In fact the new 8 hours delay to HNQ is quite interesting in general. I wonder what impact it will have on the chances for getting an HNQ altogether. Most of the times a questions tends to become HNQ simply for getting an answer fast (for better for worse) and then just kicking in the usual perpetuum mobile effect of HNQ voting.

But without this initial boost, it might very well be that we won't see too many HNQs anymore, given that we're quite a low-voting site in general.

Would have been interesting to check out how this works out while we still had a big HNQ topic going. But now that both Endgame and GoT are fading out, it'll be hard to gather a rough impression of that.

What you say. I'm curious to see how it plays out, but I'd also have been more curious to see the behavior if that had been kicked up two weeks ago.

But overall I'm very glad the "fast and easy, but not that worth it" answers aren't pushing it anymore.
