Not a bad episode. Some dramatic events and some predictable turn-up.
15:23
@AnkitSharma Don't watch it. It's bleh. This is why I now hate Tom Cruise.
user116211
Did you hear the songs of Rock On 2 @AbhishekAggrawal?
user116211
Anyways, just noticed Rock On 2 performed disastrously in the Box Office.
@MAFIA36790 Nope. didn't get time for this. Right now I'm finishing my thriller stuff suggested by Ankit and Dizzle.
A word of advice.

Don't ask a man for recommendation about movies, who is in love. That guy suggested me a bunch of Hollywood romantic movies, like The Notebook, Knocked Out, Pretty Woman etc..
@MAFIA36790 possibly demonetization.
@steelerfan What about the movie Escape from Oregon? ;-)
user116211
15:42
@AbhishekAggrawal Well, Force2 literally could beat the domonetization then.
I heard that Pehlaj Nihalani asked to postpone all movies till this cash issue is solved.
@MAFIA36790 Are you searching for Pehlaj Nihalani? ;P
@AbhishekAggrawal ohhh
Did anybody see Top Gun, Colombiana, Shooter and This Means War?
user116211
I watched Top Gun and Shooter.
@MAFIA36790 How are these?
user116211
15:51
@AbhishekAggrawal I loved Tom Gun.
and Shooter?
@AbhishekAggrawal I don't like plain romantic films , even my fav romantic films have additional genre
user116211
@AbhishekAggrawal I liked both; but there is young Cruise in the former.
ok
and @AnkitSharma, did you see Top Gun, Colombiana, Shooter and This Means War?
16:18
@AbhishekAggrawal not my type films

Q: Where did the second Marty go?

fabrice dAt the end of Back to the Future (1985), Marty1 comes back to 1985 from 1955 to save Doc, and seems to get there too late. He sees Marty2 disappear into the past in the Delorean right upon his arrival. Where does Marty2 go? Does he go to the same 1955 (and therefore there are two Martys there, ...

Q: Movie Where an Asian Women Cuts Off Her Own Fingers While Cooking

Naiya55I don't have much information about this movie, unfortunately. I am pretty sure it was a Japanese horror film, and it was probably made sometime in or after the late 90s. In the scene a women is cooking food while talking to someone. I think it was her husband. When the other person walks away, ...

I just watched Black Sea, which was really nice.

A: Weekly Topic Challenge - Ideas

steelerfanKURT RUSSELL FILMS 2017 marks 55 years in the film industry for actor Kurt Russell. Let's celebrate his career by honoring him and his work with a weekly challenge.

