Q: What does a guest director do?

DustinDavisI was re-watching Sin City (2005) and noticed in the opening credits that Quentin Tarantino was listed as "Special Guest Director".This intrigued me, so I have a two part question (somewhat related). What does a guest (or special guest) director do? What is their job? Like an adviser/consultan...

Q: In House MD Babies & Bushwater why did Vogel cancel the c-section?

EnerccioI get that he did not want her in clinical trial and wanted to get on House, but risking patients life to do it? Wouldn't he be reliable in lawsuit against hospital for her death? Wouldn't better choice be to let her go through but then deny her entry to study?

Watched The Sixth Sense. A great movie with a great twist. We were made to believe that this character is alive with his normal activities. Great work by Shyamalan.
Now I know why this character keeps wearing the same dress in the whole movie.

@NogShine For people who aren't mods, nothing will show, until you hit 10k reputation, when it will show only your own deleted posts. Mods can use it to find all deleted posts on the site.

Q: How realistic is the oil rig security crew on Wind River?

bolovThe oil rig in Wind River is closed during winter and apparently has a security of about 6-8 men, all caring fire arms and they even have an automatic rifle. It seems very unbelievable to me that an oil rig in the middle of nowhere would have such a big armed security crew. How realistic is this...

Michael SternIn Spider-Man 3, after the evil "Green Goblinish" side awakens in Harry Osbourne, he confronts Mary Jane Watson and tells her to break up with her fiancé, Peter Parker. Q: Why is Gwen Stacy at the funeral?

Michael SternAt the end of Spider-Man 3, Gwen Stacy is seated prominently among the first row of mourners at the funeral of Harry Osbourne. Why? We've seen no sign up to this point that the two had ever met, and there's reason to think they never had. They didn't go to high school or college together, and th...

@Mithrandir Thanks. I was thinking that all the users can see their own deleted posts irrespective of rep. Is there an FR that users should be able to see their deleted posts?

JAD
uuuh, I see a bunch of posts that are not deleted at all

2:57 PM
@NogShine They can, they just can't search for 'em.
I'm sure there's feature requests for that on Meta Stack Exchange, though. But I'm also sure they're declined for a reason.

Haha. That's what I mean. Shouldn't there be a privilege to search our own posts?

You could also argue that 10k people should see all deleted questions when using the search, since they actually can see all of them on the post page and not just their own.

JAD
@NogShine well, recently deleted posts are visible on your profile

@NapoleonWilson Why are they declined? Currently, we can only search recent posts.
@JAD Only recent ones.

I don't know. I could imagine paranoia avoidance. Often stuff is deleted for a reason and you don't necessarily want everyone to make a huge fuss about it. Same how you don't get a notification for it.

3:00 PM
If one wants to improve an answer which was deleted as low quality or something after a long time, it is not possible to know where the post is.

But of course there's also genuine cases where people might want to improve their deleted posts or know what they did wrong.

JAD
@NogShine how often does that happen though?
after a long time that is

@NogShine Well, it usually comes with a comment that explains what's wrong anyway (or it should). Often even long before the deletion. (And even if only during the deletion, you can still click through to the comment.)
If you just throwaway that comment and try to improve the answer a year later (if ever), well...

@JAD 2 out of 1000 times

JAD
hmm

3:04 PM
Those two cases are after going on rant on meta

JAD
I don't think it really does any harm, a complete list of deleted stuff, but OTOH I don't see many people making use of it

Why I am thinking is my ID question will be deleted soon (or already deleted). I wanted to check other posts as well.

JAD
ah
I doubt deleted posts show up on SEDE

no, they don't

@NogShine Well, those you can't improve anymore anyway, though, they're locked.

JAD
3:07 PM
makes sense

And right now they're not deleted, so you can very well check them and see.

JAD
Hmm, I think mine is safe :)

If it helps, none of your questions have been deleted yet.

@NapoleonWilson bidding farewell for one last time?

@NogShine Well, as said. They're still there, so go bid farewell.

3:11 PM
Haha.

The formal CM request has also been issued a few minutes ago, so while they're likely on weekend now, I maybe wouldn't wait with the farewell till tomorrow evening.

Just curious, have you asked or answered an ID anytime?

Oh, I answered quite a few in the past. I also asked a few.

Oh.. okay.

A J
@NogShine He apparently has a tag badge for it.

3:15 PM
Seems I asked 4, 3 of which will be deleted soon (1 of which has already been deleted long ago and that I reasked later).

@AJ wow, yes, he does. I never specifically looked into his profile.

And I answered 53, it seems. Or actually 79, 26 of which are already deleted.

