 Predator, to me, sounds like The Watch. Ben's Stiller's incredibly dumb movie.
08:57
@AnkitSharma thought so :D
@AnkitSharma isn't it related somehow? gonna binge it tomorrow
When a franchise gets that worn out, characters start doing dumb things for no reason. Perfect setting for failure. I dunno if people say the humor was the culprit, but there seem far bigger issues, ones that a director can't help much either.
@AnkitSharma thanks :) didnt notice that, show was not good to Sy-Fy's rep
@AnkitSharma anything special? would it be different than common CW/Arrowverse crap?
It's so weird that a planet is called Kr.
@AnkitSharma people react differently almost every time... :/
@AnkitSharma won't argue with that, but they could do so much better....
@Vishwa People are different. So reactions are different.
09:01
@Vishwa So you'd be dishonoring your multiple ancestors if you don't learn all those languages by the time you're 50 ;)
@NogShine —Gandhi
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ lol
Seriously though, if you want a close to 100 percent guarantee that you won't suffer Alzheimer's when you get old, learn new languages.
And do math.
@AnkitSharma that's the only scene that I watched both my eyes opened
Soduku and all those weird puzzles are overrated
@NapoleonWilson IMO, it's mostly because it lacks a story. failed in story-telling and scene flow. some says that AvP and other minor releases are better than the newer one
09:06
@Vishwa My brother's watched a few scenes, and he says that it's just dumb.
@NapoleonWilson good experiment would be if you're going to make it funny, give it to Steve Carrel and/or Will Ferrel with Seth Macfarlane and Seth Rogen combination
Yeah...or...not.
This big-shot legendary hunter comes around killing people for sport and a few neighborhood losers are the only forces on Earth that can stop it.
> Oh my God, I think I just threw up in my mask.
You know, just, talk so it'd scroll off.
Those names really aggravate me
It'd be probably fitting though. While they're busy making a dumb movie I won't watch, really funny people will make the real budgeted movies good.
Kinda sad, I think the Grim Reaver guy in Logan has potential to be a fine actor
@NogShine what if someone hates you just because you're an indian? what if your boss treat you differently just because you're related to irish and boss is pure white british? I get people are different, but it goes south pretty quickly sometimes. I heard that in india, women gets lower salary, treated bad and considered low caste (or something similar) just because they are women.
He was trying really hard to replicate Tom Hardy, but he wasn't being an annoying fake
09:11
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ ugh... you're just like my mum used to say.and trust me still do... :P to be frank, I'd love to. but time is the fact
. . . maybe don't watch the next Steve Carrel movie
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ math makes you want to become Alzheimer patient
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ perfect when internet is down ;)
That's...not fundamentally different in many other places around the world, even if to vastly different degrees.
@Vishwa That's how life works. If you don't want to be miserable at some later point in time, you have to be miserable now.
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ amen to that
@NapoleonWilson open for discussion mate :)
09:13
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Tom Hardy isn't an "annoying fake", though.
@NapoleonWilson Which? Misogyny?
With a different word maybe, but yes.
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ why?
@NapoleonWilson No I mean he was trying to adapt Hardy's style, but he (the Grim Reaver guy) wasn't being annoying by doing that, and you enjoyed his performance
Good grief. "annoying" and "Tom Hardy" are as orthogonal as it gets.
Maybe orthogonal in 4D.
He wasn't being a cheap copy, is what I'm saying. The Grim Reaver guy.
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Imma die when I feel Im not good enough to live further on, that's my life plan. gonna kill myself doing spelunking, hiking, jumping over cliffs and every other shit
09:17
@Vishwa The Boys is dark perody of sueprhero in general but draw inspiration from justice league
@Vishwa It feels sad. Yeah, women are paid less compared to men.
@AnkitSharma just saw the trailer and got too exited I guess then,
I don't know what a "Grim Reaver" is supposed to be. But if you're talking about the dude from The Guest, he's nice, I guess.
@Vishwa I like Batwoman, she got messed up in comics later. Let's see how CW handle it.
@NogShine just because of the gender?
09:19
@Vishwa maybe
@NogShine take no offense please, just checking while I remember this. You're a dude right? Until today I thought Memor-X was a dude but turns out I'm dead wrong. just checkin ;)
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ I don't like that guy
@NapoleonWilson he's talking about the guy from Logan
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ agreed
09:20
@AnkitSharma don't keep your hopes up though, it's CW
@Vishwa Yeah. Sometimes.
@Vishwa Yeah. I am a male.
@AnkitSharma any news on Swamp Thing gets picked up for season 2 yet?
@NapoleonWilson first black lesbian James Bond :P
@AnkitSharma Bradley cooper?
@Vishwa not seen 1st season but I guess HBO Max might pick it hopefully
@Vishwa he is too white and have some extra body part to play the role
09:23
@AnkitSharma didn't get the part about black and lesbian
@AnkitSharma seriously? why?
@Vishwa agreed with the first sentence, second not really as things are changing and changed a lot too. Also the issue is when some girls play women card to ask equal pay with lack of talent
@Vishwa I loved The Boys, might ask questions about it soon
@NapoleonWilson Googles . . . Boyd Holbrook. I'm saying he was imitating Tom Hardy's style, but he was not being an annoying, cheap copy, and his performance was enjoyable. Tom Hardy himself is out of the question
@NapoleonWilson common that film story is so bollywoody and boring in first half and so weird in second and actor was pale
@NapoleonWilson Grim reavers were, if memory serves, the rednecks with metallic hands and stuff. Rice's goons that were chasing the mutants
@Vishwa Memor is transitioning and did declare about his sex in chat
So you were not wrong just not updated
09:29
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Yes, I got what you were saying.
@Vishwa I want to keep it high, it's best example of representation and I want it to be good
If it was ever unclear, BTW, I'm a cisgendered hetero male.
@Vishwa it was joke, Napolean don't want James Bond female as per rumour and I made a joke
I started out by assuming people's gender, then it often happened that I was wrong in my mental image of someone being female or male, so I just dropped it. Now I just don't assume anything.
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Don't worry, that's the default anyway. ;-P
09:31
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ he was bleh
Not that it would matter on the internet or SE, though.
@NapoleonWilson This stuff gets confusing
Pretty uncomfortable discussing it though, being from an Asian background.
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ like I used to think Scifi ex-mod Richard was female but I was wrong
@AnkitSharma I have finally found the meaning of your "bleh". It means something or someone is good/high quality/excellent but you won't admit it.
@AnkitSharma Yeah...some dude having a profile picture of a hot SF&F girl doesn't run a big chance of...being that person. ;-)
09:33
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ nonsense
Has a high chance of being a spammer
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ ...
What, it's true
Teehee
@NapoleonWilson me being a guy always prefered having same-gender profile pic or maybe we can blame my sexuality for it
@AnkitSharma Yeah yeah. I guess my remark was "bleh"
09:35
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ you ruined bleh for forever
@AnkitSharma Personalities differ
@AnkitSharma Good deed of the day
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ lol
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ hmm
I think my impression is guys who prefer female avatars, if they were to choose a person, outnumber those who prefer male avatars easily.
I'm uncomfortable either way. If some image is going to be representative of me on the internet, I'd prefer if it weren't human.
@AnkitSharma I see...
@AnkitSharma no spoiling :P
@AnkitSharma um... what now? :O
@AnkitSharma what I meant is, its just CW.
09:51
@Vishwa don't worry I will not but rmemeber it can be darker and not like normal superhero stuff
@Vishwa yeah yeah I know
83,833 nice
it will look better with 83838
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ I'm not thinking about that at all :P
@AnkitSharma turns out, me neither
@AnkitSharma but you hide your true age eh?
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ gonna follow your steps on this from now on
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ what the heck is in your profile picture is the burning question that kept me awake most nights!
@AnkitSharma that's my over-hyped excitement is about. 100% good heroes/100% bad villains are overrated
@Vishwa 30 year and 2.5 months
@Vishwa this one is more like Justice League meet deadpoool meet wrong turn