22:13
@AnkitSharma Kurt Russell suggestion done!
@MAFIA36790 Spanglish question answered!
@AbhishekAggrawal I tried doing that last week...it didn't work :(
@NapoleonWilson Awww. I'm sorry. I left you a voicemail ;-*
@steelerfan Awww, you're here! \o/
@steelerfan Me tried to call you, but didn't leave a voicemail.
@steelerfan Don't worry, I was just joking. ;-*
@NapoleonWilson Awww. It's okay. I was awoken at 4am and was kinda out of it ;)
@steelerfan I meant about an hour ago.
@NapoleonWilson I am! I'm suggesting ToW challenges and answering questions like a madwoman! ;)
@NapoleonWilson You did? Why? Is everything okay?
@steelerfan Is there anything you don't do like a madwoman? ;-P
@steelerfan Oh, nothing serious. Just missing you, is all. It was worth a try.
But now I'll probably need to make me a chestnut soup or anything else edible.
How's da beach? 'S i' loveley?
22:25
@NapoleonWilson Awww. I'm sorry. I'm missing you too. But, you probably couldn't get me because I am at my dad's. No beach. The baby is sick :'(
@steelerfan Wut? Awww, I'm sorry. :'(
@NapoleonWilson It's okay. No worries. I just get to hang out with my dad all day. It's all good :)
@NapoleonWilson Hehehe! Good point!
Chestnut soup? Sounds interesting...
I'm having kale/cranberry salad. I made some for my dad and he gave me the "Do you seriously expect me to eat this" look ;)
@steelerfan It tastes really nice, and is quite easy to make.
And I gotta get rid of some of the ingredients I still have.
Oh, God. I'm sorry :'(
My dad wants pizza and beer. <shakes head>
@steelerfan Awww, don't be sorry, just tell him it keeps him alive. ;-)
22:35
@NapoleonWilson No. I'm sorry for you that you still have all of this stuff because I was supposed to be there. I'm just sick over it :'(
@steelerfan Awww, don't be sorry for that either. I'm not even sure if I had made all of this. I was just buying some of it for stock anyway.
On another note, I made my dad watch Midnight in Paris with me, which he surprisingly really liked. I'm still recovering from the shock ;)
Hmmmm...I have not seen that Forrest Gump question before. If Jenny died of AIDS, wouldn't Forrest be infected also?
I don't have the energy to read Swan's book of an answer ;)
@steelerfan I always wondered why she said noone knew what it was. But apparently the movie's ending is set much earlier than I thought. I guessed it ended in the 90s, but apparently didn't.
22:50
@NapoleonWilson Yeah. At the time that she tells Forrest about her illness, it's around 1980-1981 because she dies in 1982.
I never realized that before this answer.
Also, wiki says that she dies of Hepatitis C, but who knows.
IIRC they never said what she died of.
she was a 70s hippie, so lots of sex and drugs.
the movie supposedly happens in like 1981, so that would be before we really knew about either HIV or HepC
Nobody really knew what either was in the early 80's. HepC can easily be contracted by IV drug use, drinking, etc. Even then, it could be passed a fetus.
I think it was strongly implied to be HIV.
in the 80s, that was the "new unknown virus" that was killing people.
but I think that early, HIV was still considered largely a thing gay men got.
I don't think AIDS was even "discovered" until 1981 and for a few years it wasn't even known that it was a virus.
22:56
Yeah, it just would have likely been passed to Forrest and their child, though. I guess that we're just supposed to not think of that part of it ;)
it just caused you to get other diseases that normal people were immune to.
well, it didn't have to be passed on... it's just possible.
but in the very early 80s I doubt Jenny would have identified AIDS as an unknown virus.
they still called it "gay cancer" back then, I think.
I think Rock Husdon's death was when everyone suddenly realized it...1985-1986?
I was kinda young, but I studied AIDS for science classes in school.
no, they knew it was a thing in 1981.
people were being clinically diagnosed with an immune disease that causes Karposy's (?) sarcoma
but at that point, I think all of the known cases were homosexual men.
Well, his death is what put it on the international stage wasn't it? I was too young to remember.
that doesn't mean there weren't any women who had it... no one knew much about it back then... but I think it's more likely to be Hep C from needle sharing
22:59
And the religious freaks were stating that homosexuals were being punished for it. Blah, blah, blah.
Kaposi's* sarcoma, BTW
Yeah. Gia what's her face was one of the first women to die from it. She contracted it from sharing needles from her drug use.
people knew about AIDS before Rock Hudson died.
but it wasn't a big mainstream story.
at the time, it was mostly hippie gay men in CA that were getting it. so unfortunately, not many people cared.
so yeah, he was the first really well-known person to get it.
I was only like ... 9 or 10 when that happened.
I think Gia died before he did. But, she wasn't a household name like he was.
Way more beautiful than Angelina Jolie ^^
Sad.
she died the year after he did
23:08
Gia was gay too and religious freaks jumped on that one. From what I later read about after watching her biopic.
she really does look a lot like Cindy Crawford.
there's all these images of her from magazines where you can see her track marks.
i guess people didn't know what those were back then?
Yeah. They called Cindy Crawford "baby Gia" I read her autobiography. They would literally prop her up at photo shoots because she was so doped up and they just turned the other way and hoped people wouldn't notice.
I have seen the photos with the track marks, and you can barely make them out.
yeah, they're on her elbows, and they kept them turned away from the camera.
it's just odd, cuz they're not hard to cover with makeup.
Yeah, true. Or, airbrushed. I don't know.
One of the best pictures of her is topless and unfortunately can't be posted in here. She had the greatest bewbs ever and that we are all jealous of ;)
23:26
Mmh, delicious!
(Um, my dinner, that is.)
Haha! That's so funny that you just said that when I was talking about Gia's bewbs!! ;)
Nice clarification :P
What Gia are you actually going on about?
Gia Carangi.
Ne'er heard o' 'er.
Don't worry, you don't need her last name to Google her topless pics ;)
23:29
I wasn't planning on doing that. Just trying to get the gist of the conversation. ;-)
@NapoleonWilson She was a model in the 70's that died of AIDS. Angelina Jolie played her in a biopic.
Oh.
They had AIDS in the 70s?
Well, she died in the mid 80's. She was a heroin addict and contracted it from sharing needles.
people did have AIDS in the 70s
but the "epidemic" didn't start until 81
it was showing up in rare occasions, mostly in Africa, before that.
23:36
Right.
there were people who died of something like AIDS as far back as the 60s
the theory is that it mutated in the late 70s to become far easier to transmit.
and then someone brought it to the US in 1980 and started spreading it.
We have to get HepC and HIV screened every 3 months for my job. It's in our union contract.
AIDS just isn't the death sentence now that it used to be. Hasn't Magic Johnson been HIV positive forever?
yeah.
if you can afford the treatments, and they work, and you're careful, you can live a while.
immuno-compromised people in general last a lot longer these days.
same thing for e.g. transplant patients.
I thought that he announced it before I was in High School or around that time...early 90's?

Q: Lucifer - "Homewrecker"

Richard AlonsoIn season two, episode nine (Homewrecker) Lucifer's mother is very different and you can see a big change in personality, so what I can think is that she was very sweet like a mother, and now she is the opposite because of her face expressions, I don't know, I feel something evilistic in her. ...

23:43
I remember having to watch the safe sex "talk" that he and Arsenio Hall did when I was in school ;)