A J
@NogShine Never? Hmm.

@AJ Like you do. :P
Like which badges he has and what is tag score etc.,

A J
Yeah, I do. I once went through his profile for tag badges to see if he got the tag badge for .

3:18 PM
I do! And I would have gotten it long before I did, but tag badges require 100 questions overall to even exist.

A J
I watched The Sixth Sense. And I was curious why Bruce Willis character didn't change the attire the whole time.

@AJ Um, if you watched it till the end, you should know. ;-)

Q: What is that mv where a driver gives a lift to an old man while being chased by a gang?

@NapoleonWilson Why is your twitter name Film Haikus?

A J
@NapoleonWilson Yeah. In the end, it satisfied my curiosity.

3:20 PM
@NogShine Because I don't user Twitter for anything at all, except publishing haikus about film, which I haven't for a long time.

A J
Seriously, I was about to ask that question here.

@AJ Really? But doesn't the end make it clear? I mean, it's a nice observation that probably adds to the whole story and ending, but...the ending pretty much reveals it.
But maybe it makes for a good question, I don't want to keep you from it.

A J
@NapoleonWilson Na na. This question came to me during the movie, but it was answered in the end.

A J
@NapoleonWilson Like? I am not getting you.

3:23 PM
@AJ Because the guy's a ghost, duh! ;-P

A J
LOL
Another thing I observed was that he didn't talk to anybody else except Cole after that incident.

A J
lol
Did you watch Mystic River
?

A J
Seems like it got two oscars.
the best actor and the best actor in supporting role.

3:36 PM
Sure.

A J
Snatched?

A J
the movie. did you watch it?

The one from 2017? No, never heard of that before.

A J
Oh.
That's a comedy one

3:47 PM
Sure.

4:25 PM
Finished binge-watching Agent Carter and now I'm sad it never got the season 3 renewal... It was really nice seeing Peggy Carter kick ass and Jarvis goofiness
Punisher is the only thing left to see in the Marvel TVverse

I really liked the 1st season, but didn't get around to the 2nd one yet.
The period setting was really nice. Overall, it was a more engaging show than Agents of SHIELD to me.
@NikhilEshvar Agent Carter and The Punisher are technically different -verses, though.

4:38 PM
@NapoleonWilson Yes, Punisher is in the Netflixverse and the lovable agent in the ABCverse

She's also in the broader MCU actually.

Though Punisher is the only thing left in my to-see Marvel shows list

I'm not up to par on the Netflix series either, though. But I liked the ones I saw.

@NapoleonWilson The period setting is amplified two-fold in the 2nd season. Definitely watch it
@NapoleonWilson DD and Jessica Jones?

I watched two seasons of Daredevil and one of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage.

4:43 PM
@NapoleonWilson Then you watched the best shows Marvel-Netflix had to offer... Iron Fist is shitty that I forced myself to watch it to see Defenders
Defenders was sub-par... The initial episodes were watchable and the rest were cliched and long drawn...
And apparently I also missed Legion... SO yeah Punisher and Legion is left to watch.... And AoS 5th season... Wow it might take time :D

@NikhilEshvar Yeah, I heard so.
I only watched 1 season of Agents of SHIELD.
I totally forgot about Legion, though. I heard it was pretty good.

@NapoleonWilson Then, you already got the worst part out of the way... The forthcoming seasons are better trust me! :D AoS did not know what to focus on in the initial season and once they got their head in the game, the show is consistenly improving
AoS did a better Inhumans show than Inhumans itself... So give it a try...
And now I realized I haven't watched Inhumans fully yet! Goddammit! :D
@NapoleonWilson I watched one ep of Legion and my brain hurt. It's a great and mind-numbing show that I intend to start soon...

@NikhilEshvar Yeah, I heard about all that, with the HYDRA thing from Winter Soldier and all that stuff. But honestly, the later episodes of the 1st season that happened after Winter Soldier still didn't really entice me.
I mean, it was a nice show, I didn't dislike it. But there's enough on my list that I really don't think I need to bother with the rest of it.

@NapoleonWilson I get that... So many shows so little time...
And every show is nearly good... Btw have you seen iZombie?

4:55 PM
It's an underrated comicbook based (Vertigo) show

Yeah, I heard about it. With the zombie gal working in CSI, who eats the brains of corpses to see how they died.

...And she gets the characteristics of the person based on whose brain she eats
Each episode is bonkers when they experiment
Alright I'm going to sleep. The work week begins anew from tomorrow! So bye @NapoleonWilson

Good night!
Forntuately I don't have to work tomorrow, and tonight's especially long becuase of the Superbowl.
