Q: What's in the box at the end of "Wonder"?

MithrandirAt the end of Wonder, August's parents are eating together, drinking a bit, etc. During the course of the meal, his father gives his mother something in a box. She peeks inside and says that she'll use it later. I didn't quite catch what it was, though - what was inside the box? Do we know?

Thanks. Didn't come up when I searched.

@AnkitSharma :P
@NapoleonWilson You guys say it that way when you get a present? ;)

No, it's a quote from a film.

A J
@NapoleonWilson Ok.
@NapoleonWilson I am curious. How do you say it?

Say what?

A J
"what's in the box?"

5:12 PM
Yeah, like so.

A J
@NapoleonWilson in your language. We say it like "dabbe mein dabba ka h iss dabba ma". ;)

Oh.
Hmm, I don't know, it depends on the context.
The quote in the movie is "Was ist in der Kiste?" if I remember correctly.

A J
I will create one.
@NapoleonWilson ok.
So you watch Hollywood movies in German or English?

Primarily in German.
That's how they air on TV and in cinema (usually) anyway.
But even on DVD I mostly prefer German except for a few exceptions maybe.

A J
and what those exceptions would be?

5:21 PM
I don't know. Depends on mood, too, I guess.

A J
@AnkitSharma Seriously? It's not even one day and you're thinking of getting me demod? O.o
@NapoleonWilson Ohh.
I'd do that if I need more context that sometimes get lost in dubbing.

Maybe Interstellar somtimes, since I think the German version slightly "corrected" the intentionally odd sound mixing.
@AJ Meh, that's most of the times just a myth, though. You can pretty much lose context from listening to a language you're not 100% perfectly fluent in, too.
And reading subtitles is completely ass for any immersion and experience.

A J
@NapoleonWilson I'd need subtitles for the movies with quite complex plot
I started watching Hollywood movies in English since start, just for the purpose of learning the language. Later that channel was removed, so I watched most movies in Hindi. And nowadays, it's kinda mix. Sometimes Hindi, and sometimes English.

Q: Why could the creatures in the Quiet Place hear the faintest sound from a large distance but couldn't spot a person a few feet from them?

JonathanReezIn the Quiet Place movie, monster creatures roam the Earth searching for biological life that makes a sound. They seem to be able to pick up the least insignificant noise from a huge distance (such as a gas lamp toppling over inside a house), however they have a hard time spotting a person within...

Q: Why doesn't Mads Mikkelsen speak the entire film?

CharlesIn Valhalla Rising (2009), Mads' character One Eye goes the entire film without saying a single word. At a certain point, a young boy starts speaking on his behalf, but One Eye doesn't really affirm or dispute any of the boy's statements, so there's really no communication in this regard either. ...