Q: Is Odin inconsistent about the powers of Mjolnir?

RenatIn Avengers: Endgame in the final battle with Thanos And I remembered in Thor: Ragnarok when Thor complained to Odin about being powerless with the hammer, to which Odin replied "Are you Thor, the God of hammers? The hammer is only to control your power" or something like that (don't remember ...

11:19
@AnkitSharma nice..
@Vishwa Rest assured it's something nerdy and you're better off not knowing it since you will not probably show any interest.
So the mystical version has your interest at least
> The secret impresses no one. The trick you use it for is everything.
room topic changed to The Screening Room: “The secret impresses no one. The trick you use it for is everything.” [mod-rage] [sarcasm-at-its-finest] [sardonic]
Google say The Prestige
11:35
@AnkitSharma I have told you myself what it is.
Case in point, you're better off not knowing what it is, because the truth is immemorable
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ I was replying to Napolean
I'm sure he was referring to the quote that so excellently captured your attitude towards your profile picture.
Jesus Christ. It's a twistboat cyclohexane conformation. There.
^ @Vishwa
But yeah, there's certainly some noticeable Nolan tinge to the quote
See, and you couldn't resist it. People didn't even have to beg and flatter you, but now you're still nothing to them anymore, with your boring chemistry picture.
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ why would I'd show no interest? :/
11:46
@Vishwa Because it's not very interesting unless you're a chemist
@Vishwa I'm not a chemist, but to get to the point when you get the fuzzy geeky feeling of how interesting this topic is, you'd need to read some 50 pages of stuff. It's the equivalent of a botanist going crazy about some boring green leaves and you have no frigging idea why.
In this case, it's interesting because it's combining geometry and potential energy in physics in a chemistry context
12:06
@NapoleonWilson The Prestige
@AnkitSharma Didn't google or check your message.
Nolanization

Yet you had to google the quote.
@AnkitSharma yeh, it seems i was getting confused with The Outpost
dang, here i was thinking that maybe Adam's comment was a hint that CW's Crisis was going to do a clean slate
13:50
@NapoleonWilson sorry I am bad with remebering quotes
14:02
@Memor-X I don't think so. Anywyas arrowverse already annoced having batman and multiple sueprman for crisis. But I hope they kill lot os hero to make it less crowded
Ys me bsthinks tht to.
@AnkitSharma Whole movie is based on that single quote I guess. The trick which Prestige uses and Alfred trying to understanding it.
@AnkitSharma He also thinks the same.
14:19
I actually don't, but wanted to write as much of a mess as Ankit did. ;-)
