Q: Best Aegon-Genetic Claim of the Iron Throne?

user73236I was interested in formulating who has the best claim to the Iron Throne in Game of Thrones based on real life genetics if we take Aegon's original claim as the gold standard. As a disclaimer, I am not a geneticist (so someone can school me). Here are the possible rules as I see them: based on h...

Q: Did Wags mean that he and Axe had been to prison?

Gimme the 411In Billions S02E11 (Golden Frog Time), Axe says "Call it what you will, but we all know you've gotta shank someone to earn respect on the yard." Taylor then asks "How many jailhouse movies did you two watch growing up?" Wags says "We didn't have computers". Does Wags' line mean that they learn...

Q: Are there duplicate space stones in the past in Endgame?

ripper234When the Avengers go back they try to grab both the Tesseract (cube wrapped space stone) and Loki's scepter. They only manage to grab the scepter, since Loki vanishes with the Tesseract. How come both the Tesseract and the blue stone in the scepter exist in the same timeline? Aren't they one and...

Q: What did Happy mean by this?

NazgulIn the new Spider Man Far From Home trailer Happy says this to Peter: I don't think Tony would've done what he did if he knew you were gonna be here after he was gone. So why did Happy say this? Which place or condition was Happy talking about? What was wrong about Peter begin there?

Q: Why do the lights go out when someone enters the dining room on this ship?

problemofficerIn the tenth episode of the first season of The Twilight Zone named Judgment Night which takes place during the 2nd World War a civilian ship is on its way from London to New York and is trying to escape a submarine attack from the Germans. Whenever a character enters or leaves the dining room o...

5:43 PM
No. It's not really necessary.

6:38 PM
BUT do you have StormDetector?
@NapoleonWilson Idea: Make Movie Reel post new posts as that curtain feed instead of a huge onebox, and add a feed for HNQ posts as messages.
That's the best compromise I can come up with with @Ankit's love of gigantic conversation interrupters.
Although not much conversation has been going on in this chat
But c'mon we can do things a little bit neater
Invoking Napoleon's Germanness

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ You mean the dropdown popup on the top of the window? No, those things are incredibly annoying.

@NapoleonWilson How are oneboxes better? o.o
Yeah, they can get annoying

They don't interrupt you with a popup you have to actively click away.

Oneboxes interrupt ongoing discussions in chat tho

And at the same time, you can reply to them. And they aren't entirely gone if you aren't in the room at that specific second. You can see them, discuss them and refer to them even later if you want.
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ They don't. You just continue talking. They vanish just normally, you don't have to click anything away.

6:53 PM
shrug

Also, once everyone has seen Endgame and GoT, it will tick back to about 5 a day anyway.

If they were smaller they wouldn't have

Granted, they aren't though.

shrug

And thus they're still the best compromise for getting an active question discussion into the room.

6:54 PM
Not many ongoing discussions lately anyway

A popup is useless. You can't reply to it, you can't discuss it, you can't read back on it. If you just want a live ticker for new questions, keep the main site open.

@NapoleonWilson Eh, that actually would either be Dizzle ranting about an actually good movie or Steeler . . . well, merely her entering the chat
@NapoleonWilson Well, I would kinda object to having every single question in the transcript in the first place
It's incredibly easy to just link the question you'd wanna discuss
That's how I chat half the time
But Ankit loved having them around, maybe for modding purposes

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Yeah, but this way it encourages discussion out of the blue.
And most improtantly, it hurts absolutely noone.

You might be overstating that aspect, but OK
Let's talk about something more interesting instead

We're not SO. I'm sure we can deal with a onebox every 3 hours without losing all grip of reality and inhibiting whatever we're currently talking about. ;-)

Q: Aren't Corpus Glaive and Ebony Maw more powerful than Thanos?

TarunWhile Corpus has the most powerful blade in the universe and Ebony Maw can do whatever he wants with his mind, while Thanos doesn't have any special power. Doesn't that make them more powerful than Thanos?

Q: How is narrative affected by cinema turnover schedules?

Steve V.My question comes from part of an answer on Writers which says, in part... Forcing the story to fit a rigid, arbitrary amount of pages – like a screenplay that must introduce pre-requisite conflicts at "percentages" of running time to fit cinema turnover schedules or TV commercial breaks – is...

Q: Is this artwork from another film? [Detective Pikachu spoiler]

FogmeisterI wish I had a screenshot of this but I haven’t been able to find one yet. When Tim first goes into Howard Clifford’s office there are tons of Pokemon Easter eggs everywhere. Plus there are general references to other films in the rest of the film. So something that caught my eye was the artwork...
